As I was reading your comment it was so eerily familiar - I could have written it, myself. The only difference would have been where you said, "Islam’s institutionalization of Bedouin tribal raiding philosophy", I like to say, "Islam is the formalization of desert arab culture."

Needless to say, I like the way you think, logis.

<blockquote>Interesting part is that the media can’t find any of these people, living or dead. Or where they died. Or where they were born in some cases!

Methinks some of us amateur genealogists need to get crakin'.

Moreover, that's the same hadith cited in the HAMAS Charter I linked previously. No hadith is more quoted from what I've seen.

<blockquote>Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him."</blockquote>

"Jew" -- not "Israeli" "western capitalist" or "European colonialist occupier."

Note: you will NEVER see HAMAS' repeated use of this hadith mentioned in the New York Times.

Notice his reference to the genocidal hadith which discusses killing Jews. It's the intrinsic Islamic Jew killing imperative nobody dares mention even when it rears its ugly head in places like Mumbai. Academics waste trillions of electrons and rainforests of paper to claim Europeans invented Jew hatred. Not quite, though some of then are really good at it, cough, Powers, cough...

Noble Logis,

I thought The One's maternal grandfather single handedly won WWII. All the bio says is that he was a Sergeant.

And the great uncle:

"Charles (Charlie) T. Payne (born 1925) served during World War II in the U.S. Army 89th Infantry Division. Obama has often described his Great Uncle Charlie's role in liberating Buchenwald concentration camp. He was assistant director of The University of Chicago's Library. There was a brief media controversy over an error made by Obama when he mistakenly said that his uncle had helped liberate Auschwitz concentration camp, when in fact he had helped liberate Buchenwald concentration camp." -- Credit to Topix on the web.

Interesting part is that the media can't find any of these people, living or dead. Or where they died. Or where they were born in some cases!

I blogged about this last night (http://www.WithBias.net) The more I find out about Ms. Powers the less I like her near the State Dept.

I'm also starting to think, the Clinton retreads are just cover for his real "appointees". Those that Do Not need to go through the confirmation process.......

The Israel-Palestine situation makes my head hurt. Any solution that doesn't equal the destruction of Israel is unacceptable to Hamas. Hard to find much room to compromise there. And yet, if we don't appear to be paying appropriate fealty to the sham "peace process," then we get dinged for being insensitive to Palestinians.

The 'liberal democracies" gave Arafat billions of dollars in the 1990s. Just like Ms. Power is suggesting. Throwing billions into a corrupt rat hole doesn't usually work out so well, except that Arafat's widow, now living in Paris, is probably happy to have absconded with much of the money intended to rebuild Palestine.

The problem is that the Dems have been out of power for so long that they have been allowed to indulge liberal fantasies without accountability for most of the past 25 years. After they learn (again) that appeasing Muslims doesn't work, what then?

<blockquote>[Hillary Clinton] invents a ‘discovered’ Jewish grandfather when seeking votes from predominately Jewish voters, but loses any possible Jewish identity when campaigning elsewhere.
Doug on December 2, 2008 at 1:53 AM</blockquote>

In the Obama cabinet, that makes her the height of authenticity.

BTW, in all that scrambling around for a birth certificate, did anybody ever get around to thoroughly checking out Obama's claim that he had a second uncle, once removed, on his mother's side, who was actually in the US military?

I know the press has promised a few months "honeymoon" period for Obama (not counting the two years before the election.) But I find a lot of this stuff pretty hard to believe, and I hope we eventually get some answers.

Israel might as well take out Iran now, since after 1/21/09 they will disappear in a blaze of glory. Hey, all you folks in New York and Florida that voted for the One, hope you can live with what you have done.

I'm not easily offended, Akzed, but you nearly got me there.
No one drop rule, no denigration of Jews intended-I was talking about the hypocrisy of HClinton. She invents a 'discovered' Jewish grandfather when seeking votes from predominately Jewish voters, but loses any possible Jewish identity when campaigning elsewhere.
See also: "I've always been a Yankees fan."
I believe HClinton will be an international disaster as SecState. Which makes her a perfect fit for the Obama administration.

Looked at the Justoneminute link provided in another thread by the captain which revealed Rice's typical leftist hypocrisy when it comes to military force and passing the "global test":

<strong>Susan Rice To The United Nations</strong>
http://justoneminute.typepad.com/main/2008/12/susan-rice-to-t.html
<blockquote>The Times tells us that Susan Rice will be the next Ambassador to the UN and highlights her opposition to some genocides:
Choice for U.N. Backs Strong Action Against Mass Killings </blockquote>

<strong>A TROUBLING UNILATERALISM: From her Times profile, Ms. Rice had interesting ideas on the importance of yet another UN resolution on Darfur:</strong>
<blockquote>In her own words: Testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on April 11, 2007, in favor of authorizing United States military action against Sudan if the genocide in Darfur continued:
...“Still others insist that, without the consent of the U.N. or a relevant regional body, we would be breaking international law. But the Security Council last year codified a new international norm prescribing ‘the responsibility to protect’” It commits U.N. members to decisive action, including enforcement, when peaceful measures fail to halt genocide or crimes against humanity.”</blockquote>

These liberals yelled and screamed that it was a mistake to take down a genocidal terrorist madman like Saddam because he posed no immanent threat, had not attacked America, and we had no approval from the UN,thus making it an "illegal war".

But have no problem having their chicken hawk leader send troops into a country that poses no threat to America, has not attacked America, and no problem going without UN approval because somehow the genocide in Darfur is worse than the genocide and wars started by Saddam Hussein.

It is absolutely incredible that this passes for intelligence in liberal circles.

