“For their part, the media have no reservations. Like a schnauzer toggling behind its hobo master, the press will weld itself to Obama and lick his hand whenever he sees fit to acknowledge them. Chris Matthews came out of his red-brown closet and declared that he will do everything in his power to make sure that Obama’s presidency works. Yet how could his new labors surpass his old verbalizations? Other media sources have deliberately buried evidence concerning their hero’s most (more?) alarming associations. Their machinations ensured that the electorate backed a man for whom not only they, but a couple of prominent journalists as well, know little about. Already, the press covers Obama’s flank. Manufactured stories about the alleged anger of ‘right-wingers’ and polls documenting the president-elect’s soaring favorability ratings have appeared, even though he has yet to complete a day of work.”

“It’s the most disgusting failure of people in our business since the Iraq war.”

This is like the Taliban suggesting that we should all work together after a beheading.
Chapin is exactly right.
Screw Obama

History lesson, I promise, a short one:
“10So Samuel spoke all the words of the LORD to the people who had asked of him a king. 11He said, “This will be the procedure of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and place them for himself in his chariots and among his horsemen and they will run before his chariots. 12“He will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and of fifties, and some to do his plowing and to reap his harvest and to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. 13“He will also take your daughters for perfumers and cooks and bakers. 14“He will take the best of your fields and your vineyards and your olive groves and give them to his servants. 15“He will take a tenth of your seed and of your vineyards and give to his officers and to his servants. 16“He will also take your male servants and your female servants and your best young men and your donkeys and use them for his work. 17“He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his servants. 18“Then you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day.” 1 Sam 8:10-18
The people of Israel were warned that a human king would become their tyrant. Saul delivered tyranny in spades.
Obama is no messiah, but I do think that they people who clamored for his election are going to regret their choice.

I’m trying hard to think of one “journalist” I have respect for and it’s tough.
We have the unhinged (Olbermann), the self-promoters (O’Reilly), the overtly biased (Mitchell), the unprepared (Colmes), the disrespectful (Shuster), the ones with misplaced arrogance (Shep Smith), the bootlickers (Matthews), the ones who love the sound of their own voice (Scarborough), those that should not take up space (King and Cafferty), the stupid (Sanchez), the smug (Kristol) and the cute token sidekicks (Mika).
I miss Tim Russert.

I do, too. I was listening to Hannity when he received the news. He said that something terrible had happened. he verified it first before he announced it.
Hannity is right, “The is the year Journalism died.”

Who delivered them from Saul?…
David.
And who will deliever us from “our Saul”?
Messiah Ben David.
The conquering King.

I remember Hannity saying that. You would think that at least one of them would aspire to become the next Russert. They missed the boat on that one.

The first reporter who can at least unmask the fact that Obama is, at best, a troubling Cipher, will take the needed initial step back from pure pimping, by the Media, and toward real journalism, again.

I actually had a couple of friends who voted McCain who said similar things to me. I said, yep, just like the dems supported Bush right?
