Video: Palin rocked by Turkeygate

posted at 10:07 pm on November 20, 2008 by Allahpundit

Starts cute, then takes a turn at around 2:30. Pay attention to the mocking chyrons as the video rolls, which are par for the course on this network for this particular politician. They could have and should have treated this lightly, as a shared laugh at a goofy moment, but Shuster’s tone at the very end says it all.

Adding to the discomfort: Hearing the ‘Cuda repeatedly utter the word “amnesty.” Shudder.

What a cold hearted b-itch! Palin’s lucky Alaska doesn’t have the death penalty or I would’ve had done to her what was done to that turkey!

Hey fluffer,
You choke your chicken and nobody wants to kill you!

Did you just threaten the Governor of Alaska?

No.

Did you just threaten the Governor of Alaska?

Actually he did, and I just send a screen copy of it to the FBI tipline.

Bishop on November 20, 2008 at 11:06 PM

The good news is that death did not prevent the turkeys from still casting their ballots for the Democrat candidate.

Texas Rainmaker on November 20, 2008 at 11:07 PM

It’s just amazing that when Sarah shows up even with a bunch of turkeys, people just can’t stop talking about her…even me. What a gal she is.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! You too, Sarah and family and many more.

I couldn’t stand that guy when he was at Fox News. The turkey thing was less disturbing than Shuster. Hes a mouth breather and has an unnatural ability to produce endless strings of saliva. I bet his camera man has to wear a rain slicker.

Bald Igle on November 20, 2008 at 11:12 PM

She is just such a happy person with a GREAT life.

She is, and that’s why she’s not a liberal. Liberal’s hate happy people, they want everybody miserable like them. That’s why they hate Sarah so much, she doesn’t let their hate get to her.

Anyone whose ever gone deer hunting and cleaned their own kill will find this as proof positive Sarah Palin is as American as it gets.

In another year of Barryville, we’ll all be cleaning our own dinners, so they should take some tips from Joe the Turkey Slaughterer there in the background.

Good luck with that, girly man. There’s nothing inhumane about the way those turkeys died.

BadgerHawk on November 20, 2008 at 10:28 PM

When I was a kid, we would have tweezers on the table at thanksgiving because half of the meal was game we shot during small game season: Pheasant, Quail, Rabbit, Squirrel, and once in a great while, grouse..

When I met my wife I was wondering what her take would be on my hunting small game and deer. No problem, her dad was a butcher and she was often there as he dressed beef and pig.

When my parents were kids, they never bought a dead chicken. Every chicken was live and kept in cages outside or in the basement until just before dinner.

What a bunch of beta males out there. Only a castrati metrosexual would see anything wrong with killing, dressing and eating a turkey.

bullseye on November 20, 2008 at 11:25 PM

sanclemman on November 20, 2008 at 11:25 PM

Some people need to grow up or start eating only tofu. Asshats. We raise our own animals on my micro-farm, including turkeys, and some lambs and goats next year. It will be required that my 10 year old boy help us slaughter. He isn’t overjoyed, but understands that with stewardship, comes responsibility.

Wait wait wait – you’ll telling me that the turkeys that aren’t pardoned get killed? And then we eat them as part of some barbaric nationwide tradition? I call on Sarah Palin to condemn this senseless slaughter immediately!

I like it because it shows how comfortable Palin is around real people doing you know- real stuff- like kill turkeys.

Compared to the earlier cheesy pardon when she was clearly amused by the cheesy absurdity of it.

I’m sick of politicians who are so focused on appearances that they would decide to avoid truthful backdrops in favor of deceptive ones.

I agree that there wasn’t anything wrong that Sarah did..

BUT..

1. Someone mentioned it here before.. she does need to get a PR person, at least, someone who can be aware of Sarah’s environment and help show that in a neutral settting..
(Uh, Sarah, we might not want to see turkeys being decapitated behind you) If anything, just to keep those douche bags at PMSNBC from trying to spin anything they see of her and say, ‘yeah, what a bimbo.’

2. The Newies helped set that up too.. placing the turkey killer in the frame with her so people will see what was going on.

3. The Turkey pardons are the stupidest thing I have ever heard of.. oh, pardon the one.. but we are still going to have a turkey dinner.. I never understood it.. I know it’s for a cute publicity stunt.. but ti’s still stupid.

I mentioned it and I do believe that she needs somebody to help her set the message because you have to remember that, unfortunately, many Americans don’t pay attention to the news and politics like we do … they only get what the media decides to tell them … therefore Palin is a bimbo, people won’t check her record

Ah, the turkey was exposed for about the first half of the video…then they hid it’s head.
Again, forgive me, were they afraid it’s family was going to recognize it? Was it a potential candidate for the turkey protection program? Was it’s spouse going on Oprah tomorrow?
I’m sorry, but the “shielding of the turkey” was just too, too precious!
