I think it is the TWO MINUTE WARNING FOR ISRAEL NOW. They will probably strike the Iran nuke sites before President Bush leaves office. The lack of "bunker buster" bombs can be made up for by using some of Israel's own nukes. Anyone who has seen the earthquake like ground waves at the Mercury, Nevada test site knows what happens when an underground nuke goes off--if you can get it to penetrate into the ground. This also limits the fallout and destruction to above ground targets located away from the explosion site.

The real question is whether the Israeli leaders can read the "HANDWRITING ON THE WALL" or not. Benjamin Netanyahu can--but I do not think the negotiation friendly lady PM candidate or the current PM know their A**es from a hot rock. There is a lot of this going around on the world leader stage now.

The historical lesson of Hitler's rise to power was France's failure to hit Germany with an all hands on the battlefield WW1 type attack in 1934 when he broke the peace agreements. The cost would have been much less--in life and treasure to all persons if they had taken him out then. Instead they did the Neville Chamberlain talk / treat with your enemies thingie--we all know how well that worked out.

Israel is in the same position that France was--standing alone, with worthless / impotent / unwilling (USA) "allies" and "friends". The time for talking is over--they must

I hope your family stays safe. I don’t know if you read the opinion piece in the JP about how far Obama’s support would go, but no one believes he would send everything that will fly, but I trust Israel to take care of its citizens (and the rest of us in the bargain).

The original is gone, but here is a quote from it: http://thenewnixon.org/2008/07/02/obama-not-the-old-nixon/

So many of Israel’s own American’s, sold them out! I don’t know many that don’t love Israel. Maybe not politicians (some), But I worry all the time. I have a Aunt and Uncle there. Not sure what will happen. The One said they had his support? Like he has said many words. I hope Israel doesn’t wait around.

Why, whatever can you possibly be hinting at, Laura? HRH, The One, has stated his unequivocal support and respect for Israel in the strongest possible terms, has he not?

Are you suggesting that he might have said one thing, but intends to do something else?

Ross Douthat expects Obama to act, as do I, which is what I’ve always thought was the subtext of Biden’s notorious appeal to the left to “stand with him” when he eventually has to act to avert crisis. Exit question: What’s a Hopenchangey president to do?

Allahpundit

And you think that based on what, exactly? One of Biden's myriad neurotic campaign stammers?

Seriously?

Remember, all because Obama is willing to talk without pre-conditions doesn't mean Iran is:

Iran's Vice President Sets Two Preconditions for Talks with US
http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=8707210851

TEHRAN (FNA)- Vice President for Media Affairs Mehdi Kalhor said on Saturday that Iran has set two preconditions for holding talks with the United States of America.
In an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency, he said as long as U.S. forces have not left the Middle East region and continues its support for the Zionist regime, talks between Iran and U.S. is off the agenda.

Iran also has conditions on what it is willing to even talk
about:

Iran says its right to enrichment is non-negotiable
Sat May 31, 2008 6:43am EDT
http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSL3128545120080531

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran will not give up its right to enrich uranium, a senior Iranian official said on Saturday, days before major powers submit an upgraded package of incentives to try to coax Tehran into halting the work.
"Suspending enrichment is not negotiable ... Depriving Iran of its right cannot be on offer," Gholamhossein Elham, the government spokesman, told a weekly news conference.

So Iran has set unattainable terms for talks and the talks
can not even involve the most important issue at hand.
The UN and EU have failed in getting Iran to do anything of
relevance towards "real" disclosure of their nuclear program
and stopping enrichment.

BUT HAVE NO FEAR!!!
MR. HOPE AND CHANGE IS HEAR!!!

All because Obama could dazzle a bunch of ignorant liberals
and some clueless independents into his messiah routine doesn't mean it is going to work on international terrorist leaders.
They don't hold failed community organizers in the same God like manner that democrats here do.

Here is a good hint at how Mr. Hope and Change is going to save the world from a nuclear Iran:

Obama Pledges ‘Aggressive’ Iran Diplomacy

By MICHAEL R. GORDON and JEFF ZELENY
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/02/us/politics/01cnd-obama.html?_r=2&ei=5088&en=6e53bced62b78a88&ex=1351656000&oref=slogin&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss&pagewanted=all&oref=slogin

CHICAGO, Oct. 31 — Senator Barack Obama said he would “engage in aggressive personal diplomacy” with Iran if elected president, and would offer economic inducements and a possible promise not to seek “regime change” if Iran stopped meddling in Iraq and cooperated on terrorism and nuclear issues.

Making clear that he planned to talk to Iran without preconditions, Mr. Obama emphasized further that “changes in behavior” by Iran could possibly be rewarded with membership in the World Trade Organization, other economic benefits and security guarantees.
“We are willing to talk about certain assurances in the context of them showing some good faith,” he said in the interview at his campaign headquarters here. “I think it is important for us to send a signal that we are not hellbent on regime change, just for the sake of regime change, but expect changes in behavior. And there are both carrots and there are sticks available to them for those changes in behavior.”

Yes sir, this is just the ticket.
This "carrot and sticks" routine with genocidal leaders hell bent on the destruction of their supposed enemies worked out
so well with Hitler,Kim Jong,Saddam,Rwanda,Darfur..oh..wait a minute...this was all a complete failure.
Damn,it sounded like it would work when we were talking about it in the classroom with the other intelligent elites.

I wouldn’t surprised if Israel strikes Iran before Bush leaves office.

In about 2 years Iran along with its proxies Hezbollah, Hamas and Syria will coordinate an all out attack against Israel. Once the Iranians have figured out how to fit small (kiloton or just plain "dirty")warheads along with bio-chem payloads into existing missile systems like the antiship C-802 that are already in Lebanon and the SCUD type systems in Syria, they're good to go. They will also wait for the vast majority of American troops to be out of Iraq. Watch for the withdrawl of US aircraft and bases from Iraq, the X-band radar from Israel and the installation of the S-300 SAM systems in Iran. Israel best pull the trigger soon before the game clock runs down!

Thanks, I was indeed being sarcastic. Every time I hear Iran mentioned, that little gem from The One pops in my head and makes my blood boil (Okay, anything even remotely related to Obambi makes me furious, but his complete lack of regard for the safety of all Americans and our allies just ticks me off.)

Amen. Israel deserves much more support and respect than the West gives it.

WASHINGTON, Dec. 3 — A new assessment by American intelligence agencies concludes that Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003 and that the program remains frozen, contradicting judgment two years ago that Tehran was working relentlessly toward building a nuclear bomb.

And a pig with lipstick flew over the moon, emitting methane and creating global lunar warming, while Osama bin Laden declared "Peace in our Time", and all was bliss in the Land of Kool-Aid. New York Times shareholders then sold their stock to seek higher profits by buying General Motors.

Would a clueless preconditionless summiteer dare to act against Iran?

Probably not. But then again, Bush might.
