Dear Shep,
You’re a tool.

Shut-down. Nicely done, Shep.
Tacitus_SGL on November 18, 2008 at 5:41 PM
I may have to do a few revisions of my opinion of ole Shep. For once, he’s right on.
katieanne on November 18, 2008 at 5:42 PM
one of the few times I agree with Shep
CaCa on November 18, 2008 at 5:43 PM
Sheppy doesn’t like being confronted or disagreed with, it’s not the issue, it’s that he is being attacked.
Bishop on November 18, 2008 at 5:43 PM
Shep doesn’t give his political opinion.
terryannonline on November 18, 2008 at 5:43 PM
Shep’s teh ghey but not conservative.
txsurveyor on November 18, 2008 at 5:43 PM
That’s PREPOSTEROUS! LOL
Seriously, Shep’s just getting weirder and weirder.
jr.ewing.78 on November 18, 2008 at 5:44 PM
Shep is trying to kiss up to conservatives again after last week’s fiasco.
jencab on November 18, 2008 at 5:44 PM
Wow, Shep just plays a liberal on TV! I never knew.
He’s even attacking Helicopter Ben for money printing!

Nope, no way he is.

ProudPalinFan on November 18, 2008 at 5:46 PM
how do his comments make him a liberal? sounds like a free marketer to me.
moseby on November 18, 2008 at 5:46 PM
So this Shep fellow is against a government bailout for private industry and that means he not a conservative?
What am I missing?
sharrukin on November 18, 2008 at 5:47 PM
I know someone who interned at FNC – said Shep’s a cool guy and most definitely a conservative…at least that’s what he calls himself.
robink on November 18, 2008 at 5:47 PM
Shep and common sense haven’t been friends for some time…I guess the addage about a blind squirrel finding a nut every once in awhile is true…
Gohawgs on November 18, 2008 at 5:48 PM
He sure do got sum o’ dem purdy eyes.
yomomma on November 18, 2008 at 5:48 PM
Shep is a FOX News liberal. They’re all a little confused.
D0WNT0WN on November 18, 2008 at 5:49 PM
Shep thought GM was a country.
CanadianGuy on November 18, 2008 at 5:49 PM
Does anyone remember Shep’s position on the mortgage bailout? I seem to recall he was pushing hard for it and blaming Congress for not getting it done.
So now he’s against bailouts. He’s confused, but then, so are a lot of us.
Dee2008 on November 18, 2008 at 5:49 PM
Gallup: Republicans oppose bailout for Big Three 65/35. Independents oppose bailout by 53/41. Only Democrats favor bailout 60/36.
I don’t think it’s only about conservatism, though it certainly can be a winning issue for conservatives. Independents are tired of their money going to bailout failed businesses, too.
amerpundit on November 18, 2008 at 5:49 PM
Shep is funny sometimes but I’m inclined to believe he isn’t a Conservative by my definition. He was right in this case though.
Guardian on November 18, 2008 at 5:50 PM
Way to go Shep…for a change.
baldilocks on November 18, 2008 at 5:51 PM
O Knower of All, I do not understand……can Shep not ask a simple question about Israel of Joe the Plumber without having to be witch-tested for conservatism?
matoko_chan on November 18, 2008 at 5:52 PM
I think you mean Megyn Kelly
The Monster on November 18, 2008 at 5:52 PM
Shep is like a broken clock.
Even a blind mouse finds the glory hole once in a while, know what i mean?
coondawg on November 18, 2008 at 5:53 PM
I sat slack-jawed and incredulous as Shep rabidly denied the existence of MSM bias last week in a panel discussion. I find such an amazing lack of perception in a newsman downright Rathersome.
troyriser_gopftw on November 18, 2008 at 5:53 PM
Shep gets it right every so often. But not nearly often enough.
I don’t even like the term ‘bailout’. From now on it should be called ‘embezzlement’ with respect to Congress’ actions and ‘extortion’ with respect to the companies’ demands.
progressoverpeace on November 18, 2008 at 5:54 PM
One issue a conservative does not make.
lorien1973 on November 18, 2008 at 5:54 PM
Looks like Shep purchased some stones at Neiman Marcus. Must have gone shopping with the ‘Cuda.

No – he just sometimes wants to act like he’s got a pair.

Take a look at the picture of Shep on the main page. Isn’t that the look your cat gives you when you wake him up from a nap?

I dare that dude to email Meghan
Hold on, I’ll ask Megyn what she would do:
*honey…would you hammer an emailer like the guy who criticized Shep?*
Megyn said she would go off like a nukyaler bomb on a jerk like that.

Are you mixing metaphors?
tru2tx on November 18, 2008 at 5:57 PM
Nice.
CP on November 18, 2008 at 5:57 PM
Shep’s probably having some emotional conflict. Maybe something’s going on in his life that makes him a schizophrenic liberal/conservative hybrid. I dunno. Shep’s a reporter; he’s just doing his job.
Achilles on November 18, 2008 at 5:57 PM
Sincere question:
i was sitting with 3 other guys at the local cigar shop this afternoon. Fox News Channel was on, and when Shep went off regarding that email the question arose…
Is this show on Fox meant to be News or Comment? I have no trouble with either, but I thought Sheps’ show was a news show, not a commentator show. When Cavuto wants to make an editorial comment, I’ve seen him sequey (sp?) to a different segment and his signature is displayed, and it is obvious he is expressing an opinion.
Y’all’s thoughts on this?
Red State State of Mind on November 18, 2008 at 5:57 PM
Shep seems to have more balls than our leaders McConnell and Boehner.
Which says alot about the GOP of today, considering Shep is an uphill gardener

I need to know more about this term ‘rawrblam’. I’m absolutely intriqued by it.

