No word on what they said to each other, but they do have at least one thing in common.

As a singer, I find her early stuff to be astonishing. Art has absolutely nothing to do with anything else, popular opinion to the contrary, and the elevation of Hollywood moneymakers to guru status has only exposed the immaturity of most of the participants (including their audience.)

Johnny Carson also hated this woman, and that was at the peak of her popularity. I still can remember that week when NBC heavily promoted her appearance on The Tonight Show (after years of her never having done a talk show) and then she backed down the day she was scheduled to appear. Carson was furious, and he never was known for openly slamming celebs but he did a rant saying as long as he was there she’d never be asked again.
