I remember my first visit, January of 1971, it seemed there was NO WHERE you couldnt go in the Capitol. Everything was open. Ditto with the House and Senate office buildings. On other trips, I have ridden elevators with Hubert Humphrey, Scoop Jackson and Teddy. And I’m not even a democrat.

I agree with the post above. There is something wrong when the representatives feel that they have to be protected from the people. Hmmmm. Food for thought. And sad.

Well, if you have lived in Ca like you said, you would remember Gray Davis won election by nearly 58% of the vote, a few years later he was being re-called…the first Ca gov to have that happen.
Arnold ran as a conservative (though he has dropped that ball) and he was elected as that in a “delusional” liberal state.

I’ll over look the snarky side of your statement suggesting I may not have lived in SF/Marin. Gray Davis was recalled because half the Dems turned on him because of his incompetence as regards the electricity crisis in addition to Dems crossing over to elect Arnold.

It is laughable in the extreme to think that the same would happen with Boxer, Pelosi or Feinstein unless as I previously stated the state implodes. What I will say is it is not impossible as the rolling blackouts knocked Davis out but to sit around an act like it doable now is delusional. California is as Dem as you can get and will stay that way until the state government collapses under excessive debt and or taxes.

Reaganism isn’t dead here. Boxer is tied to San Francisco nuttiness, which is poison to the rest of us, and her time is done.

I am very suspicious of this visitor’s center for another reason as well. It washes all religious references from our history.

It was nice. You could get a real feel for the technical side of how things happened. A lot of those areas simply no longer are open for obvious reasons.

Boxer can only say she is a liberal and support her for that…but look at the mess (an it will just get worse in the coming months) CA is in., and the disaster it is moving towards.

If you come in, and say, “Well, if you had allowed us to do offshore drilling 5 years ago, like we asked, we would not have the current budget shortfalls?”

Continue with, your roads are horrible, your schools are terrible, and you seem to think the same people who created the problem will now suddenly get a clue and fix it….

Unseating an ultra liberal in California would be more difficult than splitting the atom with a jackhammer. California and New York State are hopeless left wing sink holes.

The homes of Ronald Reagan and Rudi Giuliani? They’re not hopeless. Prop 8 attests to that. Californians in particular often show that they’re willing to give conservative candidates a chance (see the Governator, Ahnuld).

This guy sounds like just what we need there. A solid conservative, with a consistent track record of fighting the liberal policies that are hurting their state.
