Libertarian candidate who prevented Chambliss from winning a majority

You can make the same statement that Martin prevented Chambliss from winning a majority, but lets sure not lay the blame where it belongs:

“Chambliss prevented Chambliss from winning a majority”

Fred Thompson called me yesterday (robocall) to get the vote out for Chambliss… yawn… why am I suddenly so tired…

Wrong. He doesn’t like the Fair Tax. He has deliberately and outrageously misrepresented it in his campaign ads. Whether you support the Fair Tax or not, that shouldn’t be acceptable. What else will he mislead you about?

As far as polls, I haven’t seen any. It will all depend on turnout anyway. McCain showed up to campaign for Chambliss, but I’m not sure how much weight that carried. There was a report that Sarah Palin might stop on her way to or from the Republican Governors’ conference in Miami, but I never heard any more. The One may or may not make an appearance for Martin, probably based on whether or not his team thinks Martin has a chance. Watch for that.

Runoffs in Georgia are hard to predict. As often as not, the candidate who came in second in the General wins the runoff. I am optimistic because the Libertarian candidate who prevented Chambliss from winning a majority, ran on a strong platform of spending cuts. I myself voted for him, but will vote for Chambliss in the runoff, even though he can be a bit RINO-ish on fiscal and energy issues.

If the people of Georgia votes for Martin and then gets their taxes hiked, they are to be blamed and they deserve what they vote for. I could say the same thing to those who voted for Obama, yet those who did not vote for him will have to suffer the consequences like the rest. What a shame.

I come from a property-tax state, myself, and it seems like many of our state legislators’ fortunes hinge on their records of voting on tax issues.
