Obama internal review: There were no inappropriate contacts with Blago

posted at 7:05 pm on December 15, 2008 by Allahpundit
Share on Facebook | printer-friendly

We know there were contacts, the only question is their propriety. In case you’re suspicious, Fitzgerald has indeed confirmed that he asked The One to hold off on releasing the report until next week, when Obama will be vacationing in Hawaii and the world will be busy with Christmas. If Fitz’s job was in doubt before, it’s in less doubt today.

Not that it much matters to the case against Blago, given how many witnesses have come forward since he was pinched, but the Tribune might have gotten Jesse Jackson Jr off the hook here by exposing the feds’ wiretapping before a final meeting about the Senate seat between Blago and one of Jackson’s cronies could be arranged. Good work, boys. Another dynastic travesty we’ll be living with forever.

who cares about the connection between Blago and B Hussein?

I want more extensive coverage of that damn shoe-throwing incident!! That’s news for at leadt 2 weeks!

Wow! The press really hammered him on that…uh, ..one…..question about Blago!

I can live with people who make mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes. But I can’t handle people who instinctively lie about their mistakes.

Obama lied when he said “no contact.” Now he’s lying again, just in a slightly more subtle way. “Inappropriate” can mean whatever he wants it to mean; it’s an evasion. But that’s all the MSM will need to completely exonerate him.

Splashman on December 15, 2008 at 7:16 PM

His INTERNAL REVIEW said that, gee I wonder how many liberals who would have scoffed at best (gone ape **** at worst) over a Bush admin internal review will take this review from Obama with the same reverence as the ten bleepin commandments

TexasDan on December 15, 2008 at 7:19 PM

Yeah, but it’s gonna work for ol’ Osama Obama, just as every other lie clarification in the three-plus years of his Senate career run for the Presidency did.

When you have all those rabid, leg-tingling followers among the public and the MSM, and even so-called “conservatives” drinking the Kool-Ade about the legitimacy of your birth and how you’re Constitutionally qualified to be President without offering any proof, you can skate right past a tiny scandal-ette like a few inappropriate heart-to-hearts with Blags.

rob verdi on December 15, 2008 at 7:17 PM

I have to agree with you Rob, but there is one thing that Mr. Obama, President Elect, the Office of doesn’t quite understand……………….

………….. this crap has ripple effects in society.

Look at what happened after Clinton was caught lying about getting a blow job in the oval office…….. what did the media do?

………….. they did their best to make it the “norm”, that “lying was OK”, that it “didn’t effect him professionally”, they attacked those responsible for making sure our elected officials are law abiding and live up to the standards that their offices demand, all for political purpose.

The media is sooooooooo invested in Mr. Obama, I doubt if he was caught performing a late term abortion on tape, that it would make page 35 below the fold on a Saturday.

Then this “fix” starts to spread through society just like “gangsta rap” clothes being sold at Sears….

………….. Elections do have consequences, and we haven’t even gotten to day #1.

I missed Rush today,, but I just read on his website that McCain is out there criticizing Republicans for talking too much about this. He’s out there supporting Obama and telling Republicans to be quiet.
I am so glad he lost!
I am just so glad!
I feel good now,, I can finally openly immensely dislike McCain again!

“Internal Investigation” = “find out who did it then make sure it’s covered up and everybody has the story straight”. What a joke.

It may be hard to keep the lid on this, though. Some people are looking at quite a bit of jail time.

I think The One will easily go to war with the press.

He is vain.

“Every place is Barack Obama country once Barack Obama’s been there.”

He is a deity.

It will light upon you,” he continued. “You will experience an epiphany. And you will say to yourself, I have to vote for Barack. I have to do it.”

He can’t admit a mistake.

Numerous comments on the ’surge’ in Iraq.

Sounds like the makings for trouble.

MikeA on December 15, 2008 at 7:12 PM

To the contrary, he’s speaking volumes and it all says that he thinks you and I are too damned stupid and smitten to question whatever the bastard says. He’s wrong. Fitzgerald is too much of an ambitious partisan (e.g. the Libby witchhunt) for Obama ever to be tainted too much over this but that doesn’t mean it’s over.

One thing I’ve come to understand is that nobody ever escapes the consequences of their actions forever. It sometimes takes a while, sometimes it will be when held to account by God, but ultimately what goes around comes around. Once the first of all these filthy Chicago politicians go down it will only be a matter of time and Obama is a filthy a Chicago politician as it gets.

True dat. Usually getting all the lies straight will work, but here they don’t know what’s on the 300 hours of tapes, or whether phone records or emails have been or would be subpoenaed.

I expect Obama is having his staff take “nuance” classes as well as how to feign memory loss.

It’s like The Godfather. Obama is a filthy Chicago politician but he’s intelligent enough to let Emanuel and others leave the fingerprints and do the dirty work while he goes out on Christmas tree hunts with his bratty children and ghetto-chic wife. He’s smart enough to let Wright espouse his anti-white views of the world. He’s smart enough to let Ayers spell out the Obama plans for terrorist leniency.

