Breaking: Search for the real killers to be suspended for 15 years; Update: Fred Goldman unloads

Two clips, both delicious, one of this whimpering turd throwing himself a pity party, the other of the judge declining to attend. She emphasizes at 3:55 of the second vid that she didn’t take into account any matter not before the court. Right. Note the cross cuts to Fred Goldman sitting in the audience.
He and his wife daughter held a presser outside the courtroom but the clip’s not available yet. As soon as I have it, you will too. A fine ending to a slow week.
Update: It was worth the wait. “If our efforts for all these years of pushing him drove him to commit burglary, armed burglary, armed robbery, in Vegas — if that pushed him over the edge, great. Put him where he belongs.”

He’s more likely to find the killers in prison than on the golf course!

Rot, you bloodthirsty killer.

I had not heard that someone had married him. I would have thought his last break-up would have put a kibosh on that sort of thing.

Classic sociopath.

I don’t think his post-murder girlfriends were the sharpest knives in the box, pardon the pun.

Going to jail for the rest of his life. It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
Bye-bye OJ…

You’re kidding, right? Ted Bundy had ‘em swooning after his arrest, and he was prolific.

snaggletoothie on December 5, 2008 at 2:26 PM
I wonder if OJ will be a celebrity in prison? Or perhaps he will be someone’s girlfriend?
Badger40 on December 5, 2008 at 2:27 PM
Journalist kill me. I watched the whole sentencing hearing and listened to the idiotic plea from the one defense lawyer who likened the situation to the end of the Civil War with Grant meeting Lincoln to determine the fate of the South. Ashley Whats Her Name on In Session Live said it was just brilliant.
OKAY!!!
hawkdriver on December 5, 2008 at 2:29 PM
Why does each news channel have him sentenced to different times? Drudge has a link that says at least 9 years. CNN says a minimum of 6. Fox says 18.5. Some say eligible for parole in 6, another 9 – what the heck is the deal? Oh wait, FOX just said 16…… I guess I will have to watch the sentencing myself and see if it is that confusing.
JeffinOrlando on December 5, 2008 at 2:29 PM
Did anyone catch what the loud mouth thugs were screaming off camera? IT sounded like a bunch of racist OJ fans screaming at the Goldmans.
cannonball on December 5, 2008 at 2:29 PM
Finally got that pound of flesh. Happy now?
Hopefully whites can transfer their racial justice fixation to affirmative action now.
Theworldisnotenough on December 5, 2008 at 2:30 PM
He should be in prison himself for taking a bribe and providing false testimony.

Before the Update, I read the headline and thought “why is India doing this?” – you prankster.
If the BS doesn’t fit, you must not acquit. And they say there isn’t karma.

Badger40, Dee2008,

Not eligible for parole for 9 years, ABC News & CNN says.
amerpundit on December 5, 2008 at 2:33 PM
Since the election there is no more “racism”, only ‘racism’. Quit worrying about it, including “affirmative action”. No need to even mention it.

Need to close your quote on the last Update. People might think it’s your making a statement.

I know what you are saying, but as a Westerner and a Christian – I understand exactly about causality. It won’t be Karma he has to worry about.
God tends to settle accounts rather well – eternally.

Please explain…
Theworldisnotenough on December 5, 2008 at 2:40 PM
OK – my bad. It was that confusing. God forbid after all this time that a judge can’t summarize or add up what all of this means. The press sure as hell can’t do it. Now we have to hear Geraldo rant and explain it. THANKS JUDGE!

Breaking: Search for the real killers to be suspended for 15 years
BEST HEADLINE EVER
Dave Rywall on December 5, 2008 at 2:44 PM
Alright. His defense attorneys say he’s getting a minimum of 9 years, maximum of 33. The news outlets are claiming parole possibility comes up in 6-9 years, while the attorneys are saying it’s 6. There are apparently two 18-month sentences to serve after that.
If Fox News thinks he’s eligible in 9 years, and then there’s 3 years after that to serve, that’d explain their 12-year minimum line. If it’s six years, he’ll serve a minimum of 9 even if he’s eligible for parole.
amerpundit on December 5, 2008 at 2:45 PM
It seems that some are reporting the base parole eligible sentencing, some are reporting the base with the enhancements for weapons, and some are reporting the max.
Sir Corky on December 5, 2008 at 2:45 PM
“If it don’t fit, you must acquit!”
O.J.’s problem? Didn’t have Johnny Cochran to rhyme for him.
Look, they fit.
Dr.Cwac.Cwac on December 5, 2008 at 2:46 PM
Hard to make out, but they were yelling something about or to the Goldmans. The police officer about half way through moved up close behind them and was looking around like he might have expected something to happen.
hawkdriver on December 5, 2008 at 2:46 PM
What’s going on in the background? Are those people protesting his sentence, or celebrating it?
Sir Corky on December 5, 2008 at 2:49 PM
What do you mean?
Inside the Penn is the perfect place to look for “real killers”. The place is just chock full of them!
Kasper Hauser on December 5, 2008 at 2:49 PM
I just saw the same thing. It’s about time someone explained it. He can’t get out in less than 9 years at best. Hopefully he will try and slap a guard or something and never see the light of day.
JeffinOrlando on December 5, 2008 at 2:50 PM
Heard it but didn’t make out what they were saying.
I noticed that, too. Looks like several officers started to crowd around them in a protective move.

