Video: Forces of tolerance confront Proposition 8 supporter

Via Ace, bravely blogging through a case of the shivering douchechills. Reminds me of that old Onion piece, except with terrified senior citizens and styrofoam crosses being snatched and broken. Charges will, apparently, be filed.

I don’t know what these dudes are so upset about. Surely they don’t think the California Supreme Court’s going to let the public get away with this, do they? Click the image to watch.

I would rather go to the above Church then the ones that many call their churches. But, I am agnostic. Use to be different. Seen the hypocrites for to long that go to the REAL Churches. They get out and go home. Crack the booze or roll a joint. Beat their wives, The men the women run around and cheat on each other. They let their kids disrespect them. No morals or goals set. When a fact of true reality comes. Then they quote Bible scripts to you. I don’t think I have ever met a TRUE Christian.

MC,

You’re inviting attack on the Christian Church?

I have done no such thing. Stating that a core part of Christian doctrine which happens to be non-liberal in an overwhelming liberal society might make it look like I’m inviting an attack upon Christianity but that doesn’t make it so.

Then you’re one of the things that really makes me question why I bother to defend Christianity against atheist fundamentalists.

You have objected to obscene rhetorical attacks by atheists on Christians and complained about violence against Christians by deranged people. However that is not the same thing as defending Christianity. If someone suggests that Christianity is not moderate on the issue of homosexuality (which pretty much everyone knows it is not) you get very upset.

You’re a self-made victim, pal. You goad people into attacking you because you can use it for whining points. You hurt the cause you claim to be for.

Not true at all. Basically stating what everyone (except yourself and JetBoy) know which is that Christians do not approve of homosexuality is not an invite for attack or whining about persecution.

Moderate fundamentalist? What the hell does that even mean? That’s a contradiction in terms.

You interject yourself into every homosexual marriage debate as an umpire. You give out to atheists who are too extreme and Christians who go off the rails in damning people – which is good.

However if someone states the basic truth that Christianity does not approve of homosexuality or that Christians should follow the word of the Lord you get very upset. Why can’t everyone just get along?

So you would rather go to a church that sanctifies homosexual marriages because you’ve been to churches that didn’t and everyone you met was a hypocrite and/or an asshole?

Therefore what?

Who do you think you are? Did I say that? You are a self righteous idiot. Is that all you have on your mind? Reading your posts, you don’t even sound intelligent at that. You just proved my point! You are a asshole! Love how you twisted what I had wrote. Are you sure you are not a leftist? Learn to read ones words. That wasn’t my point. You passed the test.

sheebe on November 12, 2008 at 11:06 PM

You would be better off attacking Christianity as intolerant than trying to float the fallacy that a church can both call itself Christian and endorse homosexuality.

aengus on November 12, 2008 at 10:38 PM

You are advising me to attack Christianity as intolerant, despite my knowing otherwise.

You keep making your claim that all Christians disapprove of homosexuality, and if they don’t they are not Christians. The problem is that I, and many others, know plenty of Christians who have no problem with homosexuality because Jesus’ message was “love one another”. You are taking it upon yourself to call into question the beliefs of others and proclaim yourself the model of Christianity. Hence the problem. Pride, sir. One of the seven.

Why can’t everyone just get along?

aengus on November 12, 2008 at 10:55 PM

How appropriate that you use a line from Rodney King. He led the cops on an 8-mile chase at speeds of over 100 miles an hour, was found to be drunk and high on weed, and attacked officers numerous times. The end result was his being portrayed as a “victim”.

Yikes!

Okay. Sorry.

The “pseudo-Christian” churches I was complaining about were ones that ignore a very basic tenet of Christian doctrine.

Its not as if I was advancing an extreme sectarian view on some minor point of difference.

You seem to have had a bad experience going to church but what do you conclude from that?

Ugh. Go hang out with SaintOlaf, right4life, and apocalyps. I’m sure you can all discuss how each of your versions of Christianity is right and everyone else’s is not Christianity.

