Two predictions, the first (amazingly) from former Ron Paul advisor Peter Schiff circa 2006-07, the second from Trends Research CEO Gerald Celente circa last week.
I plan on using my platform at HA in the coming months to organize the Order of the Hand, with me in the Will Ferrell role. Those who fear an apocalyptic Celente-esque recession are welcome to join me in the mountains. We shall subsist on corned beef and Jack, and worship as our goddess Rebecca Gomez.

I thought about Australia too until I saw this recently:
Australia to implement mandatory internet censorship
First time in my life I’ve started to believe this One World Order stuff…..the socialist/marxists are everywhere.
Let’s roll.

I’ve read that ships that were, as you suggested, charging $400,000 to cross the Pacific from Asia six months ago are now unable to charge more than $6,000. The velocity of events is stunning.

I’ve never rolled my own, but I’ve been considering it. After the initial equipment investment, can you count on much savings?

Can you post your sources on this? I believe you, I just want to read more about it.

Thanks for the info. I have a stripped lower, but may get another. I seem to remember with the last ban that there was a rule about this. I think that if the lower was actually assembled into a rifle prior to the effective date of the ban, it was grandfathered. But if not, all you could do was build a “post-ban” configuration. So I guess I need to save some money for the kit, too.
Definitely good advice on the upper receiver. I don’t have the tools or gauges to mount the barrel. Not something to improvise!

Some of what I know comes from my wife. She is Controller for a Fortune 500 manufacturer with a number of manufacturing facilities in China, Vietnam, Europe, and North America. I know I’ve also read articles that give numbers for perspective. I’ll see if I can find some links.
flyfisher on November 15, 2008 at 12:59 PM
You can save a good bit. The brass can be reloaded many times (I’ve got brass with 90’s headstamps – light loads = long life). I bought once-fired brass to start with, or saved the brass from factory ammo.
If I shop around for the other components for 9mm (plated bullets, primers, powder) the cost is around $120/1000. I don’t know what factory ammo costs now days since I haven’t bought any lately. But I think you could save 50% pretty easily.
Plus you can tailor the loads to your gun for best accuracy. And it really can be a fun hobby.

I can’t find the most recent article I read, but here a few others, mostly from October. The numbers have dropped even more since then. Some of these aren’t exactly on point, but they give you an indication of what’s going on.

For those who thought Ron Paul was nuts, here is his economic adviser Peter Schiff as far back as two years ago predicting EXACTLY the way the economy would go. I watch these talking head shows on Fox News and Fox Business Channel and generally think that these people are smart. They’re not, at least not about this. Look at them flail. One person picks Merrill Lynch as his stock of the week saying it’s undervalued and is due for a run-up. The screen shows MER in the upper 70’s with a yearly high in the 90’s; Friday it closed at $13.20.
Yeah, Ron Paul would have been a bad choice for President. You people on here called me a Paulnut, and a Ronulan, but the guy knew something thanks to the people he surrounded himself with. And who has Obama surrounded himself with? The usual cast of characters from inside the Beltway. McCain would have done no better than Obama is.
RWLA on November 15, 2008 at 1:24 PM
Schiff also said his main worry wasn’t that people would go to the bank and not get money. But that they would go get their money but find there was nothing to buy. If goods cannot be shipped from their country of origin, there are not goods to buy.
If oil cannot be shipped – no oil.
China has no oil of it’s own to speak of.
China sure has a military, though. Think they’ll invade their neighbors to keep the oil flowing? How would ‘O’ react to that?

Here are some really crazy stories from people in Argentina when their economy completely collapsed a few years ago.
People running wild on the streets killing each other…gangs invading farms and houses and killing and raping everyone throughout the night…rich people hiring mercenary armies to patrol and defend their house..

It went from a 1st world country, to a third world war zone hellhole overnight.
This stuff really did happen after Argentina’s economic collapse a few years ago.

I was no McCain fan, but I voted to stop Obambi.
Without McCain though we wouldn’t have been introduced to Palin.
Paul’s problem is he comes off sounding like a nut….and with that squeaky whining voice and no-chin persona, he is just not a leader. He might make a good cabinet guy.

problem with Paul isn’t his Economics(though the scorched earth, make no compromises is politically idiotic). Its his anti-American and Marxist views of America, Islam, etc. The Rothbard crowd are in bed with the extreme left.
he would be better off to just stick to talking about economics

First thing I’d do is recommend stop listening to Hank Hanegraaff. The Book of Revelation was NOT fulfilled in the first century. His preterist view clouds the natural meaning of the Holy Scriptures. There is still so much more that is coming!

