If all she has to do is carry water for Obama and be a tough negotiator, she can probably do that. But if she would be required to advise Obama and help formulate policy, I just don’t see it.

Obama said Hillary had zero FP experience, because she was just doing social tea parties abroad. And now he’s short listed her for Secretary of State.

But as Hillary supporter you don’t think she can do more as Sec. of State than in the Senate?

She’ll be a “fall guy” for the FP cluster-f’s of the Obama administration. She will try to do some good as Sec. of State, but she will be nerfed. She is essentially an advisor to President Obama in that role.

No way. The Senate is a much, much better role for Hillary. And not just for Hillary, but for the Democratic base that the DNC left behind, and even for you indies and Republicans out there, much as you may be loathe to admit.

I dunno why all of you Conservatives are still harping on Hillary. I was a Hillary supporter in the primaries (I was shocked I donated so much to her I can find myself on the HuffPo donor tracker!) and then donated to Palin-McCain and voted for their ticket.

Hillary would make a fine Sec. of State, but that is a death knell for her political career. Instead I urge you to use this moment to lambast Obama on his hypocricy.

In the Primaries, he said her FP experience was little more than First Lady tea parties and formal pleasantries. And now she’s suddenly on his short list? Attack Obama’s “superior judgement” — not Hillary’s credentials.

Trust. We — America — WANT Hillary in the Senate. She’s a Dem, but she is not an Obama-worshipping one. You don’t want her sitting under Obama’s thumb “at his pleasure” while the Obama-DNC can fill her NY vacancy with a partisan hack.
