And for those who think it’s OK for “Civil Unions” or any other form of Gay Marriage to be inflicted on innocent bystanders (children), I suggest you read some Alice Miller.

I understand Jetboy, that you think people should not go in and hold crosses or sing hymns…because its like yelling sinner! something that causes anger. But you are wrong to assume they went there to incite rage. Seriously, for those who don’t believe in Christ, what does it matter being called sinner? How do you know the people didn’t hold the cross or sing the hymn out of love and concern? Or how do you know they were sending the message to the gays, and not to fellow Christians? ( like hang tough Christians, we did the right thing ) They weren’t being rude to the gays…they weren’t even close to the rudeness they received.
The fact you can’t see the similarity between the old lady and the cross provoking grown men to behave like 2 year olds…and the lady who wears sexy clothing not asking to be raped, is beyond me.

Probably not much. My guess is that gay people and the quality of their commitments are more likely to be affected by older gay role models than by the word marriage. If gay unions are stable and the couples are successful and happy then it will have more of an impact than the word that appears on the state certificate.

I think marriage will be good for gay culture and to the extent that gay couples currently succeed in committing to each other exclusively for life and care for children then I think the recognition of that relationship by the people of the state should follow. Maybe it takes another decade before that happens.

Likely that is the motivation for some. For gay people who want the novelty of having a ceremony and getting a state-issued marriage certificate, the divorce rate would likely be high.

I also think gay couples will have different challenges than straight couples, and that lesbian marriage will be different than male gay marriage.

I think marriage will be good for gay culture and to the extent that gay couples currently succeed in committing to each other exclusively for life and care for children then I think the recognition of that relationship by the people of the state should follow. Maybe it takes another decade before that happens.

Any couple who relies on the prestige factor of state paperwork to help their marriage is in trouble.

But wouldn’t this advise also be useful to the anti-Prop 8 crowd?

And seeing as they are the ones that want to change the definition of marriage, isn’t the onus on THEM to provide a legitimate reason for doing so?

And considering that civil unions give them the same exact state rights in CA that marriages have…

Cannot agree with you. There should be a way to let gays marry. Without butting in a Law that has been a Law for years. They get rights the same as we do married. But we had to have Jerry Brown a true idiot write the proposal up.

Sure it will, it will diminish the meaning of marriage. Just like playing the race card constantly diminishes racism. I hear racism now and I roll my eyes, when in fact it could occur.

Any couple who relies on the prestige factor of state paperwork to help their marriage is in trouble. Devotion, patience and sacrifice make or break a marriage–and it’s a daily test. Gays getting hitched won’t diminish a marriage any more than celebrity divorces do.

Maybe a contest: see who can grow the biggest cucumber in their garden, something like that would surely put the happy back in gay again.

Gay marriage won’t reduce any rights for whites. The legalizing of mixed-race marriages didn’t diminish white marriages. It gave people the option of marrying across color barriers, but didn’t require anyone to do so. Preventing gay marriage doesn’t strengthen straight marriages. The number of people who stay in a straight marriage because they don’t have the right to gay marry someone else would seem to be small.

Because Compton is mostly Hispanic now.

The next morning, Sodom was destroyed by God. The “Gay” community has been making us all feel more like Lot for years. But they themselves have a lower life expectancy, are plagued by AIDS (in spite of their efforts to make it seem that heterosexuals are as much a part of the problem).

If you were on a road where a tall bridge was out and you stopped just in time, would you not flag down every car going toward that bridge and tell them to stop and turn back!? That is what Christians are doing in that community. It is out of love not hate. Christ died for the homosexual, but many (like the U.S. as a whole) will not receive his love because that would require surrendering to Him. But I love what the apostle Paul writes, In I Corinthians 6:9-11:  

Do ye not know that unrighteous persons shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who make women of themselves, nor who abuse themselves with men [lit. sodomites], nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of You [Paul is writing to a church!] but you have been washed, but you have been sanctified, but you have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

We are all sinners, yet Christ will save the vilest among us if we but turn to Him on His terms. It is an act of love to tell people.

It doesn’t take videos like this and others where homosexuals are harassing elderly ladies to know what cowards these people truly are. Just the fact that they are infiltrating our public schools with the sole intention of drilling their perverse ideas into young children’s minds demonstrates cowardice in it’s lowest form.

I guess they feel that a vote for Obama automatically meant a vote for their attempt to redefine marriage.
And they must feel that since the media(and Acorn, and all the mystery donors with non-traceable money cards, etc) handed the election over to Obama on a silver platter, with extreme prejudice, that the Conservative voters must have done something themselves to steal this vote away from them.

Well, they were wrong, on both counts.

But since they feel they can’t be wrong, like an immature child intent on getting his way, they will throw their temper tantrum against their “oppressors”(in any other world that would be their parents), and then go to a higher source(a spoiling grandparent perhaps) to help them(in their world, an activist judge).

Unfortunately these are not simple children with innocent, childlike sensibilities who can learn their lesson with an introspective session in the timeout chair. These people do not savor introspection, as that forces them to think about their lives and examine how they are living and what they are doing.
Ignorance is bliss. Anything deeper would cause the hate they express outwardly toward their perceived “oppressors”, to be directed instead to the actual source of their hatred and disgust – themselves.