Wait…

MadisonConservative on November 12, 2008 at 11:12 PM

You are advising me to attack Christianity as intolerant, despite my knowing otherwise.

Oh I see. I didn’t mean that you should attack Christianity as intolerant but that it might suit you better if you are so determined that same-sex marriage be instituted.

You keep making your claim that all Christians disapprove of homosexuality, and if they don’t they are not Christians.

I made the claim that Christianity does not licence homosexual marriage as a sacrament which is true and not up for debate.

The problem is that I, and many others, know plenty of Christians who have no problem with homosexuality because Jesus’ message was “love one another”.

I don’t have any pressing animus against homosexuals but that is not the same thing as saying that homosexual marriage is valid under Christianity. It just isn’t and everyone knows that. Its not really a point of contention among any but fringe denominations.

You are taking it upon yourself to call into question the beliefs of others and proclaim yourself the model of Christianity.

I never proclaimed myself the “model of Christianity”. I would do no such thing.

Hence the problem. Pride, sir. One of the seven.

I am well aware of the pitfalls of pride. Making non-controversial statements about Christian doctrine does not apply.

aengus on November 12, 2008 at 11:23 PM

Claiming that other churches are “sham churches” implies that you believe its followers to not be sham Christians.
To claim that Christians who don’t disapprove of homosexuality are not Christian is the height of pride, and it implies that you consider your beliefs to be the model of Christianity.

MadisonConservative on November 12, 2008 at 11:31 PM

aengus on November 12, 2008 at 11:27 PM

The Pope believes in a lot of crap that most Christians disregard. The Pope believes Islam is a religion of peace. Do you buy that? The Pope is a figurehead, not an authority.

I apologize, I didn’t read carefully enough. Based on my experience in the religious community, I am saying that the opinion that Christianity disapproves of homosexuality is a fundamentalist view rather than a mainstream one. Obviously, the view on gay marriage is a highly controversial one.

MadisonConservative on November 12, 2008 at 11:34 PM

Claiming that other churches are “sham churches” implies that you believe its followers to not be sham Christians.

Implies nothing.

The Catholic church is afraid to defrock Father Pleger. While they feel his sermons are deeply wrong and mistaken they are worried if he goes his own way he might take his flock with him – they being baptised Catholic and their souls in danger if they go with this man.

To claim that Christians who don’t disapprove of homosexuality are not Christian is the height of pride, and it implies that you consider your beliefs to be the model of Christianity.

I didn’t actually make that claim. I stated that churches that perform homosexual marriages are no longer Christian churches which is true. That does not mean the whole flock is doomed. It is not a sin per se to approve of homosexuals though I don’t see what is to be gained by it. I can assure you that when I interact with homosexuals at work I do not harangue them with Catholic doctrine. We’re all free to live our lives.

aengus on November 12, 2008 at 11:41 PM

Well as for Islam that was mainly the last Pope, Paul John Paul II. Pope Benedict XVI is a very respected theologian worldwide. Catholic doctrine does not require I agree in my conscience with his every view. However if you think that only being in favour of civil unions and not homosexual marriage is an extreme, fundamentalist view then you are somewhat sheltered.

A punny conversation about having a couple drinks with Madison has apparently given me a scarlet letter in his eyes. He likes to bring it up as though it’s something I’m ashamed of, which is stupid.

Esthier on November 12, 2008 at 5:43 PM

Obviously you’re not ashamed. You said you’re a Christian right? You’re married. You have a husband? Tell me, should a married Christian lady to be lusting with other men besides her husband? Are these comments that a believer would make?

NOTE: Comments taken from the “Schumer on the Fairness Doctrine: Just think of it as regulating pornography”, and the “Connecticut Supreme Court legalizes gay marriage” threads.

Esthier: “If either two were not true, I’d much rather meet up with him (MadisonConservative) than you (right4life) even without the drinks.”

