Oh, You were only joking! I guess it’s alright then to use the name Christians have an intimate relationship with to cuss. I wonder how you would feel if someone used the name of someone you loved in such a derogatory way. Perhaps a parent, grandparent or spouse’s name to replace cussing.

Yes, I am concerned that you falsely represent Christ by your behavior. Other unbelievers here have spoken badly as well, but your goes beyond them. One characteristic you have failed to demonstrate is a correctable spirit. More than one brother has approaced you with this and you remain stubborn. And calling me gutless..nice.

This is a classic tactic to try and divert attention away from your own actions. Not to mention uncorrectable. As far as myself, I’m a wretched sinner who still sins and still deserves only the wrath of God. But by His grace alone and by no goodness within myself He seeks to conform me to his image. He continually points out my faults and I tirelessly seek to remove them with His help.
Where does the apostle Paul describe lewdness as fruit of the spirit? You should be ashamed. That is behavior that I would have expected from Penn.
If you received a threat, I’m sorry. I’ll look for it and respond to it if it is indeed a concern. I however was referring to your behavior that is unacceptable regardless of threats.

This revelation from Penn has solidified something within myself. To witness to all in love. Unfortunately not everyone will respond as well as Penn did here.
Hell is terrible. In love, warn others of the fate that awaits them because of their sin. Christ is loving and has provided himself as a sacrifice so that they may escape His wrath and experience true joy in His grace.

How do you know that your view of Hell is the correct one? Have you been there?
Do you know for a fact that God sends people to Hell? Have you considered the idea that people send themselves there because they themselves believe they deserve it, and that God stays out of their way as he freely lets them go?
I think the worst thing Christians can do is to scare people by warning them of God’s wrath. God is love, isn’t He? Perfect love casts out all fear, doesn’t it? How is wrath an aspect of love exactly?

The penalty of sin has already been taken care of on the Cross, hasn’t it? God doesn’t want anyone to suffer pain for what has already been done-Jesus took care of that. That group of anyone includes Adolf, Pol Pot, Saddam, Fidel, ad nauseum. If you wish to believe that it makes God a more loving god if He were to insist that these people must experience pain of some kind in order to make up for their past misdeeds, I’ll say that you are sick and twisted, and that you don’t know what love means.

Ok, so in your view, God DOES want them to suffer for all the pain they have caused others. Does Karma need them to hurt somehow as a sacrifice? What kind of pain do you believe He wants them to feel? Burning Hellfire? Bamboo shoots under the fingers nails? ‘an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth’ kind of equivalency?
Why the curiosity? Because it isn’t ‘orthodox’? How does one determine whose orthodoxy is valid, in your opinion?
I have learned what I have merely by bypassing everyone else’s opinions and dogma and took the time to ask God Himself how He sees things. I don’t need the RCC, the Watchtower, Martin Luthor, you, right4life, nor anyone else besides God to tell me how to interpret properly Him, do I? I have enough faith that God will give me wisdom when I ask for it, and in my own God-given ability to reason for myself. Do you have as much faith in your ability to understand God as I do, or do you believe you aren’t capable on your own, and thus need the support of others to tell you what the ‘right way’ to think about God is?
I think it, but not because it makes me feel better. I think it because it is the logical conclusion of your statements. People who believe in a punitive God who sends people to Hell are demented, and don’t know Him.

