Even in spite of all of that, I’ll probably still go to the polls and punch the button for Saxby “Chicken Sandwich” Chambliss.

All I need is a button to wear that says, “I Voted For The Chicken Sandwich.” Something reminiscent of the 1991 Edwin Edwards-vs.-David Duke campaign in Louisiana, where buddies of mine left the voting booth chanting (or wearing) the slogan, “I voted for the crook.”

I saw that too. How much you want to bet those rallies will be sold out? She’ll pull Saxby over the finish line.

GA is a red state (McCain won it by 5 points) and Chambliss is the incumbent. Why isn’t he doing better in the polls? Is there something in his voting record that people dislike?

I think his sabotage of the house Republicans’ #dontgo energy bill efforts is still fresh in the minds of many Georgia conservatives.

1) On committee which crafted the Amnesty legislation (Remember that? He helped write it)

2) On committee which crafted the Senate energy bill they are trying to hoist on us. (You know the one which consist of wait on the wind and ride a bike.) What really frosted my butt on that one is at the same time the Gang of Whatever was taking to the podium and microphones to announce this plan, Nancy Pelosi was adjourning the House and turning out the lights on the Republicans without bringing up their energy bill for a vote and she went on her 5 week book tour.

3) Was in the lead in crafting the bailout legislation which has let the genie out of the bottle now.

In regards to point #3 it is comical down here in regards to the commercials being run by the Dems. Last night in back to back commercials the first one blasted Saxby for voting for the $700 Billion bailout and then the next one accused him of blocking the Obama Economic Recovery Plan, which consists of just more of the same.

The problem is DeKalb County.

Yes, the crime, the horrible test scores, the reliance on the gov’t, the questionable elemen……oh, you mean voting.

Why isn’t he doing better in the polls?

Like Isackson, he’s a typical GOP suit. No one can name a single thing that either has done except to follow what the party tells them to do. They could stay at home & let the RNC cast their ballots for them; they wouldn’t be different than what they do.

And as we’ve all found out, RNC does not equal conservative.

Democrats have the audacity to blame Saxby for the crap sandwich bill and all of the economic troubles we are experiencing.

Well he is an incumbent and incumbents get blamed for what is happening. Not that shocking really. And Saxby DID vote for the bailout which to be is unacceptable. Not to mention he was initially for amnesty. Not to mention he was one of the architects of the original mortgage bailout bill that cost $300B. Not to mention he was one of the Gang of 10.

I mean yeah I want him to win so that Obama doesn’t get 100% of what he wants. But in reality Saxby is just a little bit better than Martin would be. Saxby is a moderate liberal. Martin is a full blown liberal.

Very telling.

He can’t afford to spend political capital this early and come up short.

I like the commercial where Saxby is saying that he doesn’t know what a “recession” means. Nice splicing.

In the past, when we’ve had run-offs here in Georgia, hardly anyone shows up to vote. Although here in Gwinnett County, there have been long lines to vote early. The problem is DeKalb County.

I’ll be another one holding my nose too.

It makes me chuckle whenever I hear someone talk about how Obama ran the cleanest, most honest campaign in history.

Effective? Highly. Honest? Not so much.