MadisonConservative: “I’d make you see god, honey.” (NOTE: Notice Esthier ignores Madison’s using God’s name in a sick disgusting way when she responds below. “You shall not take the name of God in vain.” Exodus 20:7)

Esthier: “Oh, I’d certainly return the favor (ie, have sex with you too). After wards you’d be singing solos in the church choir.”

MadisonConservative: “Esthier, joy of man’s desiring.”

****************** END OF PART 1 ******************

Would any of you men feel comfortable with your wife talking to other men like this? Esthier claims this is “A punny conversation about having a couple drinks with Madison”,.. oh, really…well, she seem to have a habit of puny conversations. Read on:

Esthier: “The way you (MadisonConservative) wrote this, almost with a tone as though you’re concerned I might actually pleasure myself on my own front lawn… really amused me…”

MadisonConservative: “…well, that thought just ensured 15 minutes I’ll have to set aside tonight.”

Esthier: “A full 15? I take that as a complement.”

MadisonConservative: “A thought like that is like a fine wine… enjoy it slowly.”

Esthier: “I love wine specifically Cabernet, but tonight… I’m starting the night with Dark Russians … I’ll need as many as I can take today. It’s going to be rough.”

MadisonConservative: “Don’t let those Russians get too rough with you.”

Esthier: “Depends on how tonight goes. I might want them to.”

MadisonConservative: “Ah, you’re one of those.”

Esthier: “I can be frightening at times, but my snizz is uninhabited and won’t eat a man whole.”

MadisonConservative: “Can’t take your word on that. Have to do a routine inspection. Should be done in a half hour.”

Esthier: “You’re right. I’m completely worth it.”

MadisonConservative: “You may feel some pressure at a consistent, repetitive rate. A feeling of euphoria should indicate the examination is proceeding successfully.”

MadisonConservative: “The test will only take about two minutes.”

Esthier: “So long as it’s thorough and ends as you promised, in which case I’m not sure one test is effective.”

MadisonConservative: “These tests often require follow-up consultations. We have to be thorough.”

Esthier: “You never disappoint… it’s time for happy hours to begin.”

Esthier: “Might as well enjoy it.”

Esthier: “Without believing, he (MadisonConservative) actually practices what Jesus preached.”

****************** END OF PART 2 ******************

I said to Esthier on time. I said Esthier,

apacalyps: “You defend wicked vile sinners like Madison more than you do the Rock of Ages (God).”

In which she replied:

Esthier: “I’ve no proof that Madison is a sinner anymore than you are.”

Unbelievable. After all that filthy conversation too. She says that Madison isn’t a sninner even though Romans 3:23 says, “For ALL HAVE SINNED, and come short of the glory of God.” These are not comments that a believer would make, folks. Let me explain something. I’ve lusted and sinned lot’s of times in my life. I’m a wicked vile sinner. But, I’ll tell you no problem that it’s wrong! And if I get weak and do it again, I’m gonna repent again, and try not to do it again! Esthier though, she doesn’t see anything wrong with her actions. This is no big deal to her. She’s not sinning. Neither is Madison. Let’s ask Esthiers husband and get his opinion, huh? Esthiers contradict the fundamentals of the Christian faith without remorse. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather be around an honest sinner than a phony Christian any day.

apacalyps on November 13, 2008 at 3:00 AM

So, this dude spends his time and energy fielding the flirtacious comments between two posters under anonymous monikers on the comments section of a political website.

The answer is clear, but begs a further question: How do we get this guy laid?

MadisonConservative on November 13, 2008 at 9:51 AM

Uh…no, hogger. I would agree with you about defending that elderly lady – whom I vigorously disagree with btw. Folks who cannot temper their passions enough to avoid picking on grandmothers are beneath contempt. I understand their anger but do not approve at all their means of expressing it. Whomever pushed her and smashed up the cross she was carrying needs to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. If it were my mother or grandmother, my response wouldn’t be so diplomatic…

JohnAGJ on November 13, 2008 at 9:53 AM

Obviously you’re not ashamed. You said you’re a Christian right? You’re married. You have a husband? Tell me, should a married Christian lady to be lusting with other men besides her husband? Are these comments that a believer would make?

