He’s a shoe in. In the tradition of the likes of Jefferson, Murtha, Nagin, etc. It’s only fitting that ‘The Land of The Free’ is represented by crooks, liars and thieves. He’ll fit in perfectly. It is better than him being on TV anyway.

Is Representative Murtha so unusual? The Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas of Pennsylvania have been pulling the Democratic lever for the last 70 years. The "Y" or "T" area between those cities sometimes swings the state to the Republicans. The strange thing is that Murtha was mostly from the rural area, toward the center of the state, east of Pittsburgh. However, it was a bad year for Republicans. Murtha's opponent was from outside the area (called a carpetbagger from Northern Virginia). And like numerous other Democratic legislators, Murtha brings home the earmarks. THAT is the coup de grace in many areas. The Republicans have to find a solution to earmarks and stay virtuous if they ever get empowered again.

The criteria to be a volinteer for Chris are as follows.
1. Can’t be grossed out by having spit hit you in the face during a normal coversation with Chris.
2. Can’t be offended when Chris gets an erection whenever in the presence of a Obama picture.
3 Must love all liberal ideas and endorse them unless they come from the mouth of Kieth Oberman. Embrace the ideas but don’t give Oberman the credit.
4 Woman must have hair no longer than Rachel Maddow.
5.Men must either be gay or bisexual or if not either of the two be willing to die for their right to marry.
6 Be willing to support our troups in every war but openly hope we lose every war.
7 Hate the Clintons before every election but love them after Obama puts yet another one of their cronies in his cabnet.
8 Have a open pocketbook and a willingness to get your old folks in retirement homes to give their money the mathews campaign.
9 Last and not least be ready willing and able to vote as many times as possible and then after turned away at the 34th precinct declare that your voice was not heard and your disenfranchised dispite already voting 33 other times.

It was bad enough that my home state elected Murtha for another term? Now if they elect Matthews, I’m going to stop telling people where I grew up. If it weren’t for the Steelers I would have already disowned them…

I can’t imagine the political climate will be worse for the GOP in two years, although that’s for the same reason I can’t imagine the economy will be much worse: It’s not based on reason so much as avoiding nausea at the very thought.

Ed, the economy hasn’t even begun to falter. Repeating the severe recession of the early 1980s would be an optimistic scenario at this point. By this time next year, people will be wishing they had the economy of 2008.

Eh. Like him or not, Specter has a very high approval rating here in Pennsylvania. Matthews will have to defeat that, not to mention his brother’s bad reputation here.

Murtha is Not a Senator..he is a Congressman. The people of Pennsylvania did not re-elect Murtha…the people of the 12th district of Pa. re-elected him.

I live in Pa and Im getting sick and tired of everyone saying we ALL re-elected him. Only the people who live in his district can vote for him.

As for Mathews running for Senator…ewwwwww.

Am I the only one that really, reaslly wants Chrissy Matts to run? I swear, if he does, we need to make his opponent, whether its Specter or not, the best funded republican in 2010. I’ll give till it hurts. If he actually has the testicular fortitude to run and come out of his protective cocoon, this gives us a chance to slam his silly, unfair, Obama-loving ass. And Palin needs to go to PA to campaign against him. Let’s hammer this MSMoron, and then pray that Olberloser runs for governor of what ever state he is from.