Nevertheless, Capone was ultimately convicted and so will Obama but it isn’t going to be over such a ham-handed way of selling off a US Senate seat.

highhopes on December 15, 2008 at 7:44 PM

At the rate in which Obama is trying to get the voters

The fact McCain is out there already attacking Republicans and supporting Obama over this senate thing,, is proof McCain has not changed at all. I was being a little sarcastic,, I voted for him,, supported him,, had the sign in the yard and all,, but he just makes me nauseous already out there doing what he does best,, undercutting Republicans and supporting Democrats. Yes,,, I am glad he lost. For all the harm he caused this party,, and quite frankly,, the harm McCain and his ilk have caused this nation,, I am glad he lost the election. We would be no better off with McCain in the White House. Perhaps even worse,,, time will tell.

JellyToast on December 15, 2008 at 7:53 PM

An official statement from the Office of the President Elect is similar to a Papal bull. Such a relief to see that we’re all now on the same page.

Obama has once again shown he can provide Americans with an official truth to quell any controversy. There’s no need for anyone to dig any deeper because doubt and smears are the enemy of truth.

Now he can get back to work for the American people.

econavenger on December 15, 2008 at 7:54 PM

Well, our short little national distraction is over, and see, just like Barry told us, nothing there, nothing at all. Eventually we will get accustomed to Barry answering with one simple lie and no need for pesky followups, and then everything will work a lot smoother. And the trains will run on time too.

Was this the sole motivation for the Trib to break the story?
How would the Trib know who in particular was involved?

Did anyone become suddenly informed of the investigation and instigate the Trib to act?

The Tribune’s got some explaining to do, imo

notagool on December 15, 2008 at 8:36 PM

I watched that entire fiasco (the announcement of the anti-human energy team) and found it to be so ridiculous as to cause painful laughter.

I have to say that it was a pretty neat trick that he had the press questions already determined – as he read the names off of some idiot card in front of him instead of picking them out of the crowd – that no one seemed to have minded. I also liked the way his retarded answers were accepted, he had mangled more English in his answer to the sole Chicago question than George Bush ever did.

What I really didn’t understand, given that the idiot messiah was introducing the energy team that was set to wge war on humanity and human production, is why no one tried to blurt out the obvious question as it related to energy policy – “When are you going to bankrupt the coal industry?”

THe idiot messiah is so dirty and stupid that one must suspend disbelief to not puke every time he shows up and tries to pretend that he should be in charge of of anythng bigger than a corner lemonade stand. Sure, he likes to say, “I, uh, er, know …” and “I know, uh, er, …” but we all know that he knows nothing. Though, it’s neat how his energy policy costs nothing, increases production, creates jobs and saves the world. And I thought that perpetual motion machines weren’t impossible. Silly me.

Of course, a few questions on what the idiot messiah actually knows about global warming (slavishly addressed as nothing but “climate change” by the hope and change retard) would also be nice to hear. I’ve seen stupidty and I’ve seen arrogance, but I’ve never seen stupidity and arrogance quite as it exists with the affirmative action retard.

He has announced his plans to run again for his seat in 2010. I know that I and others like myself are going to do everything in our capabilities to ensure that he is defeated in the primaries. He was almost subjected to a recall election in 2001, but the recall petition organizers did the honorable thing after 9/11 and withdrew the recall. When he ran again, he was un-opposed because of the war effort. I would hope that given his recent behavior he will not be afforded the same benevolence in 2010 and that we can run a true conservative against this RINO.

hopefloats on December 15, 2008 at 9:03 PM

Of course not, all of the crooked politicians in Chicago and Illinois permitted Saint Barack to rise straight to the top out of the good in their hearts.

They had plenty of people eager to give payoffs, kickbacks and other favors but they shunned them aside, because they saw how an unqualified, unaccomplished, self-absorbed jackass could save the country.

Please. Obama is as dirty as any of them, including Blago. Anyone who voted for this clown is going to finally get an education, but it’ll be far too late.

So “I had no contact” along with “we were not” has no changed to “I had no contact last week” and his staff did have contact, but it was not “Inappropriate” contact.

Hum? Obviously his story has changed, so the question for Obama should were you lying then or are you lying now?

“His INTERNAL REVIEW said that, gee I wonder how many liberals who would have scoffed at best (gone ape **** at worst) over a Bush admin internal review will take this review from Obama with the same reverence as the ten bleepin commandments”

Why wonder?
Ever hear of the Plame case?

Did anyone else notice he also stopped himself elsewhere when he said no one had been in contact with “gov… uh Federal officials”?

Obama internal review: There were no inappropriate contacts with Blago

Boy, I’m glad that’s settled.

LOL, absolutely right, huh???

Reminds me of the answer to this question from a page regarding Obama’s ‘yup I’m a citizen because that guy over there says so’ page. The statement:

Ridicule all you want but not one of you people making fun of the “birthers” can give a legitimate reason why PEBO won’t produce his original BC.

and then the reply:

How about: he doesn’t want to? So long as he’s met the legal requirement to be president, he’s not beholden to random citizens asking to see his records.

See? Some one else says it’s good, so it’s good. So shut up. It’s been settled already. And now this. Nothing wrong, no inappropriate contacts with Blago, says Obama. So shut up about this as well, citizens. Don’t question the one.

Bing.

And since the Tribune wouldn’t seem to give a rat’s ass about JJJ, the question becomes – “what does JJJ have on Obama?”
