If one has the honor of serving the public than they must be willing to forgo lobbying, speechifying and being able to leave Washington richer than they when they arrived.

Let’s see how many actually want to serve the public as opposed to lining their own and their friends pockets.

Very well stated, and I agree. We need repesentatives who do it for the right reason, those that have ‘the heart of a servant’ and want to be in politics for our benefit, not theirs.

Look, there’s a Dem majority in both houses. Clinton is the most loved Dem president since Kennedy, despite his flaws. There may be a few preening Senators making noise & getting TV time, but nobody’s gonna actually torpedo the nomination.

As an aside, in some ways Obama looks like he’s Clinton II in more ways than one. He’s hinting toward the center with his appointments. Nepotism is rampant in his administration (Rahm’s brother Ezekiel looks like he’s headed to HHS with Daschle). Obama will make noise and throw a few bones to the far left, but won’t go far enough out on that limb to tick off the majority of Americans.

I’d love to believe “concernedsenior” about this blocking Hillary’s confirmation, but other than Tail-Gunner Joe, who exactly in the Senate isn’t going to roll-over for the Saudis?

Second, this is yet another example of The Black Caesar having no plans whatsoever to keep his promises about reform and change in Washington. He wanted Hillary out of the way and gave her State. But he told Bill not to release the donor list until the discussions of Hillary at State subsided. Now we see what we already knew – Bill Clinton remains in the pockets of several foreign governments.

Worse is that the GOP will do nothing to stand in the way of this appointment. Most have already gone on record to say that they are pleased with her being named.

I completely agree with your assessment Tantor, I wouldn’t put it past the Clintoons. I have always said Clintoon should have been brought up on treason charges for failing miserably to take the prudent action against Al Qaeda when his administration had the opportunities.

Instead Clintoon and his administration continually failed to carry out their most basic responsibility to protect the union and its people.

Clintoon was so busy playing “hide the cigar” and covering his azz for all his indiscretions, as well as gutting our military and intelligence capabilities for the sake of his “budget surplus” add in he’s a pacifist to the bone all these things together enabled AQ to continue to train, plan, and ultimately carry out 9-11! Therefore it is my opinion Clintoon should have not just have been impeach but he should have been tried for treason!
