I’ve seen meteors break up and turn different colors. There’s a scientific name for it but I forgot it.

I think scientists call it “breaking up and turning different colors.”

It looked an awful lot like the saucers landing in the 1953 “War of the Worlds.” Maybe we should check Obama’s birth certificate again, just to be sure. If it says “MARS” on it, that could be a red flag. It could explain the apparent mind-rays that mesmerized the lefty crowds.

I actually witnessed one of those up close. I was in the Navy and we were on a deployment. I was standing a watch outside at night, and then the whole night sky just lit up in this bright blue light. I could actually hear it and everything. It was amazing.

Yeah, I’m not sure about the year, but I think that’s the one that scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. I was in bed with my eyes closed, and my whole room lit up for a moment. I was too scared to move–I just froze and talked myself into thinking it was a dream. I found out much later it hit hundreds of miles away.

I’m shocked to hear the tonnage of the thing (estimated of course)

About five years ago, My wife and I were walking one night in Torrington, WY when we saw something of comparable brightness and all that.

Next day we expected big news about it. Nothing. No mention of it at all. I know Wyoming is sparsely populated but I figured even in Wyoming on a late Saturday night someone besides the two of us saw it. We figured it was not very big, just burned bright. However, it might have been the size of this thing.

I’ll bet one of my old friends is there now. You guys have any idea how much decent chunks of meteorite are worth? He has made millions chasing new meteorite falls, and picking up the pieces of old ones.