Choice for U.N. Backs Strong Action Against Mass Killings

A TROUBLING UNILATERALISM: From her Times profile, Ms. Rice had interesting ideas on the importance of yet another UN resolution on Darfur:

In her own words: Testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on April 11, 2007, in favor of authorizing United States military action against Sudan if the genocide in Darfur continued:
…“Still others insist that, without the consent of the U.N. or a relevant regional body, we would be breaking international law. But the Security Council last year codified a new international norm prescribing ‘the responsibility to protect’” It commits U.N. members to decisive action, including enforcement, when peaceful measures fail to halt genocide or crimes against humanity.”

These liberals yelled and screamed that it was a mistake to take down a genocidal terrorist madman like Saddam because he posed no immanent threat, had not attacked America, and we had no approval from the UN,thus making it an “illegal war”.

<blockquote>I try to explain this to libs by telling them that islam is the political ideology built to support an ever expanding land empire. It usually goes in one ear and out the other.
progressoverpeace on December 1, 2008 at 9:55 PM</blockquote>

Liberalism is secularism. They deny that they have beliefs; whatever they happen to believe from one moment to the next is "reality," and everything that everyone else in the whole world believes is equal -- to a giant pile of sh*t. Christianity, Islam, Scientology; it's all just one huge blur to liberals.

But of course liberals have beliefs. Western liberalism is based on a stunted reflection of Judeo-Christian values, with all the spirituality sucked out - resulting in a bratty child's version of the Ten Commandments: <em>"Love everyone - except people who tell me to behave. Everyone should share all their toys - except me, etc... And as long as *I* do what feels right, then I will (somehow, magically) be rewarded in the end."</em>

Fascism and Communism spring from Islam's prime COLLECTIVE tenet: <em>"Any means is 'good' when it advances the goal of gaining land and subjects. We may feel like we're living in Hell now; but once the entire globe is under a single yoke, the world will (somehow, magically) become a corporeal Paradise."</em>

What's more, the love/hate relationship between these two utterly inimical world views isn't a coincidence either. Islam's institutionalization of Bedouin tribal raiding philosophy was created specifically to predate upon Judeo-Christian Samaritanism; and by exactly the same token, Communism was designed to parasitically exploit the openness inherent to free enterprise.

There's nothing new under the sun. From the Crusades to Tripoli; through the World Wars and into the current bouts of terrorism... the same fight has been going on for over a thousand years now. There have been lulls, but no final victories.

Progressoverpeace is probably correct in the main but few would agree.

And on logis' comment:

Polls of "mainstream" Brit Muslims showed overwhelming support for radicals about a year ago. And I have heard several anecdotal reports of an attitude of 'kill them all -just get away with it' from most moslem groups around the world including in the US.

True? I don't know.

<blockquote>At its core, Islam is a TERRITORIAL religion. There’s no gigantic difference between “fundamentalist” and “moderate” Muslims.</blockquote>
Yes. I try to explain this to libs by telling them that islam is the political ideology built to support an ever expanding land empire. It usually goes in one ear and out the other.
<blockquote>Liberals don’t understand, literally, the first thing about Islam. They mindlessly celebrate its ‘diversity’, but they don’t have a clue what that word means. They don’t understand that Islam is not the same as Christianity and Judaism. Muslims don’t have Ten Commandments. It’s an entirely different way of looking at the world. Islam is not about “right” and “wrong”; it’s about a means to an end.</blockquote>
This is a major point that so many ignore. I get incensed every time I hear someone talking about the "3 Abrahamic religions" and have to launch into an explanation that Judaism and Christianity are intimately connected while islam is just the result of plagiarism by Mo in order to insert himself into those already known religions to buy himself some instant credibility.

What gets me about islam - the real chutzpah of Mo - is that he not only stole from the Old and New Testaments, but then called Jews and Christians liars to explain the differences between his tales and the stories of the Old and New Testaments. So many Westerners are still surprised to hear what islam says about things - especially about the "lies" in the Old and New Testament.

The other (morbidly) funny thing that strikes me is how Westerners think that islam is referring to itself, Judaism, and Christianity when muslims talk about monotheistic religions. Too many Westerners (like almost all) still don't understand that muslims consider nothing but islam to be monotheistic.

:sigh:
<blockquote>Minor setbacks and PR glitches mean nothing. So-called “moderate” Muslims will NEVER do anything to stop their more adventuresome soul mates until they see that their actions are causing Islam to LOSE territory.

<blockquote>It sounds like a fundamentally undemocratic imposition of a massive foreign military force without deference to the consent of either the Palis or Israel.

It ain't gonna happen. Israel has NEVER (w the exception of the aftermath of the Hezbollah debacle in 06--thanks to bonehead Olmert) allowed peace-keeping forces to decide their destiny. Peace-keepers always stand facing the Israelis, with their backs the Arabs, making sure that Israel does not protect itself. This happened very early on in Israel's existence, and they won't go for it. Stupid college puke broad--she's doing what these "smartest guy in the room" Ivy-league types always do--pontificating about somethings she knows bupkes about.

<blockquote>Once Israel starts taking land (never to negotiate over it again) then the arabs will start calming down. Every time rockets and mortars come out of Gaza, a mile strip of Gaza needs to be annexed - never, ever, ever to be negotiated over or given away. That would stop the rocket fire faster and more completely than anything.

Harvard educated Samantha Power:

<blockquote>"...Putting something on the line might mean alienating a domestic constituency of tremendous political and financial import; it may more crucially mean sacrificing — or investing, I think, more than sacrificing — billions of dollars,..."</blockquote>

Miss Teen South Carolina:
