Umm- No. Impeachment is not conviction, that’s why the impeachment process for Clinton included a vote to convict & remove from office, or to acquit. He was not convicted, hence remained in office.

There are multiple articles (I think some referred to in this thread) which talk about the senators who voted to convict or acquit him.

Well, to be fair the Senate didn’t actually do that, it just went through the motions. And considering the senators we already have, would Senator Bill really lower the tone?

Well impeachment happened but conviction didn’t so I guess its possible for him to be a senator. I doubt he wants to give up his presidential pension and other perks however.

Maybe Scotus but I’m not sure about that either. Maybe he’ll take a job with the secret service strip searching the female visitors to the whitehouse.

You betcha alot of Dems in that area. I am actually in Getzville, home of country-club Republicans and limousine Liberals… I enjoy the company of neither. Here I am a Canadian, in NY,that votes like Southern Republican (Conservative through and through) how’s that for out of place?

I’ll be really, really surprised if he does this. It might cut into his lucrative speaking/writing career. Though he may have to back off on that anyway if Hillary is S.O.S. Hmmm….

Johnson served as President, was impeached but not convicted, then served as senator. He died early in his senate term. I think he was also in the house of representatives before his presidency, but I’m not positive about that part.

So, Clinton wouldn’t be the first President to later serve as Senator, nor even the first impeached one to do so.
