Video: Metaphor of the day

posted at 9:15 pm on November 21, 2008 by Allahpundit

I can’t make up my mind on this one. Either it’s Obama trying to enact his economic policies with free-market capitalism in the way or it’s Hillary trying to run America’s foreign policy with Obama himself in the way. Your call.

My call: random excuse to post up another mildly disturbing video.

Palin in the way of Noonan, Brooks, et al.

Free Constitution on November 21, 2008 at 9:20 PM

I never liked those flip throws. Maybe it was because I couldn’t do one, but I was pretty good at throwing it as far as I wanted without the showy acrobatics.

Count to 10 on November 21, 2008 at 9:21 PM

America is in blue, Obama and his administration are in white.

SouthernGent on November 21, 2008 at 9:21 PM

So who takes one upside the head? Obama or Hillary?

Dee2008 on November 21, 2008 at 9:21 PM

Thought face-ball was un-PC and banned.

joey24007 on November 21, 2008 at 9:25 PM

I would feel sorry for the kid, but that’s what he gets for playing soccer.

Spirit of 1776 on November 21, 2008 at 9:25 PM

I have no idea who the guy in white is, but the guy in blue just won the “Biggest Pro-Censorship Ass-Hat” award over at The Infidel Blogger Awards

ok, you’re right. it’s lame…

homesickamerican on November 21, 2008 at 9:28 PM

That’s gonna leave a mark. I’m going with option one: Obama vs. free-market capitalism.

meltenn on November 21, 2008 at 9:29 PM

Well, there’s another tape showing that the kid got up – whoozily – wiped the blood off his face, and kept playing.

Dumb sport.

SteveMG on November 21, 2008 at 9:29 PM

That’s gonna leave a mark!

I think this is more painful,..

Holy crap. That ding dong is the only one in the world that didn’t know what was about to happen. How could he possibly be that stupid?

Glad he’s ok. Sometimes stupidity of that magnitude is fatal.

Jaibones on November 21, 2008 at 9:57 PM

Me and my doglet laughed our butts off, I’m sorry to say.

Fortunata on November 21, 2008 at 10:24 PM

I always wanted to see something like this in basketball when a defender is really crowding the line of the inbounder. I’m sure it would be a technical foul and probable ejection, but it would probably get you a small cushion of fear when throwing it in the next time.

TugboatPhil on November 21, 2008 at 10:39 PM

Son of a….. that’s gonna leave a mark.

I hope it’s both with the same result! The free market can take one to the face as long as the socialism ball flies away.

HornetSting on November 21, 2008 at 10:55 PM

The kid in blue is Barack Obama, gettin’ his socks and other charming accoutrements ready for those world changing meetings. The kid in white is Dmitry Medvedev or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or anyone else The One isn’t really ready for.

eeyore on November 21, 2008 at 11:10 PM

Heh, I’ve done that, minus the flip though

HornetSting on November 21, 2008 at 11:23 PM

Ejection at a minimum. He should get at least a 3 game suspension. Where does the idiot think he is, the Circus?

Hillary on the throw in, Barack being whooped upside the head for making her his Secretary of State!!!!

The ball????? The Black and White ball, represents the entire population that’s going to be saying, “I TOLD YOU SO”!!!!

HarryStar on November 21, 2008 at 11:35 PM

If you want to see a 3 yr old Hillary-in-the-making, watch this hysterical 30 sec vid. It’s gotten over 11 MILLION HITS ON YOUTUBE! Maybe you’ve already seen it (He’s gonna kick my asK?”)

Mojave Mark on November 22, 2008 at 12:17 AM

Neither, just another boring clip of the world’s most boring game.

right2bright on November 22, 2008 at 12:35 AM

I did something very similar to that on a free throw to a ref once. Got me a red card for it. I probably could of gotten away with it (the ref is considered part of the playing field) except he heard me telling my team mate I was going to do it. The ref was the worst ref I have ever seen, and now many, many years later I still don’t regret it. Nobody video taped games back then though.

albertpale on November 22, 2008 at 12:56 AM

That made me laugh. What did that guy standing in the way think was going to happen? The idiot got what he deserved. Thanks for sharing. Loved it!

ThackerAgency on November 22, 2008 at 1:43 AM

Another girly move in another girly game captured on another girly video. When you get some Rollerball clips send me an email.

Limerick on November 22, 2008 at 2:13 AM

Looked more like Cheney’s last minute endorsement of McCain…. that hurt.

lexhamfox on November 22, 2008 at 2:24 AM

Watched the longer clip, where the kid then proceeds to wipe the blood off his face and keep playing. But this is a girly sport? Go to Germany and see a Bundesliga game. Positively brutal. And get off your American moronics about a sport that is considerably more exciting than baseball, and doesn’t take a break for TV commercials every 45 seconds.

Spc Steve on November 22, 2008 at 2:29 AM

The victim can’t be Hillary for both metaphoric and literal reasons.

No man on earth would dare throw their balls at her face.

NightmareOnKStreet on November 22, 2008 at 4:21 AM

Hey, if you’re gonna stand that close to the sideline at the throw-in, you might get hit. I bet that kid leaves a few yards cushion next time around…

I’d say it’s Michelle O the first time Barack tries to stand up to her on an issue.

sheesh on November 22, 2008 at 8:10 AM

I’m thinking it’s John McCain in white and the Republican Party in blue.

Buy Danish on November 22, 2008 at 8:19 AM

Ouch.

If you’ve ever had a kid who played soccer, that’s not really very funny.

drjohn on November 22, 2008 at 8:54 AM

Team Obama in white and Team McCain in blue.

“No doubt we’ll get back to the “rough and tumble” of the campaign, but tonight/today I’d like to just congratulate/celebrate with my opponent/the nation …….. ”

OUCH!

And that’s why I oppose all efforts to make this foreign sport popular in our country.

It would be very hard for that punk to do something like that again once you planted a foot 4 inches into his groin area. Just saying.

Actually, if I were to give a card for that, it would be to the blue player for failure to respect the required distance.

But I’d probably let it go with the knowledge that he got so seriously PWND!!11!
