Video: YouTube issues impossible challenge to users

Clearly, The Onion is unfamiliar with the oeuvre of one Mr. Tay Zonday.

You watch this and then you look me in the eye and tell me you don’t know where that $100,000 is going.

You know what?

No.

I can feel in my bones what it will be.

An old test pattern from the 50′s TV broadcast would work for me.

“There is a strong possibility all entries will suck. Certainly, all entries so far have pointed to that.”

LOL

Pretty funny. I guess this is a silver lining to the elections being over. Good, clean fun.
Thank you Mr. Allahpundit.

You mean ball bearings dropping into peanut butter don’t count!?!

WTF!

profitsbeard on November 10, 2008 at 8:25 PM

Off-topic: Just saw a clip of the Proposition 8 protesters at Rick Warren’s church this weekend, on Bill O’Reilly. Blocking streets and entrances in to the church for services. Angry drivers obviously. But – this morning I read on the LA Times : “Many cars honking in support”.

Back to the regular news -

Marcus on November 10, 2008 at 8:26 PM

Allah,
Please – i loved getting rick rolled – but tay rolled ? that guy is almost sad reading the lyrics. It did help me laugh a bit though- thanks !

Cracked videos are funnier.

What the heck is salvia? (showing my age here).

HawaiiLwyr on November 10, 2008 at 8:43 PM

NUMA NUMA gets my vote every time, or another Sparta remix. Of course, for candid vids, the lady falling out of the grape stomper had my teen glued to the PC for weeks. All sans informative content, however.

Over30 on November 10, 2008 at 8:50 PM

Salvia Divinorum. Not some herb out of Harry Potter, but a real hallucinogenic. Not necessarily illegal in most states, though I think Delaware wants to try to outlaw it because someone killed himself on it there.

Jewel on November 10, 2008 at 8:54 PM

Youtube commentators are often so outrageously stupid I’m amazed they are even able to operate a PC.

That video appeared to be a clip from what would be a modern remake of Reefer Madness

I don’t think YouTube understands the sick twisted magic that is YouTube.

Well………….. I think I found another contender:

The Second American Revolution

Seven Percent Solution on November 10, 2008 at 9:36 PM

I watched it to the very end and my roomate liked it. He hits good clean notes. But…is terrible. Strange what becomes popular on utube.

anti-boomer on November 10, 2008 at 9:51 PM

Froggy was the original low voice kid. Tay Zonday just took it to the next level.

It is commonly known as sage, several forms are cooking herps others not so much but always pretty in the garden with its spikes of flowers. It is a large family of plants.

“John Malkin”. Coincidence?

The Monster on November 10, 2008 at 11:07 PM

This is a great story, Allah.
I can’t believe the low number of comments. I guess it takes a run of the mill obama is a marxist story or someone attacked sarah palin story to get the comment numbers up.
Sad.

No controversy here. Everybody agrees with the premise.

Apparently the newbz at teh Onion have never seen Ask-A-Ninja!

TMK on November 11, 2008 at 1:01 AM

The Onion should offer $100,000 prizes for video submissions to The Onion that are “actually funny”.

greggish on November 11, 2008 at 4:17 AM

Would have been funnier of the reporter was Geoff Tate and not Jeff Tate. Maybe a cameo from Sister Mary or something.

matd on November 11, 2008 at 8:44 AM

Man o’man I was log splitting last night @ my inlaw’s. One of my favorite videos is called “The World’s Fastest Log Splitter” (there’s tons of log splitters on the “search” item). Read the comments they’re hilarious!

This one is for you, gentlemen with cojones. Thank me later.

Just because you aren’t a fan, it doesn’t mean The Onion isn’t funny.

I can’t believe the low number of comments. I guess it takes a run of the mill obama is a marxist story or someone attacked sarah palin story to get the comment numbers up.

Xolom on November 10, 2008 at 11:37 PM

Xolom, it was put out at 8pm on a Monday night. Many, many people get online while at work and turn the computer off when they get home.

Also, what is there to say on a thread like this? LOL? Youtube users just got pwned?

It’s disagreements that drive up comment counts. When everyone agrees that the video is funny, there’s really nothing else to say.
