I saw a poll on monday that said 55% would not mind people making over 250 K a year pay 75% in taxes as long as the money was given to the people making under 50K a year.

Yeah, those nonproductive parasites are really going to enjoy being unemployed and penniless when the federal government goes under. Who do they think is going to bail out Washington when all that deficit spending catches up to it?

I don’t know why it’s so hard for people to understand that while government can use its muscle to redistribute existing wealth, only free-market capitalism allows individuals to create more wealth. Forcing successful businessmen to give up their money in order to dole out government charity does far less to help the working class and the poor than staying out of their way and allowing them to create jobs and useful goods and services. Hell, in America, individuals voluntarily give so much more of their wealth to private charities than citizens of other countries that if the government really cared about the poor and the desperate, they wouldn’t tax us at all.

Obama/Reid/Pelosi shouldn’t last more than one election cycle once the electorate realizes that they didn’t actually vote in change and hope, but a fringe dope.

Yea… I’m in college and that is the LAST thing I want to do. Payed or not, I don’t want to do jack for Mr. Obama.

# 2: The majority of the blissfully uninformed American public don’t really know Obama yet…. but they are about to. Especially when the portion of that 59% find out if they have a mortgage payment that they are will still have to pay it or lose their house.

Seriously, when I talk to co-workers about Obama’s positions, they are shocked when I clue them in on some of past votes and stances. Props to HA for preventing me from being part of the blissfully uninformed crowd.

No, but that definitely pushes it along.

Liberty dies because we have a “free” press that fails to do it’s job in an responsible, honest and fair way – essentially becoming the propagandists for the Democrats and the destroyers of Republicans.

It dies because too many Americans are mis-informed and too stupid to understand that they are being lied to. It dies because too many individuals and the press work to advance their own selfish agendas rather than to advance what’s best for the USA. It dies because our schools do not teach the history and principles of our nation any more. It dies because both parties have pushed their selfish agendas rather than do what’s best for the country.

I sure hope that by losing the Republicans find some of the county’s founding principles and grow candidates that will truly abide by them – otherwise all is lost.

The Dems have done all they can to guarantee an ignorant populace by their control of the education establishment.

I don’t know, are the Democrats really smart enough to produce such a stupid system? I’d say it is more their natural incompetence coming back to help them then anything intentional.

1) Lower taxes (they’ll only raise taxes on someone else)
2) A government bailout for your industry
3) Free health care
4) Help with your mortgage
5) The immediate end to the WoT with *no* drawbacks
6) Cheap, plentiful alternative energy

In some ways I’m surprised it is only 59%. Who doesn’t want a whole lot of something for nothing? I guess the way to look at this poll is that 41% of voters actually bother to ask where all this “free” stuff is going to come from, and 59% believe whatever the idiotbox tells them.
