Video: Obama starting to get testy at media’s questions about Blago

posted at 8:54 pm on December 16, 2008 by Allahpundit

As testy, at least, as the Prince of Peace is capable of getting. Via Breitbart, looks like this scene might have jarred something loose in the press corps because reporters were talking tough afterwards. Good work, boys — you’re only six months too late.

Maybe all questions should be submitted beforehand so the king and his court can decide which ones are a waste of time and scratch them. This would benefit everyone since the press conferences would flow much more efficiently.

Mark1971 on December 16, 2008 at 8:59 PM

Question: will Obama’s bad attitude with the press cause the press to turn against him? Will they shed their adoration for him?

jediwebdude on December 16, 2008 at 8:59 PM

He’s done this before. One is not to question the anointed one.

Spineless chap- !! And then there is the smug laugh insinuating that the reporter and rest with legit questions are such twits……ah the New President Elect – cocky and smarmy!!

That would be like renouncing themselves.
Who knows, it could happen.

Isn’t it hard to “get tough” when you’ve been bent over a chair for 9+ months.

aquaviva on December 16, 2008 at 9:02 PM

Buck-up Mr. Nixon, I mean-Obama.

ThePrez on December 16, 2008 at 9:02 PM

Good work, boys — you’re only six months two years too late.

Fixed.

This shows both Osama Obama’s overweening, ultimately dangerous (for the nation) arrogance, and what shills the MSM have become.

“Tough” question? That was a freekin’ softball, at least compared to what any President-elect (or presidential candidate) would face when not blessed with Obama’s protective coloration and tight-Levi’s appeal.

We’re screwed.

MrScribbler on December 16, 2008 at 9:02 PM

The poor peon did not know that you do not question Lord Barack the First. He is above such common things as ethics.

By the way, journalistic integrity is now an oxymoron…like jumbo shrimp.

kingsjester on December 16, 2008 at 9:03 PM

Well, well, well…

I guess we see a glimpse of how well our fearless leader can handle pressure.

What’s it been? A week? And he’s already losing patience with the press on this one issue?

North Korea, Iran, Russia, etc. are licking their chops in anticipation…

catmman on December 16, 2008 at 9:03 PM

If he can’t take it now just wait until someone really turns up the heat on an issue.

Paradox Drive on December 16, 2008 at 9:04 PM

Prediction:

Next week when the “comprehensive review” is released his answer to these types of questions will be…

“We’ve already answered these questions. Next question.”

Firebird on December 16, 2008 at 9:06 PM

This is only a taste of the outrageous arrogance he will display for the next 4 years.

I predict the press will grow tired of being catstrated. Then it will get juicy.

This man is already insufferable!!

katy on December 16, 2008 at 9:07 PM

Another exit question: how many people think we’ll actually hear anything about the “comprehensive staff report” next week as “promised?”

“bout then, Osama Obama’ll be getting his new doggie….

MrScribbler on December 16, 2008 at 9:07 PM

Does he honestly think that a hostile press (and I use the term loosely) is going to be his most difficult task at POTUS? I am getting that Jimmy Carter feeling all over again.

Why is this still a story, guys? Obama himself said an internal review revealed nothing wrong.

Senator Obama. Your run so far through the elections has been historic set of firsts. Do you think that you will be the first president to resign before taking the oath of office?

phreshone on December 16, 2008 at 9:18 PM

And what’s with this picking reporters BS.

I saw part of the PC yesterday and now this today. They called on specific reporters, a select few. They had to have an idea of what questions they would then get too right?

Why have a “Press Corps” at all if your going to “pick your own poison”?

I know they do sometimes pick people, but it seems The One’s choices are extremely specific…

catmman on December 16, 2008 at 9:19 PM

It’s odd to watch someone as stupid as the Precedent-Elect acting this arrogant. Affirmative action is a great thing.

progressoverpeace on December 16, 2008 at 9:21 PM

“I’m gonna let the state legislature determine how they want to proceed”.

I’m going to let….????? Wow, he sounds like a fuhrer being gracious. As if, legally, he can do anything else.

I find it very odd the way you all talk about “Obama’s vacant seat”. It isn’t Obama’s, once he resigns, is it? I’d say this is one way in which our parliamentary system is better than your system. The seat belongs to the people, not the person who once held it with their permission and on their behalf. I find the entire practice of governor-appointed replacements for seats vacated before terms expire to be odd.

ProfessorMiao on December 16, 2008 at 9:21 PM

Well, it’s not like Bush stood up there and got ripped a new one at every press conference. All the times he just stormed out after 8 questions….

Speaking of Press Conferences….The thought of Helen Thomas peeing all over herself every time the ONE!! Trots his smoove self out to the podium….

Gahh!!!!

BigWyo on December 16, 2008 at 9:23 PM

Notice how “Inappropiate” is the new ‘IS IS’ word!

Lets just cut all the bullsh#t out once and for all,
Hopey/Changey is “Elite Extrodanairre” or sumpin like
dat!

Barack Obama has no intentions of discussing anything
with anyone,he has proven time, and again, that Obama will
ask questions, and will not,’ANSWER TO NO ONE’!

SERIOUSLY,Obama is PRESIDENT ELECT,wait till HE’s sworn
in,and then I dare any journalist,if they know whats good
for them,to ask Obama a question!
—————————————————-

Heres where Team Obama is at,no one is going to get any
straight answers, because the way this administration gets
set-up,staffers will only get what their told, need to know

Think about it!

Why was the staff of the former Clinton Administration
hired,like ‘Slick willys’ secretary!

This is going to be a very secretive Administration, with
Team Clinton,and Obama’s Socialist ideas,el presto,its
going to be 10 years from now, before anybody gets the real
truth!!

Much like,Rahm ‘Rambo’ who can be trusted to keep his mouth
shut, and probably the reason Hillary wants a direct line,
to Obama!

Either the MSM plays ball will Hopey, and parrotts their Utopia,or the Journalists will be kicked to the curb!

Hopey is an Authoritarian,ne thinks!

Hog Wild on December 16, 2008 at 9:24 PM

I watched this interchange then turned it to MSNBC to see how the enemy of the people news channel would cover it.

Sheister Shuster and the main NBC political hack Chuck Todd both surprisingly gave it to Obama. They said he handled it wrong and implied some of the glowing veneer was washing off.

The pro Obama political hack Todd stated Obama will not escape such questioning once he takes office. His press sec. will have to take 20 to 50 minutes of intense questioning every day and will not be able to avoid the tough questions.

Love it, the “wolfpack” is dying start tearing him apart.

The next 4 years should provide great entertainment.

This is up to each state – federalism. It differs from some to others. I liked your point about the “people”. In New York is not the people either, it’s the Kennedys, but it is the constitution of each state…there are pros and cons for your and our systems.

Back to the One – that “John, John…” was grating. He is condescending and rattled that he can’t dicatate the rules. I ‘like’ him on defensive because he’s at his worst. If only he had a debater who’d have taken him to task…if only…

Some of the media might be getting out of his crotch and not like what they find about themselves. They’re spent, in many ways.

Obama should just have an assistant always carry a plate of waffles to hand to him whenever he’s in a jam. So he can say ‘can’t I just finish my waffle, I’ve answered like … 8 questions already!!’ and then munch on the waffle.