I assumed at first this was a misunderstanding; that you were saying that God wouldn’t punish us for our sin IF we were saved; but it sounds like you are saying he won’t punish ANYONE for their sin — which flies against about 100 scriptures, many of them the words of Christ. I would love to deal with you right now, Bizarro, but I have caught the Christmas spirit and have no desire to have it ruined by arguing with you or others. I will say this though: Right4life can handle himself, and I don’t claim he is perfect — none of us is. I asked him to refrain from cursing in his posts and he has agreed to make the effort. He could use some smoothing around the rough edges, some polishing up to better reflect the light of Christ to others (2 Peter 3:18). Jesus Christ cannot be going around swearing, and cursing. That does not reflect your Christian witness. I am working on trying to be more Christ-like in my dealings with the scoffers myself. Every person reading this message can improve in the way they deal with others. None of us is perfect, and none of us can claim that we don’t need improvement in some area. That said, I’d take right4life on my team over you in a heartbeat. In a millisecond. Criticize him all you want, at least he is in here fighting for the Lord, not obstructing, hindering, impeding, those fighting for the Lord, which is what you are doing. P.S. Lastly, my silence does not indicate that I am afraid of you, or your posts. Far from it. It simply says, that celebrating the dear Saviour’s birth is more important to me than you and your your insulting, juvenile and frankly stupid attacks. I am not saying that there is no punishment for sin, I am saying that God doesn’t punish people for their sins-they do it themselves because they believe they deserve it. God HATES pain, and doesn’t want it inflicted upon anyone, including all the tyrants I mentioned.
I understand that unrepentent sinners cannot be in Heaven. I don’t believe in literal everlasting eternal punishment, but that is a different topic.

My point was that I ask Him for assistance in understanding the truth, and that I am not going to invalidate what I have apparently figured out just because other theologians/people have different interpretations than I do. I would have appreciated it if you had applied logic and reason the first time you smeared us, and bothered to ask if the conversation you so frequently cite, which no one except you took seriously, was anything other than humorous innuendo. Remember when I implored you before to remember that apacalyps couldn’t understand irony? This is what I was trying to get at, but didn’t do so well: I think apacalyps is addled enough to be able to unintentionally operate as though GTA does involve actual cars and people, so that s/he isn’t a fraud the same way anyone who believes his/her hallucinations isn’t! I don’t think s/he can really help him/herself-s/he isn’t aware enough to!
Look back at your history with him/her in that light, and see if what I am/was trying to say makes sense!

Let’s get the facts straight before we go any further, shall we? Good!!!
1) I didn’t tell r4l I had as much contempt for him as I did a mosquito; I was comparing him to the people at the Democratic Underground when I said that. Since I was being honest when I said I had that kind of contempt for him, do you believe I had the right to say it to him? If you believe I did, then what problem might you have with the fact I did?
2) is it wrong for me the believe that demented people actually exist? No? So then, it is somehow wrong for me to believe that certain people are demented just because you or others don’t believe those same certain people are? No? So then, is it ever ok for me to tell them I believe they are demented? Yes, or no? If yes, then what problem might you have with me expressing the honest opinion that I think people like you are demented for believing that God is punitive?
There’s a problem: my question(s) to you still wasn’t answered by those passages! Here’s what I said again: Ok, so in your view, God DOES want them to suffer for all the pain they have caused others. Does Karma need them to hurt somehow as a sacrifice? What kind of pain do you believe He wants them to feel? Burning Hellfire? Bamboo shoots under the fingers nails? ‘an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth’ kind of equivalency?
I’ll simplify things: why does God need/want them to suffer pain for eternity, and what kind of pain do you believe they will suffer?
Here is the problem I have with your point here-there isn’t just one interpretation of the Bible. Think about how many people exist in the world! I asked you before, how do you decide whose theological orthodoxy is valid? You haven’t explained. Should I believe that the RCC is correct? The JW’s? Mormonism? Episcopalianism? It’s not as black and white as you wish.
So, when it comes right down to it, everyone has to decide for his/herself which interpretational path to go down. Some choose to defer to others who ‘understand’ God better than they do, while others believe they are best served by having faith in their own ability to understand.
God wants people to think for themselves, and not to entrust their thinking to others. If you don’t agree with that, by the logic I follow, I am forced to consider you to be a cultist who doesn’t have much faith in himself. That’s how I roll.

This is what real Americans believe: we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
If someone was pursuing his happiness in his living room by toking, getting drunk, eating some tacos deep-fried in trans fat, and watching the Vikings fumble away a potential win against the Falcons last Sunday, that affected your pursuit of happiness how exactly? If it did, it was because you are a busy-body nanny-stater who doesn’t like the thought that other people in the US are doing things that don’t meet your approval.
