Except for the fact that we ran a corrupt, pork-bloated crook for a seat in the Senate, have accomplished precisely diddly squat as a party since 1998 (aside from porking it up and saddling the country with McCain/Feingold, prescription drug boondoggle, etc.), and generally don’t deserve to wash the Democrat party’s dishes.

The GOP deserves what it got. Unfortunately, we’re the ones that will pay for it.

The party is rotted out from the inside and will function as a punching bag for the next 2 years (20 if we don’t get our act together and completely reform the party… again).

Begich was overheard during his last trip to DC telling some other loser Dem, “Eh, ANWR is a breeze. Just tell the businessmen you want to drill, tell the treehuggers you’ll never drill, and meanwhile do nothing.”

So, he’ll fit in perfectly with the rest of his caucus. Effing loser.

not anymore,now that the convicted felon scumbag Ted Stevens has been given his well deserved walking papers by the people of Alaska, we have finally rid ourselves of 2 people that have no business in the Senate.

This is good news – if Stevens was the face of GOP corruption and used by McCain to beat Conservatives, it’s a good thing he lost – that last thing we need is for the McCains to have further ammo. I also agree with those above who’d rather have the Dems have a full 60 so that they can’t complain, but in reality, there are enough GOP traitors like Specter, Snowe, Hagel, Gramm and McCain himself that they can rely on to avoid the odiously named ‘nuclear option’ on judges. For this reason, I’d hate Coleman and Chambliss to lose – I’d much rather have seen more Liberal Republicans go down in flames.

In fact, Obama could deplete GOP ranks in the Senate further by offering positions to them, particularly in states that Dems can re-capture. Give the Dems complete control of Congress, and lets re-visit this issue 2 years from now.

Stevens should have said “Vote not for me but for Republicans. I will resign after the election or inaugeration.” That would have been courage of convictions. But instead of having convictions, he suffered them.

Filibuster is never gonna happen anyways. nuclear option. Some republicans will always flip.

However, I’d argue that 59 seats is the worst possible outcome. Imagine 2 or 4 years of “we couldn’t pass this because republicans were filibustering – and thwarting our majority”

I’ve thinking about cleaning my kitchen, but haven’t been motivated. Suddenly, I feel inspired. Here’s my plan. I going to throw dirt and food debris all over the floor and then I’m defecate on top of that and then I’m going to broom and stir all the junk around not just the floor, but try to get it over everything. Then I’m going to pour two gallons of cooking oil over everything. When I get done the kitchen will be such a mess, I’ll have to clean it up.
