I thought I heard last week that it was not true that Linda Lingle sealed BO’s birth certificate. It is simply that the Dept. of Health wont release it to anyone without permission due to privacy laws.

You don’t think he dyed his hair? He went from slightly grey and back, yes?

I won’t add that to my list of BHO flip-flops.

Who they going to blame when something goes wrong? How many of Obama’s staff are wondering when they’ll get thrown under the bus?

I think it’s gonna be fun to watch.

Anything that goes wrong will somehow be blamed on Bush. Anything that goes right will be credited to Hussein.

HawaiiLwyr on November 8, 2008 at 11:57 PM

Well probably the first thing that BHO will do that will take some of the shine off, will be to scratch his so called tax cut for 95% of Americans siting an ailing economy and a blow out in the federal deficit as his reason for flip flopping on his plan.

The next thing that will happen after that will be Israel bombing the crap out of Iran’s Nuke facilites because they have no confidence in the new US administration in dealing with the problem.

It actually looks like Syria may be planning a move into southern Lebanon as they are massing troops on the Lebanese border and against northern Israel. Israel is in turmoil right now and the US is in transition so they may strike before Obama becomes President.

Other signs: Being apparently unable to resist the urge to give the Signal of International Disrespect (a/k/a “The Finger”) to opponents, while pretending to praise them; surrounding himself with the trappings of a make believe office (e.g. seals, columns, premature radio addresses and speeches in foreign countries).

So if proof came out that based on his official birth certificate, he was not a natural born citizen, what would happen? Would we get to have another election? Or would we be stuck with President Biden?

ErinF on November 8, 2008 at 11:53 PM

Obama is NOT the President Elect YET. He will not be until the Electoral College votes on Dec 10. So if he is found to be Constituionaly not eligable, the Electoral vote still goes on… and it will depend on what the individual STATE laws say about how they have to vote. Some States force their Electoral folks to vote for the one on the ballot… some don’t…

But if no candidate gets 270 Electoral votes, it goes to the House of Representatives, where each State gets ONE vote… which can only be cast for the top 3 Electoral vote getters….

Thing is that even though there are more Dems in the House, I don’t think they control more States than the Repubs… so if it gets there it really gets interesting.

I refuse to descend into ODS and want to give Obama the reasonable benefit of the doubt. I am willing to be proven wrong about him and genuinely hope I am on the economic front, for all our sakes.

That said, your assessment would not surprise me were it to be proven true (to the further extent it hasn’t already been, based on the content of his two published autobiographies).

I will judge Obama the only way I rationally can – on his behavior. Suboptimal motivations can sometimes produce the right results, and vice versa. Bottom line: only the what matters, not the why.

First Dual Citizen President (possible).

First Former Moslem President (Indonesian school records)

First President whose Father was either a bigamist, or Polygamist (Barry’s Father was already married when he married Barry’s Mom).

You think he’d be more sensitive to old women. You’d think.

baldilocks on November 9, 2008 at 12:05 AM

You would think, indeed. But… having spoken in front of large crowds under pressure myself (although nothing like what Obama faced in his first press conference, making no direct comparison here)… I do sorta know what happens in these situations.

You revert to the familiar, to the “this has always worked before,” to the old standbys. Obama revealed not so much his insensitivity as he did his thus-far coddlement in a bubble filled with the like-minded. His “safety” retort turned out to be massively gaffetastic, because he really has no experience in diverse or especially adversarial milieus.

He facilely insulted Nancy Reagan because in every place he’s ever been, up till that moment, that would’ve been a perfectly hilarious response. For all his supposed cosmopolitanism I find him disturbingly provincial.

There are country hicks and Harvard hicks. The only difference is that the latter flatter themselves otherwise.

Gilda on November 9, 2008 at 12:34 AM

One thing that site failed to include is military experience besides being a General. Even Lincoln led a company of Militia during the Black hawk war in 1832. JFK commanded a PT boat in the Pacific during WWII, Nixon was a naval officer so was Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter. Reagan served in the Army Air Force as a public relations officer during WWII and Bush the elder was a navy Torpedo bomber pilot fighting in the Pacific. Even Bush the younger was was a fighter pilot in the Texas air national guard.

In fact the only US president since the end of the Second world war not to have any sort of military experience was Bill Clinton. But at least he had been Governor of Arkansas for 8 years before he became President.

Well, when you look at Barry’s “plans” for change…

And then read a bit of history…

FDR presided over a HUGE expansion of Federal Power, and programs.

Lincoln broke the power of the States, which fundamentaly changed the Power structure of the US to one of an uncontrolled Federal Government.

Its interesting that those two Presidents… who both dramaticly increased Federal Power… are being used as a comparison to the O.

Maybe they are correct, looking at Barrk O’s plans, he will fit right in…