I’m not lusting after Madison. I have no desire to sleep with him, and he has no desire to sleep with me. He has his own fiance; I have my own husband. I’m sure both of our sexual needs are met perfectly by our better halfs.

I supposed you imagine I type one-handed (projection is really pathetic sometimes), but really you’re taking this far more seriously than either Madison or myself ever did. It was light hearted joking, no more, no less.

Esthier: “Oh, I’d certainly return the favor (ie, have sex with you too). After wards you’d be singing solos in the church choir.”

You don’t even understand basic metaphors here.

Even going by your own understanding of the conversation, Madison was clearly implying that he’s so good in bed that I’d see God, try having sex and you’ll see that it’s possible. I’m not even lying about that or using God’s name in vain. God is real, and sex is one of His greatest gifts. For me to “return the favor” it would mean that I’m also bragging about my own skills.

And no, I’m not ashamed of that.

I’m not going to defend myself, but it’s awfully telling that you keep attacking me. Whatever you want from me, you’re not going to get it, so feel free to find a new obsession.

She says that Madison isn’t a sninner even

No, I didn’t say he isn’t a sninner. Sninners don’t exist.

I also never said Madison wasn’t a sinner either. I simply said, as plainly as possible, that I have no proof that he’s a sinner any more than I have proof that you are. My point, since apparently that’s not plain enough for you, is that I see Madison as no worse than you are even though you seem to view yourself as high above us all.

I don’t know about you, but I’d rather be around an honest sinner than a phony Christian any day.

Madison is a man who scoffs at God — ridicules Christians and the Bible. Has made horrible comments to others like, “You’re a shameful little mistake, and your mother should have impaled you with a coathanger in the womb.” He uses the Lord’s name in vain (Exodus 20:7) uses it as a filth word to describe the sexual gratification he would give you and you don’t utter a word that that is not right. In fact, you encourage him and as the married Christian lady you profess to be, and tell him you’d return the sexual favor.

Esthier: “If either two were not true, I’d much rather meet up with him (MadisonConservative) than you (right4life) even without the drinks.”

MadisonConservative: “I’d make you see god, honey.”

Esthier: “Oh, I’d certainly return the favor (ie, have sex with you too). After wards you’d be singing solos in the church choir.”

Well, this sort of unrepentant attitude just reaffirms what I’ve been warning people here about. You’re always trying to obscure the truth. A liar who won’t admit when they are wrong. A phony.

Esthier on November 13, 2008 at 3:36 PM

apacalyps on November 13, 2008 at 3:27 PM

And seriously, you keep bolding the same quotes. “Without the drinks” literally meant without the drinks, but that’s the whole point of puns, that they can have different meanings.

Were Madison a neighbor, I would enjoy his company in person far more than any of you who claim to be Christians yet spew so much hate on this site that you more effectively work against God.

This isn’t the Taliban, apacalyps. Men and women can be friends. It doesn’t offend God.

And as to the rest, I sincerely was making a joke, one that’s a little more personal. My husband, like pretty much every guy I ever dated, was not a Christian when we first started dating.

My last boyfriend had never really gone to church before dating me. By the time I broke up with him, he literally was singing solos in the church choir. He’s now a Music Minister at another church.

See, when you’re not an @ss to people, it’s actually possible to get them to listen to you and see God, not because you’re preaching to them or trying to beat them over the head with a Bible.

I respect Madison, and I respect his intelligence. I know he’s read the Bible before and has an understanding of Christianity, and while I don’t agree with the conclusions he’s drawn on Christ, I understand that they’re his conclusions to draw.

You respect no one except those who parrot the things you believe and disrespect God’s creation with your anger and hatred.

You don’t know peace, and you don’t know love. You worry about others’ sins while forgetting the most basic commandment Jesus gave; love God; love everyone else.

I’d pray for you, but you’re not receptive and won’t change until you decide you want to love God more than you love yourself.

Esthier on November 13, 2008 at 3:55 PM

I’m not going to defend myself, but it’s awfully telling that you keep attacking me.

