Earth, I would assume. What I find interesting is Palin-haters feeling the need to go onto a conservative site to express their depth of feeling about someone who is otherwise held to be an irrelevant joke. Care to enlighten?

Everybody seems to be hitching (or has hitched) their star to her to get their fifteen minutes and make some money: Monegan, the ADN, Conroy and Walshe, SNL, basically every other news organization in the known universe, and on and on (and that doesn’t even mention all the shady people that tried to turn her into a sex object).

Bingo! Ironic that a woman who was derided because the RNC had to purchase a wardrobe for her has become a cash cow for so many.

I’m still annoyed about the criticism of the travel expenses. They keep criticising her for taking her kids on official functions. They state, “what could the kid be doing for the state? How can the kid be on state business?” Well, what did Chelsea do for the United States when she traveled all over the globe with her parents during the Clinton presidency? These media idiots act so self-righteous — as if they’ve never put a lavish dinner on their expense report. McCafferty at CNN railed about how Palin is a sleazy politician just like all the others for charging the state for her kids’ travel expenses. I want someone to rail about this every time the Obama kids are seen traveling as the First Family. Am I off base on this? I’d like to hear someone else’s opinion on this.

I’m still not clear on why the ADN originally reported (and continues to report) the story as if it’s front page news. It’s a small-time drug bust that should get a two sentence mention on the crime page in the Wasilla paper. The only reason the ADN is even reporting on this is to hit Palin. That, or to get hits on their website. Probably a little of both. That was an awesome post. The photo of the reindeer “attack” Sushannah cracked me up. I wonder if anyone has a “Journeys with George” type campaign video diary? I would love to see something like that.

Normally, troopers file charging documents in court to back up arrests. Clerks at the Palmer courthouse said they hadn’t seen any filings, and none has to be filed until the hearing.

The Palmer District Attorney’s office prosecutes drug cases. Palmer District Attorney Roman Kalytiak said he was aware of the arrest, but also had not seen any reports or charging documents.

Kalytiak said the standard protocol for drug arrests is that law enforcement officials observe one drug buy, then get a warrant that permits them to record conversations and document more buys.

“I’d imagine standard protocol was followed,” the district attorney said.

I sure hope these troopers aren’t playing political games here. I don’t understand why they didn’t the troopers state from the beginning that Johnson was busted for oxyc*ntin. They led everyone to believe that she was running a meth lab in her backyard. Oxyc*ntin is much more sympathetic.

I guess we’ll see how it turns out. They work for different news organizations, at different ends of the ideological spectrum, and they have different personalities as individuals. Maybe they’ll balance each other out. After reading through all their posts I’m more concerned about editing now that I’ve read Painter’s post. This post of Conroy’s cracked me up.

Who are they expecting to buy the book? The “love her or hate her” line in the press blurb on the book indicates they would like people of both sentiments to buy the book. They’ll have to be somewhat even handed.

Shushannah Walshe’s posts were always subtly more even handed than Conroy’s. For example, toward the end of the campaign when Palin must have been functioning on four hours of sleep and giving non-stop stump speeches, she made the mistake of saying, “election day is only three days away,” when it was actually two days away. Walshe wrote about this silly mistake lightly, noting that perhaps Palin subconsciously wished she had more time. Conroy wrote more condescendingly about it — noting that someone needs to change Palin’s teleprompter script. Same incidence, but spun two very different ways.

This is why I don’t trust the press. I trust what I see first hand. I trust what I read from the primary sources.

They are almost at 63,000 members but still short of their goal of 100,000 by Jan. 20th.

Team Sarah is a nice site and has great sub-groups too. I strongly recommend all HotAir Sarah fans join up. The site lets you have your own Mysite too. It’s easy to use too. Ok, as a guy, the pink color is annoying as H**l, but I’ll put up with it for the Cuda.

Josh Painter’s not as optimistic as we are about Conroy and Walshe’s book. Most of his concern seems to stem more from the publisher’s connections and history than their past reporting. Apparently, it’s the same publisher that published Scott McLellan’s book.

I’ve been trying to link to this ADN article listing the drug that Levi Johnson’s mother was caught with, but HA’s filters won’t let me write the name of the drug for some reason.

It’s a painkiller that begins with an “o” and was the same one they busted Rush Limbaugh for possessing.

Yeah, oxyc*ntin. I saw she got popped for intent to distribute as well as possession, but the cops always seem to do that if the person’s stash is larger than a (very small) amount.

It’s a painkiller that begins with an “o” and was the same one they busted Rush Limbaugh for possessing.

It’s almost as if the media isn’t being truthful about her. But that can’t be can it?
