Video: Christmas comes early

Via Ace and VIMH, you know exactly where it’s going but that doesn’t make it any less sweet when you get there. If those plummeting casualty numbers haven’t hit home yet, this ought to do the trick. Unforgettable.

Ugly on December 6, 2008 at 4:12 PM

Very nice. And a good reminder that many, many families of servicemen are sacrificing every day, for our benefit. It’s a darn shame all the daddies can’t be home for Christmas. I thank God for our military.

Splashman on December 6, 2008 at 4:13 PM

That was beautiful.

Drunk Report on December 6, 2008 at 4:54 PM

Thanks Allah. I’ve only watched it 27 times so far. Still getting teary-eyed.

hit and run on December 6, 2008 at 4:55 PM

Thanks. I needed a little cry… Precious child. Brave daddy and a strong mommy…

Buckeye Babe on December 6, 2008 at 5:05 PM

My husband came home last week. Our daughter wont leave his side. Home Comings are amazing, espically for the little ones. The first time my husband came home my daughter was young and she didn’t remember him. This was a great video. Thanks for sharing

Brat4life on December 6, 2008 at 5:17 PM

That’s what its all about….! Great story…

DL13 on December 6, 2008 at 5:18 PM

great story…thx for posting it

jediwebdude on December 6, 2008 at 5:41 PM

Tell those moonbat non-believer yoo-hoos in Washington State who posted that idiotic No-God sign in the State Capital building next to the Nativity Scene: THIS IS WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ALL ABOUT!

pilamaye on December 6, 2008 at 5:44 PM

Never mind that North Carolina gave her dad a big middle finger with going to Obama.

TTheoLogan on December 6, 2008 at 5:46 PM

I’ve seen it four times now, in four different venues (Fox news, 2 local news shows, and now here) and it still makes me cry! I love how she takes a few seconds to realize, “hey, that’s really my daddy and he’s really here!” What a touching piece!

Thanx Allah!

Vntnrse on December 6, 2008 at 5:49 PM

I never get tired of these types of videos. I have lived it myself. A military family is a very special type of famliy comprised of not only the immediate members but our extended family as well. To read your repsonses to this video does my heart good. I am so very proud of my husband and what he does and stands for. My life has never been a sacrafice, but a complete honor filled with pride, humility, and absolute gratatude. Thanks to all our service members and to all of you for keeping all of us in your thoughts.
Merry Christmas and God Bless all of Us.

Not a chance.

Thank you watchers of WXII-12 in Winston-Salem, NC for suggesting that story and of course the news department at that station. I’d like to see you top that!

Would have been fun if Santa took his beard off and it wad DADDY! I thought that was how it was going to go down, at first.

pleaseandthankyou on December 6, 2008 at 4:25 PM

Same here.

Never mind that North Carolina gave her dad a big middle finger with going to Obama.

TTheoLogan on December 6, 2008 at 5:46 PM

SAME HERE, UNFORTUNATELY! Was thinking about moving to NC–NOT ANYMORE!

BobAnthony on December 6, 2008 at 8:25 PM

God bless all of our Troops! God bless the 1% who defend the 99%! God bless the families waiting for them at home!

Tony737 on December 6, 2008 at 8:30 PM

Yeah, I got teary eyed watching that.

Darned allergic reaction.

Slublog on December 6, 2008 at 8:33 PM

Darn it, I haven’t cleaned enough in here or there’s allergies or something because I had several somethings in my eye.

lol @ the truck comment by Ace.

Me too. I suppose there has to be SOMETHING under the tree for the little cutie…

mjk on December 6, 2008 at 8:40 PM

Beautiful! Wonderful to have happy tears………

sheebe on December 6, 2008 at 9:11 PM

That NEVER gets old. Bless our troops.

KillerKane on December 6, 2008 at 9:13 PM

Never mind that North Carolina gave her dad a big middle finger with going to Obama.

TTheoLogan on December 6, 2008 at 5:46 PM

F You! Never mind that McCain gave North Carolina the middle finger by calling us racist. Never mind that the Republican party gave NC the middle finger by nominating McCain.

