Maybe, but I bet it wont change the practice.

I am getting sick of political money raising crap. I wish we could nominate committee membership based on merit. Nominate the most knowledgeable in a particular field to be on that committee, not rank the various committees by prestige and doll out assignments according to contribution amounts. That pretty much guarantees you aren’t going to get any serious know-how on any of those committees.

Fund raising is important but it shouldn’t be the diving force of governing.

This message, while grubby and embarrassing, doesn’t appear to cross the line into corruption or fraud, although it says plenty about the values of the Democratic Party…

…unlike Deep Throat, I wouldn’t counsel to “follow the money” nowadays….

…I’d recommend that we “follow the morons”…they’ll leave self-incriminating voicemail messages…they’ll lay their whole venal scheme out on an open line they know must be monitored by some ethics or criminal justice agency…or they may just get caught with hundreds of thousands of ill-gotten spondulicks in their freezer….

…they’ll never really get prosecuted…hey! They’re in charge now, right?…

The pay for play thing is huge, I just did some reading on David Rubin, he is the boss at CDR, the company at the heart of Richardson scandal. IN addition to other things including working with Freddie Mac, he was also on freaking Ed Rendell's transition team when he became governor. This guys all over the place. I don't know about the Florida story, but the Richardson is just the tip of the iceberg for the other pay for play scandal.

The unspoken assumption in those voice mail messages is that the generous contributors will be able to turn those committee positions into personal profit in order to pay back their contribution, plus interest. It’s exactly that kind of power/profit equation that turns government, the way the Democratic party runs it, into the cesspool of corruption it is today.

This is a reach at best. Republicans do this just as much as Democrats. It is a big problem with the system but it happens and really, is not that big a deal. If we want to nail the Blagos and Richardsons (and Emanuels) of the world we need to avoid jumping on trivial issues like this one.