That’s another lie. Go back and read the thread. You responded to me first, as is usually the case. I didn’t message you. You messaged me! You couldn’t help yourself. You’re like a moth to the flame. Always fighting with the real Christians in this forum. Look, here’s the problem I have with folks like you. You identify yourself as a Christian and yet, you take positions completely opposite to what the Bible teaches and what a Christian would believe. You are the ones who allow darkness (lies) to mix with the light (truth). Your statements contradict the fundamentals of the Christian faith. Jesus said, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). He said that for a specific reason. You have two choices. You can either be Scriptural and demand righteousness, or you can drop Scripture and righteousness and live according to the world. God took my rotten dirty heart, that loved to lust. That prefered lying, stealing, and lying to tell the truth. I was no different than any other person I just hid it very well. He took me and He transformed me. He gave me new desires for what is right, rather than for what’s wrong. He opened up the Bible to me it was like a light comin’ on God’s Word. You need LIGHT Esthier! That’s what YOU need! You’re blind in your sins.. your dead in your sins.. I can’t convince you, you gotta do it yourself… and you don’t wanna cuz you love your sin. You’re a slave to pornography. You love your extra-marital sex. You just CAN’T help it. You’re like a slave… you’re like a moth to a flame. God says if you call out to me, I’ll save you from your sins. I’ll save you from hell. I’ll save you from judgment day, Call on God and you’ll save yourself, Esthier.

You’re a slave to pornography. You love your extra-marital sex.

Porn involves pictures, at the very least, and sex involves actual sexual interaction of some kind.

If your parents didn’t teach you that when you started getting those tingly feelings in your pants as a kid, then maybe it’s too late for you.

The only person I’ve ever had any sexual activity with of any kind is my husband. He can’t say the same about me, but my love isn’t as conditional as yours is.

Madison is a man who scoffs at God — ridicules Christians and the Bible.

apacalyps on November 13, 2008 at 3:27 PM

Let’s get a few things straight.

I don’t scoff at things I don’t believe in. Strike one.

I don’t ridicule Christians. I defend them. Strike two.

I don’t ridicule the Bible. I ridicule creepy little cultists like you who worship the Bible more than you worship Jesus Christ or god, and then claim to call yourself Christian. You’re nothing of the kind. You’re a Bible Worship Cultist. You idolize a chunk of wood pulp. And it says a lot about you. Strike three.

You’re out, you pusillanimous little puke.

Esthier, I say this emphatically: Waste no more time on this worthless little psychotic pusbag. He’s right up there with SaintOlaf and right4life, completing the Three Stooges.

I’d pray for you, BUT you’re not receptive….

Esthier on November 13, 2008 at 3:55 PM

Yeah, that’s always a good reason NOT to pray for somebody. The Bible says the exact opposite concerning the lost in Acts 26:18. It says we should pray for God, “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins.” You can NOT pray for me all you want, Esthier. I love you. And I will be praying that you, “Repent.. and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out (remembered no more), when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord (when you stand before God).” Acts 3:19

Listen to MadisonConservative, Esthier. The man who calls the Holy Bible a “chunk of wood pulp”. Go on and take his advice, just don’t forget, “She that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.” 1 Timothy 5:6

Did you think your song and dance and your superstition would help you, apacalyps? I am the Third Revelation! I am who the Lord has chosen because I’m smarter than you. I am older and wiser and I am not a false prophet, you sniveling boy! I am the Third Revelation! I am the Third Revelation! I told you I would eat you up!

You really like to twist peoples’ words. You already know where I stand, and there really is nothing left to say.

MadisonConservative on November 13, 2008 at 5:47 PM

Third?

See “There Will Be Blood” if you haven’t already. Phenomenal film.

I hate to admit it, but I slept through it. Too many Russians that night.

Put some more Kahlua in those Russians so you can stay up and watch the film. All the way to the end.

I’ll try it again on your recommendation. Maybe with my first drink, rum and coke, for the caffeine.