Hank who?
Certainly there is much more coming. But for how long?
I lean toward a partial Preterist view, but I’m more of the Pan-Millinialist persuasion. I believe it will all pan out.
BTW: I quit listening to “Heretic Hank” before you started listening to him. I’ve always wanted to call him up and accuse him of Docetism because he believes that Jesus could not have sinned.

Incredible. Either Peter Schiff had inside information or he’s one competent analyst. I am so impressed at how he held up to the scoffing and ridicule from those other financial panelists. Somebody really needs to get them back to rewind the tape – see how much they’re laughing now. It reminds me of all the Bible-believing Christians here warning people that the Rapture is just around the corner. A literal hell on this earth for a period of 7 years is just on the horizen. The scoffing and ridicule we get is not unlike Peter Schiff’s experience. If something gives you pause; makes you think more carefully about something – let it be this.

I think if you will study your pre-millenialism a bit closer, you will see that the Great Tribulation is the latter half of the seventh week of Daniel. The first 31/2 years is a time of peace brought about by the actions of the Antichrist. So if you’re a pre-tribber or a mid-tribber you don’t have to sweat it.
To whom are you referring?
davidk on November 15, 2008 at 3:44 PM
Look up the Austrian Theory of the Business Cycle.
lodge on November 15, 2008 at 3:53 PM
If people only knew.
Just make sure you’re saved David, repentant, and truly living for the Lord my friend. The Rapture is when Jesus will remove all Christians from the Earth, to protect them. At this time all the people that have accepted Jesus as their Savior will be taken to heaven (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17). They will not have to go through the fiery trial that lies ahead. The Tribulation will last for 7 years. Jesus said in Matthew 24:21 “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”

I am 48 years old. I have never had a credit card…I did without until the advent of debit cards…which function like credit cards but there is no monthly bill…
Aside from well capitalized real property purchases with modest leverage, the only other credit I have ever dipped into is a 30 day AP window from suppliers to my various business’…and the only reason to do that is to consolidate paperwork and payment to the end of the month…
If you can’t pay for it today, don’t buy it…the only reason to use credit is for extremely short term bridges or/when your capital is better leveraged elsewhere for very very short term…
The only person I borrow from is myself…and I am always approved for the loan….
Its going to be enjoyable to see this thing unwind…
We live in interesting times…

