Gee, somehow, SHOCKINGLY, instead of the appropriate 11 vote gain Franken gets from this, he got a net gain of 31. Republicans had better wake the hell up to what the democrats are doing all across this country, and have been for years. It’s pathetic that some keep denying the reality– look into what happened in the Washington govs race in 2004. They don’t just say “hey, we’re going to find the 900 votes to steal the election”. The do it incrementally– the same way they steal the culture. And no, they don’t pay for it in future elections. Those doomed to ignore history…

OMG!!! You are not going to believe this, but I was outside and thought I stepped on some gum, but when I went to check the bottom of my shoe, there were 76 ballots stuck there. All of them for Coleman!!!!!! Can you believe it? Plus, my kid told me that when he ordered lunch today, he found 18 ballots ( all for Coleman) in his sloppy joe. The lunch lady told him that “that sometimes happens”.

I’m sorry, but how the cr@p do you lose ballots?!! I think any that are “discovered” should go missing again in a ~~trash can~~criminal investigation file and the person(s) in charge should ~~lose their job~~be charged with vote fraud. Fixed it for you.

Some more interesting challenged ballots, from Washington County, initially won by Coleman 63,756 to 50,504, challenges about even (Coleman 59, Franken 51), and Coleman picked up 12 net votes in the recount.

Review of 106 challenged ballots posted on MPR: Franken 55, Coleman 44, Barkley 2, no-votes 5. Franken nets 11 votes from challenged ballots, just about erasing Coleman’s net gains in this large county. I don’t know if there’s a trend here, but three counties seem to show that reviewing the challenges will just about undo the adjustments of the recount, bringing us back to about the margin of the original count (Coleman +215).

Just for grins, I checked out the MPR ballots for Meeker County, a relatively small county won by Coleman 5,649 to 3,865 in the original count, where Franken netted 43 votes in the recount, a surprisingly large shift for a small county. There were 51 challenges by Franken and only 7 by Coleman.

The MPR site showed 52 of the 58 challenged ballots, and using the same criteria as for Hennepin County above, I got
Coleman 45 votes, Franken 4 votes, Barkley 2 votes, and 1 undervote. This would wipe out all but 2 votes of the Franken shift in this county.

Surprisingly, a lot of these voters were mismarking the ballot, most of whom marked their choices with X, not only for the Senate race, but for all races. These votes might not be picked up by the machine count, but ALL of these voters ONLY marked one candidate in each race.

Are these frivolous challenges by Franken? A lot of these voters did NOT “follow instructions” to fill in the oval, but only marked their choices by an X or check mark. But if the Canvassing Board wants to judge the “intent of the voter”, Coleman will regain most of the votes he lost here.

I wonder how many other challenged ballots in other counties have clearly-marked X’s or check marks by the chosen candidate…

Saxby would have avoided a runoff except the state let some shenanigans by Fulton County(Atlanta) occur. Those crokks took several days to do the count and gee whiz they found enough Martin votes to force a runoff! Bunch of crooks bill30097 on December 2, 2008 at 2:34 PM

Just an FYI – to avoid this; some in the current “free” republic (The One has marxed us all up yet, might want to adopt a simple idea. No 50 +1 on election day – have a redo – a la GA – much less “Shenanigans!’
