She did indeed greet The One face to face but their words are lost to history. Read the pool report anyway, though, for his exchange with Jindal.
As you’ll see, the camera didn’t catch her reaction — but this ‘Cuda’s-eye-view shot from AFP almost atones.

“This is not a Democrat or a Republican problem. We got ourselves a problem.”
Yes, it’s called Socialism. Democrats and Republicans who are Socialists.
We need a Conservative Party – now.

Poor Joe. :(

Hopenchange starts with picking as VP a guy who’s been in the Senate since Gerald Ford was president. Ah yes.
rbj on December 2, 2008 at 1:26 PM
Biden has been out of sight so much for months, he was the invisible candidate just about. I don’t remember an election in which a campaigning veep candidate (and the wife of the presidential candidate) had such little visibility.
INC on December 2, 2008 at 1:26 PM
I hereby appoint Sarah Palin as the conservative Commander-in-Chief.

Who is Joe Biden?
Btw, I wonder if he thinks VP is three letter abbreviation?
Norwegian on December 2, 2008 at 1:28 PM
Don’t you know that it was vitally important to not focus on the completely unqualified President and VP nominees for the Dems? We needed to know about Palin’s tanning bed, Darn it!!!
mjk on December 2, 2008 at 1:28 PM
I thought they still had him locked up in the closet with duck-tape on his mouth…
DL13 on December 2, 2008 at 1:29 PM
I got the impression from the interaction between them after the debate that Biden likes the ‘Cuda. They both have warm personalities and are rather loquacious.
meltenn on December 2, 2008 at 1:31 PM
Biden, “Dick Chaney is the most dangerous VP in US history.”
Sorry Joe, it looks like you are going to be the most useless VP since FDR’s 3rd VP, Henry A. Wallace.
Lance Murdock on December 2, 2008 at 1:31 PM
mjk, I know, I know.
I just read the pool report and saw the entire Biden quote:
That sounds like Joe is kind of smarting over all the attention Palin got.
It was also interesting to me that as Halperin left he noted that Sarah was typing notes on one Blackberry and had her second one there as well.
INC on December 2, 2008 at 1:32 PM
Biden is growing on me. I feel like he’s some sort of goofy consolation prize or something.
BadgerHawk on December 2, 2008 at 1:32 PM
Obama thinks having three kids is too much? I wonder what Jindal thinks.
jencab on December 2, 2008 at 1:34 PM
I think it might be time before Mr. Obama, President Elect, the Office of and his side kick Joe take office for one, just one Conservative Politician to stand up and say…………..
…………. to the Trillions being wasted, and repeat over, and over, and over, and over again that it was DEMOCRAT polices that caused this collapse, and those policies are STILL IN PLACE!!!
Seven Percent Solution on December 2, 2008 at 1:36 PM
Comedy Gold from our Future President…
If Obama is sworn in, and THEN found not to be a true citizen, Biden gets to be President…
Forward thinking Pressy’s may want to consider this as they ignore him…
Romeo13 on December 2, 2008 at 1:37 PM
Jindal is Catholic, how ever many children God blesses a couple with is OK with him.
Tommy_G on December 2, 2008 at 1:39 PM
“since the race was over no one pays attention to me”
Sorry to break the news Biden, but no one paid attention to you during the campaign…you were and are nothing but an empty suit.
right2bright on December 2, 2008 at 1:44 PM
You’re dreaming if you a democratic congress is going to take on that investigation. Obama serves until 2012, it will be up to the voters to send him back to Chicago.

Now that he is VP he lost all the fire he had when he spoke as a senator and a candidate. BHO has castrated him. This is the most boring, unsubstantial, and frankly pathetic he has ever been.(so sweet to see)
DJ from MA on December 2, 2008 at 1:49 PM
Well noted.
The ONLY place it was said whose policies caused this mess was the (now censored) SNL sketch.
A pox on all Republicans, including our president, that REFUSE to even DISCUSS the causes of this mess.
The bail outs are aptly named – we are bailing a sinking ship without even trying to find or fix (or even NAME) the damn leak!

I’m surprised he didn’t wear shades from being kept tied up and duct taped in Barry’s basement.

You’re probably going to have to go back to Harry Truman’s VP, Alben Barkley, to find a more invisible No. 2 man than Joe Biden’s going to be for the next four years, given the egos of both the president-elect and the Secretary of State nominee (so much for Joe’s foreign policy experience).

