I just hope the Republican senators stand firm against this socialist bailout. McCain just never seemed to understand this concept. Good times are over. The auto industry have to make changes, and the UAW have to make concessions, or go to oblivion.

You guys wouldn’t be whining about socialism and nationalism if the entire financial system had collapsed. It’s easy to throw around your little catch phrases and complain endlessly about the cost of the bailout, when you have no idea how close the entire system came to collapse.

We have the government and the Federal Reserve to thank for it, too. Trusting them to "fix it" with the same loose credit, loose monetary, bubble-inflating policies that got the (barely-free) markets into the current mess is Einstein's definition of insanity.

We tried clinging to all those ‘free market’ tactics during the Great Depression. It didn’t work.

I tried to call my two Senators about the auto bailout. Senator Specter’s line was busy the three times I tried. Am I being paranoid in thinking that Specter just doesn’t want to hear from constituents? I like his moderation, and I understand that people who call my not represent the population. So why should a Senator care about the freaks who do call? Still, it seems to me that Senators should pretend to care about the people engaged enough to call them about an issue.
I had no trouble getting through to Senator Casey. I tried to combine opposition to socialism with environmentalist car hatred in a way that I thought would surprise the aide and make my call interesting and memorable. It was probably a wasted effort as Casey is a socialist.

Bad news: DeMint believes that Arlen Specter will not back a filibuster against Card Check.

Tell Arlen that because of his position, he should have no problem letting the rest of the GOP set up a website solely to announce his votes on every single legislation, especially pork projects.

No secrets? If its good for unions, its good enough for Senators.

I really don’t believe you don’t know this….

Card check is a method of organizing employees into a labor union in which employers are forced to enter into an agreement to recognize the unionization of its employees if a majority of employees in a bargaining unit sign authorization forms, or “cards” that others are allowed to see your vote.

This means your vote is not a secret vote to join or not to join a union. Your vote can be coerced or intimidated into voting against your wishes.

It is the worst form of socialism imaginable.

Yup. E-mail his office and look at the standard reply. I can’t remember the exact wording, but it was along the lines of “lets do everything we can to save the auto industry”

This gives him a great opportunity for him and his pet Grahmnesty to break the deadlock, lead a ‘gang of RINOs’ and “save” the US auto industry.

I live in Alabama and our Senators are leading the charge against this bailout. People need to contact their linguini spined Senators and stop this bailout and then card check and all the rest of the crap coming down the pike. This isn’t going to be easy, but it can be done.
