Telling That moron Leihey to “Fu*k off”….

+10

Saying Sarah Palin will have to earn the spot like everyone else…

+1. I love her, and he is right. She is the front runner though.

I’ll miss you Darth Cheney. ;)

David in ATL on December 21, 2008 at 9:37 PM

Yeah.

Funny world we live in.

Biden gets away with every statement of his being demonstrably false at the VP debate…

…Oh but Palin’s the idiot because she doesn’t read magazines. And blanked on the Supreme Court case question.

Or something.

(Hey, how many states are in the Union again, Obama?)

I will miss Darth Cheney. And I mean that moniker as complimentary as possible.

I heart Cheney.

VolMagic on December 21, 2008 at 9:38 PM

oh and btw Cheney… thanks for standing up and being a huge target for us during these last eight years and staying the course… you have my utmost admiration for the sacrifice of your good name and reputation. the left has assailed you time and time again and you just keep coming back with rational, insight and integrity. now run for President… I know you probably won’t win but you’ll tear them a new ass while trying.

Kaptain Amerika on December 21, 2008 at 9:39 PM

Cheney is a bright man with a world of experience. One of the points he made in this interview was that this administration’s goal was to do what was best for the country not what would be the most likely to raise his poll ratings. History will view this administration’s efforts during this period more kindly than it will view the New York Time’s efforts

Best FNS show I’ve ever seen. No shouting, No arguing. Good questions. Good answers. Good follow up. VP Cheney stuck to his positions..

Panel discussion following was also very good.

JeffreyLloyd on December 21, 2008 at 9:43 PM

That was one of the smartest SOBs to ever serve as vice president.

BTW, the only good part of the infamous Couric interview with Palin was when news-witch Couric asked both Biden and Palin to name the worst thing that Dick Cheney did as vice president.

Biden went on and on for God knows how long about how Cheney is evil incarnate.

Palin’s answer: “Worst thing? I guess that would have been the duck-hunting accident.”

I think that answered showed excellent political instincts. You don’t want to slam a fellow Republican, and yet you don’t want to say he did nothing wrong because he’s detested by 70% of the populace, so you deflect to something kind of humorous. She then went on to praise his commitment to the troops, which is something no one can fault Darth Cheney for.

If Dick Cheney had been President, Iraq would have been wrapped up 2 years ago and would be giving us a share of their oil revenues, Bin Laden would be toast. Iran would be angry, but years away from a nuclear device. Fannie Mae would have been brought under control 5 years ago and the idiodic lending to people who could never pay it back would never have happened. The economy would be roaring and a good conservative would be about to be sworn in.

Instead the country is on brink of total destruction.

Cheney is the man! Our country owes him more than anyone over the past 8 years. Cheney is what the Founders envisioned for the future governance of the US, I think. It is a real shame to see him go. And to think that his position will be taken over by a total retard … someone the Founders would have had sitting in the corner with a dunce cap. That is the real shame.

Valiant on December 21, 2008 at 10:09 PM

Cheney had influence in the first term, but Bush didn’t want to fight in Iraq the way that was necessary, so it got dragged out, instead, and Cheney’s influence got pushed aside. That’s why Bush’s 2nd term was a near total capitulation to the left, save staying for victory in Iraq (though at an extra high cost for being “cleaner” than any war should be). If Bush had stayed listening to Cheney, we would be in a totally different position, today – at least by my reckoning.

The Puppet master!

terryannonline on December 21, 2008 at 10:13 PM

Exactly. According to that crowd:
1. Bush was a moron
2. Bush was an evil genius
3. Bush was Cheney’s marionette
4. All of the above

It’ll be at least 20 years before anyone can make an objective assessment of his presidency.

Exactly. As far as we know, Cheney has been Bush’s guru, planting marxist and anti-sovereignty ideas in the boy’s head. We also know that Cheney was a big influence on bringing in all of these fools who have worked in the Bush Administration. I can only think of a couple, Rumsfeld and Ashcroft, who were ever worth a damn.

His taking the oath (to defend a document he knows almost nothing about) will be truly offensive.

I don’t think we’ll see Crazy Joe in public much after the inauguration. As soon as he tries to relieve himself in the Rose Garden, they’ll probably have him put to bed and kept out of sight. But the BHO team does want to show the public how crazy Crazy Joe is, in case anyone gets any ideas about dragging the idiot messiah into the whole Illinois scandal.

Had Cheney been more visible, people would have known he was twice as smart as Bush, and that would have been bad for the administration’s image in the long run. This way Cheney could stay in the background and keep the damage Bush could do to a minimum, and still build a legacy in history.

What you mean Cheney wasn’t visible? He was on the Sunday news shows every other week — whenever Condi Rice wasn’t on, it was Dick Cheney. He was one of the public voices of the Bush administration’s foreign policies.

I think he is a very smart man, but I’m interested in knowing if he was in Don Rumsfeld’s corner when it came to Iraq. Cheney and Rumsfeld go way back, and I blame Rumsfeld for foolishly resisting the surge strategy in Iraq which has proved so effective. So, to the extend that Cheney was in Rumsfeld’s corner on that issue, I have to give him a thumbs down.

What I do really love about the man is his utter disinterest in being liked or admired. He could care less what his detractors think about him.

That’s one thing I’ve never understood about the Bush administration. Once approval ratings started going down they backed away from doing media. They should have done the absolute opposite.
