Video: Time for another “enraged anti-Prop 8 mob” video

The violence wasn’t captured on camera this time; read the boss for a description of that. The media’s unwilling to place blame where it belongs in these incidents since the identities of the harassers and harassed confound the established Narrative, so they resort instead to feeble, evenhanded tsk-tsking about how “both sides” need to “cool down.” Look out for that as the coverage of this breaks big.

There’s only one man now who can rescue Prop 8 opponents from the terrible trappings of democracy — and luckily, not only has he had a lot of practice at it, this particular issue is one of his specialties. Expect a major 5-4 equal protection decision striking down the referendum sometime next year, with you-know-who writing for the majority. A surefire consolation prize for conservatives? Angriest Scalia dissent evah.

“Shame on those stupid Christians who have no manners and no sense of balance. ”

Yeah…those dumb hicks…how dare they take “Freedom of Speech” seriously. Let’s see, they weren’t screaming abuse at elderly Mormon women, or threatening to destroy the livings of those who voted against them, or ripping a Cross from the hands of an old woman, or using the ‘N’ word against Afro-Americans, or refusing to accept majority rules in a democracy BUT hey ! they must be the ones with no “sense of balance”.

Son of Albion on November 17, 2008 at 8:43 PM

Or are you simply stating that these people go rabidly wild at any sign or symbol of Christianity?

Are you implying that holding a cross in front of gay people is like waving a red flag in front of a bull?

Religious_Zealot on November 17, 2008 at 8:05 PM

He won’t answer; I will: to enemies of Christ, holding a cross is incitement to violence. Now I’d be willing to assume that not all homosexuals hate Christ. But those who think like Jetboy certainly do and I’d have more respect for them if they’d just admit it. Like that other enemy of Christ, those who would use the term ‘breeder’ hate the breed–human beings.

baldilocks on November 17, 2008 at 8:43 PM

Look, everybody…

I do not, in any way, condone violent mobs. I’ve been there…marching in support of the war amongst rabid anti-war moonbats. I’ve been spit on, punched, tripped, etc.

But you have to realize, the violent mobs (and from what I’ve seen in these videos, it’s mostly yelling) are ASKING for a riot…inciting a riot by purposely going to places where they will cause the most “ruckus”. It’s their whole point. And, again, they succeeded brilliantly.

And as a gay dude (and believe me, these mobs don’t represent me) I’ve seen plenty of daily attacks on gays. I’ve had friends beaten and left bloody on the street, just for being gay. I’ve had firecrackers thrown at me “to scare the “gay” out…

This is a DAILY atrocity gays must face…even today. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

OK, I’ve said my peace, I’m out.

God Bless.

JetBoy on November 17, 2008 at 6:45 PM

Hey JetBoy,

Stay out. I’m from SF Bay Area. That crap against gays doesn’t happen out there. These protests are by maggots. They are pouty, spoiled punks who want us to accept and reward them for sinful behavior. They also want to get our our sons and daughters to teach them ‘the life’. To Hell with them. We need to stand up against these people, not back down.

Sapwolf on November 17, 2008 at 8:44 PM

Stay out my kids school with your lame pushing of gay sex, stay out of my town with your rainbow flags, and I will stay out of your gay streets.

It’s a deal.

Hening on November 17, 2008 at 8:45 PM

There’s a myriad of legal differences between “civil unions” and “marriage”. There’s a lot more different than simply a name.

JetBoy on November 17, 2008 at 8:23 PM

California family law code 297.5 reads as follows:

297.5. (a) Registered domestic partners shall have the same rights,
protections, and benefits, and shall be subject to the same
responsibilities, obligations, and duties under law, whether they
derive from statutes, administrative regulations, court rules,
government policies, common law, or any other provisions or sources of law, as are granted to and imposed upon spouses.

Care to try again?

Bobbertsan on November 17, 2008 at 8:46 PM

If gays in CA can marry, then damnit, I want to be able to marry MULTIPLE rich widows. This is bull. If they could marry samesex, then how can we justify stopping polygamy?

Sapwolf on November 17, 2008 at 8:46 PM

JetBoy,
STILL waiting for an answer on how an elderly woman silently holding a cross is “taunting” or “inciting” people.

Religious_Zealot on November 17, 2008 at 8:38 PM

For the umpteenth, and last time…

She wasn’t just silently holding a cross…the mob didn’t come to her, she went to the mob. In the aftermath of a highly emotional vote. Why, to silently stand and praise the Lord? Nope…to use that cross as a weapon of taunt. To taunt the crowd with it.

Real Christian, huh?

Now, that’s my answer. Do with it what you please. Don’t ask again.

JetBoy on November 17, 2008 at 8:46 PM

The mere presence of a political opponent is infuriating if you’re gay and in order to avoid becoming like Soviet Russia, public expression of that opinion should be banned and the old woman should be sent to the gulags.