That’s right: Jesus didn’t sin or his sacrifice as the Son of God would have been meaningless.
As for Hal Lindsey (as well as the Left Behind men), they believe what they believe.
The Bible says “Be ye also ready.”
These men of God believe it is their Christian duty to get their brethren in Christ ready.
Rather than “mess people up,” it’s supposed to help them get right with God.
All the talk on this thread is about being prepared physically and financially, why not spiritually?
And bad times make a lot more sense and are easier to bear if you believe that the Lord is in control at all times, not man and that He will have the victory.
Jenfidel on November 15, 2008 at 5:27 PM
Not entirely true. You can buy an 80% finished lower and finish it yourself. You are now the manufacturer of said rifle. You do not have to serial number it, stamp a maker’s mark, or anything else…as long as it is for personal use. If you sell it, you must register with ATF as a manufacturer. As long as you don’t sell it you’re good to go.
This is quite a bit more complicated than just putting parts in an AR lower. The JPFO (Jews for Preservation of Firearms Ownership) used to sell 80% receivers, but the ATF found a way to shut them down. They were aggressively marketing them and touting their “no serial number” advantage. ATF doesn’t like it when people find ways to get around the regulations. For the same reason, ATF banned importation of AK kits a few months ago(at least those with foreign made barrels). Too many people were buying the parts kits and using sheet metal to stamp out receivers. Stamped receivers (a la AK) are much easier to manufacture than the forged lower of an AR.
Barntender on November 15, 2008 at 5:31 PM
Just call the ATF. You’re a hobbyist and gun enthusiast. You just want to make sure it’s legal. No crime there. Just call from a pay phone…out of town. Or, from your neighbors house…while he’s out of town. ;)
Barntender on November 15, 2008 at 5:42 PM
Thinking about Australia?
The leftist Australian government has adopted gun control laws banning certain guns (60 percent of all firearms), requiring registration of all firearms and licensing of all gun owners. In Australia today, police can enter your house and search for guns, copy the hard drive of your computer, seize records, and do it all without a search warrant. It’s the law that police can go door to door searching for weapons that have not been surrendered in their much publicized gun buy back program. There are three major political parties in Australia: the center right (Liberal Party), the socialist camp (Labor Party), and the ultra left (Australian Democratic Party) — which tilted the balance of power toward stringent gun control at the expense of freedom.
As a result of the ban, all semiautomatic firearms (rifles and handguns) are proscribed, including .22 caliber rabbit guns and duck-hunting Remington shotguns. Yes, they struck down pump shotguns and semi-auto hunting rifles. All were outlawed.
Self and family protection is not considered a valid reason to own a firearm. The right to self-defense is not recognized in Australia.
…….unfreaking believable!
try again later on November 15, 2008 at 6:01 PM
Thank you for posting that!! Excellent article.
Barntender, I realize you’re just trying to help. But I believe you are muddy-ing the waters a little too much regarding the AR lowers, etc.
What you are referring to is if someone wants to make their own lower, then you have to do ATF forms, etc. The 80% rule applies to AKs because of an import law. I would recommend that people just keep things simple and buy a legit AR lower from a manufacturer (if the want to save money and build out their AR on their own).
All, if you buy an AR lower from a manufacturer through an FFL dealer, you’re good to go if you want to build it out. No need to do anything else regarding the ATF, etc. (as long as the barrel is over 16″)
The AR lower itself is considered the actual firearm by the ATF.
So to clarify, the following is all you need to do;
- obtain AR lower from a FFL ~$150-$200
- lower parts kit ~$75 (trigger assembly, pins, mag release, basically all the parts to be put into the lower)
- upper receiver assembly ~$600-1200 (the bolt carrier group, barrel, handguards, basically the rest of the rifle)
All the how-tos you need are at ar15.com.

David, the purpose of the 7 year tribulation period is twofold – to bring about the conversion of the nation Israel to prepare them for her Messiah, and to pour out God’s judgment on the unbelieving nations of the world. Some believe that the first 3½ years of the tribulation period will be peaceful. Pretty much like it is now, and it’s the second 3½ years that the real suffering begins. I don’t share that view David, and I don’t think Scripture teaches that either. I’ll give you a few quick examples to show you what I mean.
The two witnesses come onto the scene in the first 3½ years (Revelation 11:3-6). Their message will be one of repentance, judgment and preparation for the Lord Jesus Christ. “They shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days [3½ years]” (Revelation 11:3-6). As they proclaim God’s Word, many will believe on Christ for salvation, but it will most certainly mean martyrdom for them. Those who refuse to believe will soon come to blame the two witnesses for all their problems, probably as encouraged by television commentators and other news media, and they will kill Christians because of it. There will be alot of Christian persecution during the first half of the tribulation.
The Second Seal is opened in first 3½ years:
“And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, come and see. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to TAKE PEACE FROM THE EARTH, and that they should KILL ONE ANOTHER: and there was given unto him a great sword.” Revelation 6:3-4
This illustrates that peace will be removed from the earth and open conflict will break out everywhere. War, crime, and anarchy, will fill the earth as never seen before in history.
The Third Seal is opened in the first 3½ years:
“And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, a measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” Revelation 6:5-6
A penny represents a days wage for a laborer. This indicates that a great famine worldwide will occur on the earth. As the famine progresses, the cost of necessary commodities will rise excessively.
So, even though the man of sin, better known as the Antichrist, will come on the scene at the very beginning of the tribulation period as a man of peace. Although he will come in peace, his plans will see resistance and worldwide war will break out. The first 3½ years of the tribulation are not as bad as the latter 3½ years, but a lot of people are still going to die. It is going to be a terrible time. I hope that this helps. Watch this short video for more. Rapture & 1st Half Of Tribulation.
apacalyps on November 15, 2008 at 6:27 PM
It is my understanding that you don’t have to do any ATF paperwork unless you sell the gun. Then: “Papers, please!”
I agree, though. Unless you are wanting to do it for hobby reasons, it’s muuuch easier to just buy a stripped lower from an FFL.
Barntender on November 15, 2008 at 6:32 PM
And just so I am not misunderstood here. The first half of the tribulation is just getting the party warmed up! The entire seven-year period will be a time of immense suffering on earth, but the final 3½ years will be even worse!! This is all explained in detail in the Book of Revelation, especially chapters 11-19. That’s why Jesus used the phrase “Great Tribulation” with reference to the last half of the Tribulation. Thank you.

