Sanford was on blowhard Mike Galagher’s show (Hey Mike, so your wife died, get over it) and Sanford was going on how it isn’t fair to make South Carolina taxpayers subsidize California firefighters’ pensions. California gets $0.78 in federal spending for every tax dollar it sends to Washington. South Carolina gets $1.35. So it’s California residents who are subsidizing South Carolina, not the other way around.

Most of the defense plants in California have closed or been relocated to the South.

All of the states in the South and Southwest, except for Texas ($0.90), North Carolina ($0.97) and Georgia ($0.99) get more in federal spending than they pay in tax dollars.

No, they say, we should just turn it over to the private sector to police itself. That would be the same private sector that produced the billionare Nasdaq baron robber. Please.

Politicians like Rangel just love to be the ones doing all the talking. They only want to be heard asking questions, they don’t give a crap about the answer. Just watch any senate hearing. You’ll get all kinds of grandstanding, and occasionally hear some memorable quotes (like Hillary’s “willing suspension of disbelief”) but very little reasoned, meaningful debate.

Got to briefly meet him and shake his hand and encourage him to run for President.

VERY impressive guy (and resume).

After all, it is the most important EXECUTIVE job in the world, not the most important DEBATING and COMPROMISING job.

My pleasure. The more I see/hear of Rangel, the more I despise the man. He reminds me of a used car salesman: slicked-back hair, waxed moustache, raspy voice. The only thing missing is the multicolored plaid Polyester pants.

Same goes for Frank, Dodd, Pelosi and Harry “shoe-bomber” Reid. Who on earth keeps voting for these crooked shysters?

I do not get many chances to say I love South Carolina, but Sanford continues to find ways to help me say it. I was a little concerned when I heard that he didn’t want to run for president, but I think he meant he was not ready to run at that time. Unless there is an Ayers or Wright in his background somewhere, he only has to fight Sarah to get my vote.

SC has Sanford and DeMint and damn proud of it. But as long as we have people that have a problem with SC for whatever reason they might have a battle. ‘Hey, they kept a Confed battle flag on state house grounds’, ‘they had segregation’… blah blah blah.

Yes it is. This video needs to be shown again and again. Sanford absolutely dumbfounds them, they can not understand why he doesn’t want the bailout money. Or they do understand and decide to talk over him instead (until the representative from Georgia helps out) — Rangel is figuratively fingers-in-ears la-la-la I can’t hear you.

Your post fails to provide specificity. You suggest that Romney may have been named “car czar” but you fail to pinpoint any source indicating that Romney himself would have even considered taking such a position.

I don’t “worship” any candidate, but I like what I have seen so far from Romney, Palin, Sanford, and Jindal. I do believe in defending them from attacks such as yours that have every indication of lacking a basis in fact.