Either that, or his Mom sent them to him from Miss’sippi.
He may be covering his **cough** self since Glenn Beck will be on in january and they are getting rid of E.D. Hill..
kingsjester on November 18, 2008 at 5:58 PM
Shep ain’t a conservative.
Neil Cavuto is one of the last remaining voices of reason over there.

Achilles on November 18, 2008 at 5:59 PM
Shep always editorializes, either through words or intonation and expression. And he’s almost always on the wrong side of the issue.
progressoverpeace on November 18, 2008 at 5:59 PM
Carl Cameron is reporting that Shep can see something between his legs.
Firebird on November 18, 2008 at 6:00 PM
I take it this guy is guided more by his feelings and the direction the wind is blowing than by principle?
sharrukin on November 18, 2008 at 6:00 PM
And I’m not calling you a nutjob, txsurveryor; I’m saying Keyes is wrong to do that.
Achilles on November 18, 2008 at 6:00 PM
Ha. Listen to him talk about GWarming for ex. He is not apolitical.
Spirit of 1776 on November 18, 2008 at 6:01 PM
It’s one thing when people like Bill O’Reilly or Sean Hannity offer their opinions on the issues: they’re shows are not “news” and the bias is expected. But I absolutely hate it when “reporters/newscasters” editorialize.
Nevertheless, I have to say: That was kind of hot.
Are we sure that Shep is gay?
patriette on November 18, 2008 at 6:01 PM
Yeah I was kind of troubled by that too. I thought his show was suppose to be news and not news commentary. He did get into commentary here. If he’s going to give his opinion about something (which I prefer he not do) than they should probably label the segment as editorial, as they do with Neil Cavuto. Cavuto has his segment “My Word.” And everyone knows that O’Reilly and Hannity & Colmes are opinion guys. They shouldn’t start blurring the lines.

No. Like all good liberals he doesn’t want his money spent for the bailouts, just Conservatives money.
Helloyawl on November 18, 2008 at 6:03 PM
Well, Shep was right on there. When he’s right, he’s right!
JellyToast on November 18, 2008 at 6:03 PM
My working theory on Shep is that he’s dating a really liberal gal, and she has him whipped.
So how can I explain today?
I don’t know. But I’m sticking with my theory.
Matticus Finch on November 18, 2008 at 6:03 PM
“It’s one thing when people like Bill O’Reilly or Sean Hannity offer their opinions on the issues: they’re shows are not “news” and the bias is expected.”
Argh. I’ll grammar-police myself. “their.” not “they’re.” “their.”
It’s been a long day.

Call me crazy but I’ve always liked watching him. Sometimes he’s annoying as all get out but mostly he’s enjoyable in a funny sort of way.
scalleywag on November 18, 2008 at 6:05 PM
Colmes is too stupid to have an opinion. He just makes utterances. At least he doesn’t drool anymore.
progressoverpeace on November 18, 2008 at 6:05 PM
I can’t wait to see Glenn Beck. He is fantastic. I am sorry that they are getting rid of E.D. Hill, though.
HornetSting on November 18, 2008 at 6:05 PM
Blurring the lines is exactly how we described it, and it happens more and more in many/most Media. In a newpaper, I want a NEWS section separate from an OPINION page, not a news section where I don’t trust that they are presenting all of the facts of the story, but rather, emphasizing some and omitting others to match their agenda.
And on TV I want the same……you are correct about H & C and O’R; they do not make any pretense that that are opinion guys.
Red State State of Mind on November 18, 2008 at 6:07 PM
Say it ain’t so Shep!

Glenn Beck might, maybe, get me to watch Fox for that one hour, only.
I haven’t watched any network TV/cable news since November 5th – except the snippits here.
Must say that my whole world view is better for it.
tru2tx on November 18, 2008 at 6:09 PM
it appears many here on HA have a different “theory”
Personally, I don’t care who he dates, but I want at least one TV channel where I can get both sides of an issue in the News. It’s evident to me that many/most of Fox’s best commentators lean right, but at least there are balanced attempts to allow both sides to present their cases.
Red State State of Mind on November 18, 2008 at 6:11 PM
Same here, can’t bring myself to check out any TV, seems when I do some add comes on asking me to buy a set of hussein plates or coins!!
christene on November 18, 2008 at 6:12 PM
Shep’s a moderate populist like O’Reilly. I’d rather listen to that than a full-blown liberal. At least you will agree with a populist more often than not.
Pcoop on November 18, 2008 at 6:13 PM
Shep is not a conservative. He’s a whiny liberal who finds it necessary to give his left wing opinions every single day on what is supposed to be a fair and balanced newscast.

At least it’s an improvement over the Spanish-language ads that some prick used to run on Fox for months before the election. I never understood why anyone thought that someone watching Fox would need or want a Spanish-language commercial and figured they were wasting money just to tick people off.
The Hussein plates/coins are pretty cheezy, but that fits pretty well with Hussein and his merry band of misfits, morons, and terrorists.

However, he needs to watch out or he’ll turn into an O’Reilly, and that’s not a good thing.