This is a local story. You won’t find any better ’salt of the earth’ people than here in NC. Pilot Mountain is my favorite place on the planet. You might hear them mention ‘mount pilot’ on The Andy Griffith Show. It was based on that area.

Thanks for sharing. We have stories like this all the time in NC. NC loves America. And NC doesn’t feel like it gave anyone the middle finger by exercising our right to vote.

ThackerAgency on December 6, 2008 at 9:17 PM

Thanks,Allah for this gift to us tissue-users. As a retired military wife, well do I remember those special times when Daddy comes home to us. Every time, it reinforced for me the importance off Dads. ALL DADS, not just our wonderful military Dads

YankeeinCA on December 6, 2008 at 9:31 PM

I’m so glad for the family. That was heartwarming.

oh man, that’s the best Christmas story yet. pass the kleenex ’cause I’m watching it again.

kellyjane on December 6, 2008 at 9:41 PM

There’s something in my eye…You know it happens every time.

jgapinoy on December 6, 2008 at 9:42 PM

Heartwarming. It’s good to have a a Christmas story that focuses on what’s truly important.

Yakko77 on December 6, 2008 at 10:08 PM

Somewhat O/T: Book recommendation: “Mission: Black List #1″ by SSgt Eric Maddox, the interrogator who captured Saddam.

Tony737 on December 6, 2008 at 11:21 PM

What makes for a good soldier, sailor, airman, Marine, Coast Guardsman, reservist, National Guard?

-Tradition, yes
-Training, yes
-Leadership, yes
-equipment, yes

but most of all, it’s family.

KillerKane on December 6, 2008 at 11:37 PM

Aww, that was a great story.

apacalyps on December 7, 2008 at 1:05 AM

That was just the sweetest little girl. God bless the folks who helped bring her daddy home and bless her daddy for working to protect us.
Clouded eyes here too.
I was a milbrat and I still remember when my father came home from Viet Nam. It was like he had been gone forever.
To all of our soldiers and their families…
THANK YOU!

MITX on December 7, 2008 at 1:05 AM

I thought manly men aren’t supposed to get all teary-eyed over stuff like this…

But I did anyway.

ynot4tony2 on December 7, 2008 at 7:11 AM

Thanks, AP.

Stuff like that just grabs your heart and gives it a good squeeze.

(Then the cardio-optic vein transmits the pressure to the eyeballs somehow. sniff)

hillbillyjim on December 7, 2008 at 7:17 AM

What a sweet video! Still wiping away tears. Thank God for our military men and women and thank God for their families and their sacrifices. Wow, just WOW!

Awww, watching this sweet little girl calling for her Daddy and the tears come on! This is the spirit of Christmas. God bless this wonderful family and all of our US Military families this season. Thank you all for your hard work and keeping us safe.

Kensley Penney will have to be destroyed. Pro-military videos are poison to the country.

notagool on December 7, 2008 at 10:54 AM

Awesome! Sending that to everyone I can think of so they can get big lumps in their throat and hunt for tissues too! Way too cool not to share. Thanks!

This video reminds me of how much I hate Mac users.

Vntnrse on December 6, 2008 at 5:49 PM

Me too! I love how she doesn’t quite get that it’s real, at first. I’m sure I’d be the same way.

*sniff*

Tanya on December 7, 2008 at 7:45 PM

Just more redneck WalMart-shopping, God-fearing, family and country-loving fools who don’t know that America is the scourge of the western world; looked down upon by “everybody”.
God bless them mightily!

SKYFOX on December 8, 2008 at 5:50 AM

Perfect.

Aronne on December 8, 2008 at 9:13 AM

these videos are cute. but… dont they have an extreme liberal bias? its just kid reunited with dad all the time… why never in any other context than armed service?

Drunk Report on December 8, 2008 at 12:26 PM

Teary eyed and moved.

BiasedGirl on December 8, 2008 at 3:08 PM

I thank God for our military and their families. What a sweet child and a happy occasion for the entire family. May God continue to bless them and watch over them. This is my prayer for all who serve and those who love them.
