Today, on the Ed Morrissey Show (3 pm ET), we’ll focus on the Senate. In the first half, we’ll speak with Vin Weber, former Minnesota Congressman and Republican Party activist. He’ll talk through the recount process and the concerns we’re seeing now. In the second half, John Randall of the NRSC will talk more about the new Minnesota Recount site, as well as the run-off election in Georgia and the wait on the Alaskan election to see whether the GOP will retain that seat.

Now you can join the conversation in the chat room! Be sure to register at Ustream to participate in our raucous live-chat sessions. (And if the log-in prompt doesn’t come up in the chat box below, use this link instead.) Jazz Shaw of The Moderate Voice moderates the chat, and he has his Troll Gun Trivia Contest running before the show, for those who get there early — and are registered!

Here’s a story that should be getting some more attention: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1108/15497.html

So, by skipping public funding, Obama ALSO gets out of the audit of his campaign finances? How is that fair? I’m pretty sure he’d be the first modern candidate who didn’t have to go thru an audit, since everyone else accepted public financing.

This was seriously win-win. Bring in millions of unattributed dollars, and don’t have to worry about an audit BECAUSE of it.

Cap’n Ed, thanks for posting that nice photo of Vin Weber. I fondly remember the Five Amigos of Congress: Weber, Gingrich, Jack Kemp, Connie Mack and Trent Lott. That was the high watermark of the House GOP, IMHO.

Vin Weber, paid lobbyist for anti-Israel gulf nations and the guy who did a 180 on Israel. Yes, that’s a guy Hot Air should be promoting. Awesome.