Darth Executor on November 17, 2008 at 8:49 PM

Divorce and remarriage logically gets you a step closer to polygamy than gay marriage does. A guy might marry 3 or 4 women during his life and keep them through the peak of their fertility. It has an effect similar to polygamy.

Great point, Sapwolf. If we have to change marriage just to suit gays why not change it to suit brothers who want to marry their sisters, or fathers and daughters. Marriage as we know it has been a tradition for two thousand years …let gays start their own tradition.

Not in terms of rights. Consenting adults is the mchief gay marriage argument. That it’s two or three or four seems completely irrelevant.

The latest fascist ploy at eroding the rights of others. It makes me think, by the way they are acting, that Proposition 8 may have been right after all. I just had the greatest idea. Why don’t me and a few of my friends do the complete opposite of what’s morally acceptable, infect mainstream society with our thinking, then force a majority of people to accept our moral bankruptcy by taking a few isolated incidents and blowing them way out of proportion. This way we can effectively silence the opposition by insisting that they’re wrong, and ultimately blaming the entire religious group (even if it isn’t the one that condones car bombs, airplane hijacking, and general hatred towards liberty and freedom).

Once we get enough people to abandon their beliefs due to their impatience, and apathy towards defending their belief structure, we can incite hatred and violence towards the entire religion, yet still be socially acceptable when all of these gullible fools buy our crap that we’re the forces of “tolerance”.

This way when even one single media outlet dares question our motives and methods of distorting the world view of a certain religious group, we can always play the victim card.

Oh wait……

that’s already been done.

Simply repeating your assertion is not the same thing as explaining WHY a cross is, all of a sudden, a weapon of mass taunting.

So, yet again, HOW exactly is silently holding a cross the same thing as TAUNTING or INCITING a group of homosexual terrorists?

Religious_Zealot on November 17, 2008 at 9:08 PM

The difference is that some “little old gay” who holds up a pink triangle in ANY church knows good and well that (s)he isn’t going to get shouted down.

You continue to blame the victims and stick up for the violent perpetrators.

That’s not exactly the fruit of a real Christian.

Religious_Zealot on November 17, 2008 at 9:11 PM

“OK, so by your thought, if some little old gay goes to, oh say Westboro Baptist,’”

Nice try, the little old lady was in a public place…standing on a sidewalk…Gays have burst into numerous churches in the US and Europe…they have screamed profanities in front of children and other worshippers and they have NEVER been attacked. Interestingly though I have never heard of any gays trying anything similar in mosques…I wonder why ?

Random thoughts……… since the election of Obama, one of the best businesses to be in is the sale of guns and ammunition. Second amendment advocates are buying up weapons and ammunition. And, if I remember correctly it is a federal hate-crime offense to single someone out for their religion.

The double-standard here is pretty interesting. It seems to me that gay people are going to churches, businesses, and even people’s homes to protest the vote of the majority of Californians, but a little old lady carrying a cross was going “to the mob”, basically asking to be assaulted.

I don’t care what she said to those people, if anything – they had no right to lay a finger on her. How anyone, on either side of this debate, could defend the way she was treated (by the way, exactly where did that event take place?) is simply beyond my ability to comprehend.

One last thought: It’s striking that the act of praying or singing praise songs is met with such a violent and visceral reaction from some members of the gay community. I can only imagine why.

I don’t known. Nothing in that nonsensical story indicates the state of your spirit. (Aside: Why would an Evangelical crowd tear a crucifix from anyone’s hands?)

baldilocks on November 17, 2008 at 9:48 PM

Jetboy, from your comments above, I take it you’re Catholic. So am I, and for me that means we have a connection more important than any issue being discussed here tonight. I don’t agree with you on Prop 8 and I’m extremely disturbed by recent events. What I understand from your comments, though, is that it would be better for Christians to avoid doing things that appear to rub salt into wounds right now. I believe the reaction of the gay community was wrong, but I agree that some of this could probably be avoided with a little more sensitivity on the part of Christian activists.

Everybody in this thread needs to just chill out. It’s like a “I’m more Christian/Conservative/American/Moral/Whatever than you!!!!1!1!” marathon. Why can’t we just respect each others beliefs? The stuff I’ve seen some of you guys fling at each other is disgusting. All of you need to chill out. I understand its a very complex issue, but, in reality, we have much bigger fish to fry than this issue (no matter what side you’re on). I wish people had this much passion about fiscal and foreign policy. Wouldn’t it be easier if the government didn’t get involved in this issue period (i.e. no government recognition of marriage for anyone) and let everyone else go back to calling what they think constitutes a marriage and what they think doesn’t whatever the hell they want to call it. And shame on all of you on both sides for being so hateful about expressing your views. When people start dropping the terms “enemies of Christ”, “real Christian”, and “limp-wrist sissy Mary”, and people are compared to none other than Fred Phelps (almost as bad as being compared to Hitler) multiple times, then I know we’re in trouble. Calm down…all of you. Now.

