Actually, no. It’s the fact that the Indian law enforcement structure is impotent. If your counter-terrorism agents and local police will not fire their weapons at terrorists who are slaughtering civilians in the public square, then you don’t have a counter-terrorism unit or a local police department.

The terrorists aren’t terrible concerned about parking tickets.

Yes, of course, one article by a journalist proves the authorities did nothing. The terrorists, having reached the end of their ammunition stocks, just popped each other in the head and went to their 72 virgins.

Perhaps the cop mentioned in the article didn’t fire his weapon because he wasn’t in a very good position to do so. Perhaps he didn’t want to draw attention to himself because he had civilians nearby. Not my place to second guess him.

It’s not PC that’s causing them to take so long. It’s
1. The possibility of hostages
2. Not wanting to allow the terrorists to destroy the building which is a historical monument (was constructed by J N Tata as a snub to the King of Britain in the early 1900s)

The terrorists want to blow it up like their own J W Marriott in Pakistan was. We don’t want to let that happen.

Besides, an all out offensive on terrorists holed up with hostages is a Russian tactic, not an Indian one. We take our time and finish the job effectively.
