Via Ben Smith, who’s surprised enough to note it, and Karol, who’s seeing red from outrage. Note to The One: The fastest route to post-partisanship emphatically does not lie through Nancy Reagan jokes. Especially when she’s recovering from a broken hip.

He also sought Franklin Raines’ advise on housing. It’s like he finds the biggest failures and asks them to advise him in their respective areas. Next thing you know he’ll be asking Keith O. how not to be massive tool.

The blue eagle from his faux seal is back. Anyone notice that?

Damn!
What is Rahm–about 4 feet tall?
No wonder he’s so nasty!
“Short man complex” to the max.
The only women short enough for him are either midgets or children.

Office of the President Elect????
Man, this guy has got some serious issues. That kind of hubris always masks major insecurity. Even having won the election, he can’t seem to stop himself from continuing the stupidity with symbols during the campaign – “O-Force One”, the “presidential” seal…
ProfessorMiao on November 7, 2008 at 4:21 PM

Race Card — you missed my point entirely. It was that Amanda Carpenter, our rising conservative commentator star, can’t even recognize a Reagan insult when she hears one.
Take off the racial shades, please.

Narcissistic podium.
Jabs at a dead president’s widow.
Wow. The chance I was going to give him is drying up, and drying up fast.
MadisonConservative on November 7, 2008 at 4:24 PM
With ballerinas, it is the more petite the better? Seriously, though, he truly has the Napolean complex. Majority of that rage can easily be traced to his short stature. Got a friend who’s 5′2″ – great guy but don’t cross him ’cause he’s got a big old chip on his shoulders about his diminuitive nature.
ellenb on November 7, 2008 at 4:24 PM
I’m not sure (except for ACORN) why he felt the need to distance himself from talking with dead presidents.
I mean for crying out loud, are the dead only good for voting?
How mean!
Saaaadiisst!
kybowexar on November 7, 2008 at 4:24 PM
But, but, but…. that happened when Obama was only 20 years old. And probably stoned out of his head on coke.

Actually, I am very afraid to hear his answer.
Probably, something like “Hey, somebody’s got to be god…”

I hate to say it but the Napoleon complex is real. Those who don’t deal with it by being angry (Rahm Emanuel, Martin Katz) deal with it by being funny (Dudley Moore, Danny DeVito).

It’s more like:
The democrats have made it so bad in every state they govern; that the fear of electing someone who might take away their benefits forces them to re-elect them in power. The concept that the other party could help the economy in the long run is secondary to their immediate needs.
That’s how they continue to be elected.
lorien1973 on November 7, 2008 at 4:29 PM
Obama whined about the right criticizing his wife for her anti American comments but feels compelled to attack Nancy Reagan? What a tool!

We’re getting an administration that’s a shrink’s dream. With all the crackpots, we’ll need a new department. Obama – narcissism; Emmanuel – napolean complex; Gibbs – anger management issues; Biden – early signs of dementia. Iim sure the list will only grow!

CableDude on November 7, 2008 at 4:34 PM
Quick and easy and elegant reply: “Yes, all the former presidents have graciously congratulated me and I am grateful for their proffered support.”
Obama looks elegant, speaks (when teleprompted) with elegance, but off the cuff reverts to an expedient, and totally uncalled for thug attack on a very sweet, well-loved, former First Lady. He was boorish and needs to publicly apologize to Nancy Reagan.

I am doing a study on Michigan’s GDP since 1997. Under Engler, everything was booming. Michigan was a state people looked to as the way to run a state. Under Granholm, Construction, Manufacturing (the lifeblood of this state), and durable goods are WAY down. We have 8.7% unemployment, and nothing on the horizon to make things look better. I am going to post the actual numbers on my blog in the next couple days.
And this is what Obama wants to do with the country.
ConservativeLawStudent on November 7, 2008 at 4:40 PM

OK. Sitting on my barstool on the Tuesday of Doom, I was chatting with the moron on my right, wearing his disgusting anti-Palin shirt. So, no question who he voted for. He says to me “Well, I pretty much expect that he’ll be assassinated within a month anyway” (Ya’all know who I’m refering to – chalk it up to my newfound paranoia that I’m not going to post anything with his name and that word in the same sentence…lest the O-shirts come a knockin’). I looked at him and said – “Wow – so you voted to stick us with Biden, then?”. Look on his face…priceless. Did anyone checking the box for this ticket THINK AT ALL? ABOUT ANYTHING other than being part of the Hopey Changey moment?
FinallyRight on November 7, 2008 at 4:43 PM
That would be because there is no such “office”, and Barry is posturing again since needs to stay above Bush’s press coverage for the next two months.

The guy with the least experience in the room was Obama. At least when Pres. Bush was in a meeting he had experience from his past.
He flew a fighter jet as part of the Reserve, he helped run a pro baseball team and his pop was an ex Pres.
Obama is a complete newbie in every sense of the word.
The Nancy Reagan seance slap was the mean Obama, the street Obama. The same Obama that flipped off John McCain two days before the election.
Amazing but true, this is the President elect.
FireBlogger on November 7, 2008 at 4:47 PM
Yes she voted for him because of his stance on stem cell research. It was on my local talk radio show here this morning. I about crapped my pants when I heard that one.
Brat4life on November 7, 2008 at 4:48 PM
The mutt comment was self-deprecatingly humorous. However, there are many pooches in pounds and rescues who, though of mixed heritage, are actually quite “hypoallergenic.” Problem is, most dogs in shelters and rescues are not likely to be cute little puppies. And we can all admit there IS something really appealing about baby dogs. (Even if little baby people, especially those clearly marked for abortion, aren’t particularly appealing or worthy of life to Obama).

I’m glad to see that you’re all feeling so calm and rational after the election. I REALLY enjoyed kicking the GOP in the balls on Tuesday. All the news reports about Fundies freaking out in bars, vandalizing property, stocking GUNS AND AMMO!!!
The schadenfreude is wonderful. Keep it up! How’s it feel watching your precious pro-life, homophobic, crazy, nutcase religious issues slide into irrelevancy? It’s really great that you’re so amped about Snowbilly Palin. I think she’d be an excellent spokesman for your party. Sure you’ll win TONS of elections on her platform…

On a positive note, at least the people of Louisiana saw what a Republican governor could do after hurricane Katrina, and voted in Bobby Jindal (R). Joe the Plumber was able to show some courage as a ‘little guy’ who was against higher taxes on the rich as a matter of principle. We need to educate Americans and show what successful conservative economic policies can do. Ultimately, people will be motivated when they can see a better solution. Sort of like East and West Berlin showing the stark contrast. Unfortunately that may take a long time.