Got it.

“Your side won, so shut up about it. If you make your opinion known, and it’s on the wrong side, you deserve to be bullied and threatened. A cross is just a cross…unless you dare bring it around some gay people who are sore about losing a vote in a democratic society. Christians against gay marriage are comparable to the Aryan Brotherhood and the Westboro Baptist Church. Old ladies with cardboard crosses and people walking through a gay neighborhood while praying are TAUNTING, INCITING RIOTS, AND ASKING FOR TROUBLE. You deserve everything you get, because bad stuff supposedly happens to gays, so turnabout is fair play. You shall suffer for the sins of your ignorant peers.”

We got ya a long time ago, pal.

Yeah, God forbid that Christians be allowed to voice their opinions. If Gays are really exposed to the kind of a
“atrocities” that jetboy claims they suffer then why would a liitle hymn-singing and a little plastic cross so enrage them?
The real reason is their hatred of anything that reminds them of what they really are…..intolerant bigots. If they can’t put up with the sight of Christians then they should pack their bags and go to Saudi Arabia where crosses are banned.

She went there to purposely use that cross to taunt the crowd with. And THAT is very un-Christian in my book. Your book may vary.

Again I ask – how is silently holding a cross “taunting”?

How did she “taunt” simply by holding a cross?

You must think, then, that the cross itself taunts the homosexuals.

Interesting perspective.

Religious_Zealot on November 17, 2008 at 10:04 PM

The only reason it makes the news is because it’s comedy gold to watch effeminate men in tight pants and tank tops having a group hissy fit.

Alden Pyle on November 17, 2008 at 9:05 PM

You should be careful about these stereotypes. I had the bad sense to have a bad boy ex-boyfriend. He’s in jail now. Something about driving while intoxicated, without a license, and in a stolen car. I can’t visit him now, because it’s bad in jail to be known to be gay. Still, he had large muscles and is rather macho. But the really strange thing about him is that he is a nice, decent guy, but he started taking drugs. I was used to be libertarian about all drugs. Now, I just favor marijuana legalization.

thuja on November 17, 2008 at 10:07 PM

Wrong. To stand back and watch the kind of intolerance currently being directed against Christians by radical gays and say nothing would be wrong. This is something to get emotional and passionate about. The radical gay leftist agenda is about destroying the Judeo-Christian culture that forms the backbone of our society.

thuja on November 17, 2008 at 10:08 PM

I agree that perhaps these guys could have decided not to express their faith in this particular area just a short while after Prop 8 had passed. However, that doesn’t mean that they should have been subject to the crap that happened to them. These gay “activists” acted reprehensibly, and several of them should have been arrested.

Get over yourself. So, gays are little upset now. After centuries of oppression, followed by a few decades of repression, gays have a right to pissed about what people acting under the influence of Christianity have done. By the way, one of the reasons Judaism is the true religion is because the Jews have embraced the rights of gay people long before the Christians have.

Dee2008 on November 17, 2008 at 9:48 PM

Sensitive?

This sound an awful like that BS after 9/11 that we should have been more ’sensitive’ to the terrorists feelings/demands.

These anti-Prop 8 people are nothing more than juvenile terrorists.

They do not deserve our “sensitivity”, and any perceived lack thereof is never, EVER a reason to be supportive of violence.

It’s kinda funny in a very, very sad way.

Christians are showing themselves and not doing anything else except holding crosses and singing hymns and they are getting assaulted.

Yet when the juvenile terrorists burn holy books and disrupt services they get left alone.

Yet the Christians get blamed for getting beat up and get no credit for practicing peaceful restraint.

Yeah, right.

Religious_Zealot on November 17, 2008 at 10:04 PM

To even suggest that it is taunting, is to defer the right of speech to only one side.

The venue was city hall and the news cameras were rolling. These are the times to make statements publicly.

Noone owes anyone else any special “sensitivity”. They only owe the most basic of civic respect. Some that come to mind are; no spitting on anyone, no violence, no ripping property out of peoples hands…you know, stuff like that.

The elderly woman passed that test.

On Judaism…

…like Christianity, there are several different forms and types of Judaism.

Most sects of Judaism believe that homosexuality is a sin.

However, there are more liberal sects that don’t hold this view.

And what EITHER view has to do with a religion being “true” or not is beyond me!

“Jewish church” is an interesting expression. Historically, Jews haven’t worried about gays as much as Christians. All the non-orthodox versions of Judaism are quite pro-gay. I’m thinking of becoming a member of Conservative congregation, which is Orthodox flavored (Conservadox) and it’s quite gay-positive.