McCain would have been 100% better than Obama. Obama is a socialist. Now he wants to still raise taxes even though we are in the midst of a worldwide recession. Herbert Hoover raised taxes during a recession and we got the Great Depression. Obama is at the center if the subprime mess. When McCain and the Reps were trying to blow the whistle Obama along with the black caucus and Dems hid the problem and stonewalled any reforms. America we just let the fox in the hen house! His chief of staff was on the board of Fannie Mae and is also complicit. On top of all this we also have the no energy president right when we need energy. I hope all the enviro-wackos are happy when we start having black outs. Obama will just say we don’t need to run our AC at 72 and eat as much.
veerite on November 15, 2008 at 7:02 PM
Check with your bank on that debit card. You may not have any protection if there is an error or fraud. I had a $76 charge on my statement that was not mine (it turned out to be an error on the part of a department store). I complained to my bank who did not remove the charge for two months while they investigated (thank goodness it wasn’t a large amount).
Amex, Discover, MasterCard and Visa give you a lot more protection against fraud and error. Any disputed charges are taken off until they are proven to be yours (not always perfect, but better than I experienced).

joesamas mama on November 15, 2008 at 7:47 PM
It is a semi-automatic gun. Shoots once, each trigger press, then automatically reloads the chamber for another shot.
Yes, a woman can definitely shoot either of these. If you have small hands the Smith and Wesson may be a better fit because it comes with 3 different size grips that you can use to adjust the fit.
I strongly recommend that if you buy a pistol, that you sign up for a basic pistol safety class and then another more defense oriented class if time and money allow. Your gun shop will likely have more information.

Yes, you can carry both of these. But you may need to dress slightly different in order to conceal them properly. Without knowing more about you, I can’t recommend something exactly for you. We’ve been overdue for a recession for some time now. Two steps forward, one step back. Grow, then cull.
I really appreciated Peter Schiff’s view on our current situation. It’s going to be foul tasting, bitter and painful, but we would do better to take our medicine, let the recession happen and grow/save/produce our way out of it than to try to “fix” it with government magic dust.

How terrible that it is not a bunch of lunatics talking about survival in what used to be the greates country on Earth. We deserve to be shot just for screwin up.
Maybe I will turn myself in to the Ayers Run concentration camps….or not.

“Do you honestly believe we are heading for 19 percent unemployment and soup kitchens like in the 1930s. Are you serious???
terryannonline on November 14, 2008 at 10:10 PM”
50% drop in market valuations. 25% drop in home valuations.
Unemployment is going BIG real soon, and foreclosures are going big as well.
This already portends the last years of the disastrous Carter admin, except this time the guy playing the Gipper as-savior-role is a Socialist who who love nothing more than to replace free markets with total government control.
Be Pollyanna if you wish. It doesn’t look good from my seat. A replay of the 1930’s is unthinkable, but it doesn’t look good. Who could have envisioned the market freefall we have seen in just the last 6 weeks. Who could have envisioned the fall of so many huge financial businesses, and now the auto industry is tottering.
And who did we elect…a college sophmore and a cast of criminals who have a lot to gain by consolidating power. They think we need to EXPAND the power of Fannie Mae.
Pray that Bizarro-world doesn’t turn into the 30’s.

Barntender, cryptojunkie…
Thanks for the corrections and clarifications. This old pair of boots likes to tinker but building up and milling down an 80% receiver is way beyond my skills so a tip of the ol’ hat to the gunsmith (Barntender), and to crypto for making a bit more sense out of what I was trying to get at with DT.
Just a shooter. Love to tune. A little more gas here, a bit less torque there.
The reason I don’t worry about the serial number issue is because if it comes to tracking down every AR in the country I’ll already be an outlaw anyway. One with a whole lotta other outlaws. So why bother with the sneaky stuff? I don’t expect Batman to creep through my window and Batarang me into submission.

