The fact is we were led down a path of disaster by our elected and appointed leaders who are paid to protect the public interests, not make the US a train wreck. And when the obligatory bailout came the politicians act like the lowlife scum so many are and they made sure billions in taxpayer pork was set aside to help with their reelections! Americans should be angry as hell, lynching angry! Instead the people of this nation act like a bunch of stupid sheep and even reelect many of these miscreants who, like Barney Frank, were even on tape shielding Freddie & Fannie from stronger oversight. What is it with these liberal Mass. morons, they think his smile is sexy?

It seems as long as a politician has celebrity status, almost no amount of revealed deceptiveness, incompetence & immorality can knock them out. American just love celebrities no matter what. Hillary concocts this outrageous lie about being under fire in Bosnia to appear heroic and she gets to be Secretary of State! This country is just stupid, maybe not as stupid as suicidal Britain wrt to Muslims or most of Europe but stupid enough for another depression.

I’ve finally heard some solutions to some of our economic problems that sound simple and make sense. The difference between giving a person or organization life sentence in a wheelchair and helping a person or organization though physical therapy…

I thought about that during the North American Union scuttlebut. What country can we get to replace China and subsidize our lifestyle by making goods that they will ship here? Mexico!! Due to illegal immigration much needed reforms in Mexico have been delayed. The government was able to ignore the drug wars raging below the radar which are now front and center to all Mexicans. So what is the solution to both our problems? US dollars going to Mexico to stamp out the drug cartels and in return Mexico gets to make our t-shirts. Make Mexico safer and draw their citizens back into their own country to make our products. It is a win win situation and America can avoid a much needed recession, well at least a recession deep enough to change our economy and change the way our economy works, to change our financial/political structure.

Mexico is the only place or dollars are going to be worth anything. That imbalance is going to draw capital. China will go along with it becuase they do not want the dollars they have to be completely worthless overnight, better for them to be able to bleed their dollars off slowly.

This is my biggest worry, the reform will not come. The reflation of our bubble economy will be successful. Oh well I’m going into economies and if dollars start flowing into Mexico I’m investing in Mexican commodities. Viva capitalism!

You’ll need a lot more than crossed fingers if you’re relying on “the daring black guy” to figure a way out of this mess.

The truth is Paulson has a thankless job and no matter what he does or says or how he deals with all this there will be people giving him hell. I feel kind of sorry for him. People are treating him like a dictator or whatever and he is probably counting the days until this job is someone else’s problem.

I would agree, but I think the point is that even if they cut wages, there might not be any way to save the auto industry. And I don’t care what those polls say now, if those companies fail and millions lose their job and the majority end up feeling the pinch they will blame the people who did not support the bail out. The fact that it is counter to what they said is beside the point. They will also blame conservatives, free trade, NAFTA and everyone but those wonderful liberal Democrats who are trying to save the economy blah blah blah.

And people can make all the smirky jokes about Paulson they want to, that is the reality.

Sorry. But I think a lot of this is not funny. Not funny at all.

So, yes, let them feel unemployment or elect to go back to work with a far more competitive compensation package. No amount of shoring up the big 3 will save the situation. They are headed for the footnotes of history. As a former resident of Detroit it’ll he sad to see them go. But there’s nothing we can do for them but prolong the agony unless the management AND the union contract structures are dramatically changed.

As for Paulson, he reminds me of Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford’s character) in “The Fugitive.” When Kimble was about to jump off the dam, he had the most frightened look in his eyes. Paulson has the same look. Every single day. I keep expecting him to collapse on camera. Despite his part in this whole mess, my heart goes out to the guy. I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes.

Is it Michelle MALkin (rhymes with “gal”, “pal” and “Gore Vidal”) or is it MAWLkin (rhymes with “wall”, “fall” and, of course, “gumballs”)?

I tried to check the old daily Vent videos but they don’t seem to be available in the vault. (Wussup wit dat?)

I’m pretty darn sure, though, that Michelle pronounces her name MAWLkin, yet all these hosts keep calling her “Michelle MALkin” lately.