I’ve watched those folks over the years and they’ve never been anything but hurt, humble people who probably just still can’t believe they lost their son and that POS walked. If anything, they’ve always seemed a little uncomfortable being there in the spotlight, just saying what they wanted to happen to him.
hawkdriver on December 5, 2008 at 3:01 PM
Yeah, how dare they give a statement after the man who killed their son and got away with it finally gets jail time. And how dare they want to see him get sentenced. Damn attention whores. They should just disappear and shut up.

If a guy killed my son and got away with it I would be after him until the day he died. And I would absolutely celebrate wildly when he went to jail for something else. I’m glad they’ve been all over OJ since he murdered their kid – the Goldmans would be fu*king with OJ whether the media covered it or not. They’ve conducted themselves with grace and dignity over the years. It’s the media who have acted like whores.

right2bright on December 5, 2008 at 3:08 PM
Heh, check out the dude behind Goldman. He’s wearing a black tuxedo jacket trimmed with maroon rhinestones and topped off with an Obama hat. That just about sums it up.
Oh yeah, I guess this proves that what happens in Vegas really does stay in Vegas..at least for 15 years.

Do you know the Goldman family personally? Didn’t think so. Just hate spewed. They are fine people with the up most standing. Sure can’t say same for you. They just wanted Justice for their son. A Jury that wanted to make a statement that let a killer off. That is wonderful how Justice and people. As you, love to judge and call names.

Don’t feel too relieved just yet. Plaxico comes up to bat in March, 2009, Vick will be getting out shortly, to face Roger Goodell’s wrath, and Pacman may make another run at the brass ring soon. T.O. has been oddly quiet, but history dictates he’ll entertain us again soon. I blame it all on NFL’s form of affirmative action racial justice.:)
a capella on December 5, 2008 at 3:18 PM
How in the hell did that petty little crime amount to a sentence of 15+ years (essentially life, in this guy’s case)?
Sure, he probably murdered his wife and her boyfriend, but they didn’t find him guilty of it in court so that is irrelevant.
Sign of the Dollar on December 5, 2008 at 3:20 PM
Why are these charges concurrent? What’s the point? If it is a separate charge, a separate crime, why not make him pay? He only serve time for the worst crime, all the other crimes are not punished.

Gianni on December 5, 2008 at 3:22 PM
Ummm…excuse me???
Their son was brutally murdered, while on an errand for a friend…all of the evidence points to the former husband of this friend, who is a famous former football player with craploads of money and who manages to – ta dah!!! – get away with it. And now, this NARCISSISTIC ATTENTION WHORE is sentenced to prison for doing one more stupid, illegal thing that he thinks his fame and celebrity will allow him to weasel out of – and the Goldman family are “narcissistic attention whores”? You’ve gotta be kidding…

O.J. thought that he was above the laws–that they only applied to everyone else–not to him. The L.A. District Attorney Gil Garcetti gave O.J. his “get our of jail free” card when he moved the trial from Brentwood to downtown L.A. to make it a shorter commute for his legal and police types!
***
This put the trial into an area where REVERSE RACISM PREVAILED and Black jurors ignored the evidence and cut him loose. The Asian CLOWN JUDGE and his allowing T.V. in court and his not using immediate contempt of court jail time against leakers and grandstanding attorneys baked the cake.
***
Poor prosecution skills added the frosting to this earlier miscarriage of justice. A White person would have been toast in this case anyway. The DNA blood evidence and the cut on O.J.’s knife hand finger proved it all.
***
It’s good to see O.J. finally get his buckwheats. His victims and their families may get a modicum of closure–although not as much as his merited PREMEDITATED MURDER ONE actions deserved.
***
I grew up in Nevada–my dad was the executive assistant to the governor many decades ago. One of his unpleasant duties was to go to the State Pen near Carson City (the capitol) and call the governor just after midnight when an execution was scheduled. The governor gave him a code word to prove dad was really talking to the governor. Dad gave the decision to the warden–execution, commutation to life in prison, or amnesty and freedom. The governor spent a day or two before the scheduled execution and studied the trial records, newspaper accounts, etc. to make his decision.
***
O.J. will probably do his well deserved time in the new Nevada State Prison North of Las Vegas. This is in a desolate area West of the road to Reno–miles from any road near the mountains. Nevada is still a pretty conservative place–I think the parole board will keep the “juice” on ice for a long time.

To all you whiners….yes i said it. the Goldmann family are attention whores. They never saw a camera they didn’t like, making money off the death of their son. They are completely messed up, and psychotic.
Chudi on December 5, 2008 at 3:29 PM
While the judge said what she had to say to make it official, we will never know how much tougher a sentence he received than he would have received had he not murdered 2 people and got away with it. That is a factor in the sentencing. Not officially. In reality. Human nature says throw the book at him and that is what she did, more or less. Although I still don’t understand the point of concurrent sentences.