“Can you show me a link?” “Just how does that work?” This thread is about self sufficiency so show some.
Google your own link. Buy your own guns, food, etc, etc. Sound like a buncha woosie teeny-boppers. Or have you yet to learn that the worst thing you can do is nothing?
I made it to 70 and I’ll make more, just like the FOB, one day at a time.

Now where might he have developed such a philosophy?

Nah. aint happinen. We live in a Global economy that in no way resembles the insular America of the 30s. Even when we hit a recession trade must go on. All still have real value. Dollar down. Stocks up. Stocks up. Dollar down. We still have to get up in the morning and take care of the days business.

the trillions in money markets will its way into stocks soon. Market will rise dramatically – followed by business upturn. Always works the same.

Consider the following-
Australia never had a revolutionary war.
Australia never had a civil war.
Australia has no land borders with any other contries.
Australia is one of the most isolated countries on earth.
Australia has never been invaded by a foreign country. Indonesia could be a threat in the future but their military is geared towards quelling their internal population, not launching an invasion of a foreign land hundreds of miles away. Japan came close in WWII though.
You still can walk safely down most streets in Australia and not be threatened by violence.
There are no large animals that could threaten humans except for crocodiles in the tropics. Don’t mention the bird eating spiders though.
Personally I have moved to the outer suburbs of Sydney where violence is the lowest. But I still lock my door at night.

I hope you are both correct, but I fear you aren’t. I’m not predicting anything like the Great Depression because the government’s bag of tricks is deep. That said, I’m unconvinced they can do much to stop what’s coming. I am afraid we are caught in the vortex of history and the US government and the FED are powerless to stop what’s coming. Plus, they are wedded to a strategy which is akin to pouring gasoline on a fire (more borrowing and spending to fix problems that stem from borrowing and spending). Fighting fire with fire works for the US Forestry Service, but I doubt it will work for Czar Hank. Someday we will have to pay the piper for decades of borrowing, spending, unchecked fractional reserve lending, interest rate manipulation, and our commitment to a grandiose welfare state.
You both presume the basic system holds. Our economy isn’t like it was in the 1930’s, that’s for sure. We weren’t so dependent on foreigners back then. We manufactured most of our own products and grew almost all of our own food. Back then the government lacked the crushing debt, not to mention unspeakable entitlement commitments. Most American people weren’t in hock up to their eyeballs and they were much more self-sufficient. We were a more moral people, our cities weren’t the tinderboxes they are today. And the dollar was backed by something.
For those who believe what goes down must go up because it “always” does, I’ve got a question: what if the government is no longer able to fund its daily operations? Right now the US government requires something like $2 billion EACH DAY to pay the bills and there are indications that money may dry up. The projected budget shortfall for Fiscal ‘09 exceed $1 trillion. As China’s system implodes (because we aren’t buying their junk), they will not have the reserves to continue buying US government debt. And as oil prices retract, the Saudis won’t have the cash to continue buying US debt either. Sen. DeMint speculated the real reason for the bailout was a threat from China and the Saudis, basically a margin call on the US government.
From the AP on Sept 17, 2008:
And then this week we were on the verge of a “liquidity trap.”
From Wikipedia: a liquidity trap occurs when the nominal interest rate is close or equal to zero, and the monetary authority is unable to stimulate the economy with traditional monetary policy tools. In this kind of situation, people do not expect high returns on physical or financial investments, so they keep assets in short-term cash bank accounts or hoards rather than making long-term investments. This makes a recession even more severe, and can contribute to deflation.
So, can you tell me what will happen when there is no more foreign money available to keep our government afloat? What happens when the FED loses its ability to stimulate our economy as they’ve been doing for decades? I don’t know for sure, but I am afraid I do.
flyfisher on November 16, 2008 at 11:18 AM
What happens is that the only buyer for dollars will be the Fed and the currency is wiped out and we become the Weimar Republic.

As a student of the Word, I’m amazed that so many allow the foolish lie of the rapture to think they will be spared the journey ahead. It’s not happening, you’re all here for the bumpy ride. Hal Lindsey and the Left Behind folk have done a tremendous amount of damage spreading this easily debunked “rapture” lie.