Mr.Biden it must be hard for you to realize that you are non-existent.You sound like a pining little teenage schoolboy trying to make conversation with the head cheerleader. I am so glad you are acknowledging that our Ms.Palin is now and always will be the star of the show.

IF he is prooven to be not qualified, it won’t go to Congress, it will go to the courts… because this is, at that point, a case of treason, as he has usurped the Office of the President. He will NOT be President as he will NOT have taken the Oath of Office Legally.
Constitutional Crises time… can be argued both ways (Congressional Impeachment or not)… but either way will be ugly.

It was a nice gesture for him to acknowledge Gov. Palin.

God love ya, Joe. Let’s ALL stand up for Joe.
He’s gonna need it with the two massive egos he’s going to be sandwiched in between.

My respect for Biden just notched up 3 points leaving him at -7. Joe always means well, he just can’t help himself. He is Comedy Gold though. I can’t wait until he goes to a Funeral for a Head of State and starts quoting Dr. Seuss as a Eulogy.”Oh the places we will go”.

…for his sins, Sisyphus was fated to roll a bit rock up a hill in Hades, only to watch it roll back down…for eternity….
…Wikipedia tells me that Tantalus, for his sins, was to stand in a pool of water beneath a fruit tree with low branches…whenever he reached for the fruit, the branches raised from his grasp…whenever he bent down to get a drink, the water receded before he could get any…for eternity….
…likewise, for his sins, Ixion was bound to a burning solar wheel…for all eternity….
…for his sins, Our Joe has been sentenced by Fate to freeze unseen in the shadow of his running-mate…it’ll only seem like eternity….

Barry has been inoculated long enough to get Washington-itis and he picked a guy for Veep that has a full-blown case.
Nice work.
Dr.Cwac.Cwac on December 2, 2008 at 3:08 PM
Of course Vice-President-elect Biden was conciliatory towards palin… she is God’s gift to the Democratic Party.
We need to raise her profile to make up for the small crowds of mouth-breathers who showed up in Georgia yesterday.
benny shakar on December 2, 2008 at 3:09 PM
Straying from prepared remarks, Obama said “I’m not going to allow Joe and myself to get infected with Washington-itis.”
Did he really say that?!
Oh, and Benny, who the hell do you think T.I., Young Jeezy, and Ludacris attracted at their rally yesterday? I don’t know if you’re a racial minority or not but do you really think Jim Martin is a big hip hop fan if and if not, don’t you feel extremely pandered to?
Not that you actually answer a question any poster poses to you, but what the hell, I’ll give it a try and see if you have anything legit to say for yourself, for once.

I am so proud of our country that we would elect such a ground breaking candidate to office. Yes, it is wonderful to see just how far you can get in the United States of America being mentally challenged.

Biden’s comment reminds me, we’re back at a time when the VP office isn’t “worth a bucket of warm spit” or something like that.

Beat me to it right2bright. We did our best to ignore Greasy Joe as much as possible in DE for the last thirty years. Now we get the share the “king of clichés” with the rest of the nation.

Thanks. That Biden remark gagged me, too.
Did all of the governor participants get a tire gauge as a meeting favor?

I think Joe the Bummer has kind of a crush on Palin. At least, I got that impression right after their debate since Joe wouldn’t let go of her! See here and here for example. He even seemed to take a liking to little Piper, but it looks like she tried to wiggle free.

Palin’s reaction from the ADN:
I really can see Palin and Biden as buddies. They seem to genuinely like each other, and if they’re buddies that’s a good thing for Alaska and that in turn helps Palin. It’s a nice little circle of love. All together now: awwww.
meltenn on December 2, 2008 at 10:17 PM
Apparently, the ‘Cuda had a meeting with Biden and some senior Obama staffers (separate from the meeting with Obama and the rest of the governors). From the the state of Alaska site:
This must be the conversation with Biden that she was talking about in the quote from the ADN above. There wasn’t time to have talked about all that during the grip and grin at the beginning of the meeting. The press release from her office isn’t clear on whether this was a private meeting with Biden, or if there were other governors present. The impression that I got from both her quote above and from the press release is that it was private, but it doesn’t explicitly say that so there might have been other govs there. Either way, sounds like a little fence mending on both sides (smart move on Obama’s part to have Biden take the lead on that), and it’s good thing for Palin to have a good working relationship with the administration. Any help she can get from the feds to get the pipeline built, open ANWR, etc. is good for her state and for her.