What is more secure than Government Bonds? Debt is good. No debt. No money. On your way to work tomorrow look around ask yourself what is the real value of all the infrastructure you see. Investing in the freest, strongest, most stable, oldest and most profitable Democracy in history seems to be a no brainer. Having said that…honestly I don’t know shid about economics. So I have stocked up on ammo…heh.

Plus, according to what I’ve read, Australia actually enforces its immigration laws (imagine that!). They only accept new immigrants under 40, and give preference to those who have skills needed in their country. Unlike the U.S, they don’t allow any foreigner — no matter how old, criminal, diseased, unskilled, uneducated, etc. — who makes it across their borders to take up residence there. They only want people who can actually contribute something of value to their country, rather than just signing up for all the taxpayer-financed benefits they can get. What a concept, eh? The government of Australia actually formulating an immigration policy that puts the interests of Australians first. Imagine what our country would be like today if our government had done the same.

Not calling anyone out for their decision or anything, but I can’t imagine giving up and moving out of this nation instead of staying and trying to make it better.
Yes, it may be tough. Yes, it may be a while and we may lose some liberties until a conservative leader emerges to lead us back to American individualism.
But to cut and run? Come on. That’s just not American, is it?
Again, that’s just my position.

Please don’t misunderstand me, Australia has been a friend, a great friend of this country for a very long time. What I can’t understand is how the people of Australia let your ultra left {Australian Democratic Party} take away your guns without a fight. “Crocodile Dundee” {the real Crocodile Dundee} believed the police were coming to confiscate his unregistered firearms and he was kill? The few people I have meet from down/under are not the kind of people to let so ass/hole take there guns without one hell of a freaking fight. Also, if police can enter your house and search for guns, copy the hard drive of your computer, seize records, and do it all without a search warrant, you got a problem.
Yes, Australia has never had a civil war/revolutionary war. Perhaps with this NEW POS president that 60% of these mindless robots elected, what’s happing down/under is fixing to happen in the States. If so, there will be another war in the states. The day these liberal bastard think they can enter homes and seize, will/never happen!!

Australia was founded and populated differently than was the US. Australia had for many years a fairly homogeneous population.Australia was saved from a Japanese invasion because of US actions in the Coral Sea and Midway.Otherwise- it would have had an internal war, indeed, and a horrific and brutal invasion. Like most other free countries, after WW2, Australia was able to spend a great deal of it’s GNP on social concerns, because, like Europe, it was under the American Military and Nuclear umbrella. It advanced, like Europe, because it had Americans protecting it, because America spent it’s blood and treasure to protect western civilization.
Now America has been dumbed down to the point we have of our own free will elected a socialist as President.(with the incessant drumbeat of the obamamedia in the background)
How this will all end, I do not know.Because you all have conceded to the gungrabbers, the right-takers,I don’t guess we can depend on y’all for any help.

1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
-
Clouds is a figure of speech, easily proven here:
Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
-
Also, 1st Thess specifically says that if we believe that Jesus resurrected then we must also believe that we too resurrect upon our death and that we don’t lay in some grave until His return. Paul clarified the timeline in 2nd Thess chapter 2 in direct response to people twisting the words of the original Epistle so as to make is seem something it was not. In 2nd Thess chapter 2 he says that Christ does not return until “that man of sin be revealed.” There, end game, no rapture, only a second coming.
Unfortunately, some church denominations have chosen to teach this easily debunked lie. Also some members of those churches have chosen to make themselves wealthy by writing books marketing this lie such as the Left Behind authors. I find it rather sad that so many Christians have chosen to use the writings of men such as Lindsey and Tim Lahaye rather than to do the hard work of studying the Biblical texts themselves to gain understanding. Sheer laziness.
This chosen laziness has led many to allow themselves to believe such tripe as the “rapture” and “tongues.” They are setting themselves up to be deceived.
There is no 1.5 coming of Christ, there is His birth and resurrection and then a second coming. No magical in between appearances to save a bunch of lazy people that should be working in the field getting things done.
Gosh, I can’t believe people are sitting around waiting thinking they are not going to have to be the warriors God expects them to be, there is no get out of jail free card.
