It's only 0300 on Kauai and the temp is a cool 72. However, learned my snow removal technique in Minot N.D. where for 2 winter's (there is only one day of summer - and you have to be lucky to catch it) the first snow was on Halloween and the last blizzard of the season was on May 30th dumping 4 inches of snow.

Kept my snow shovel and put it on display as an antique 'Poopy Scooper'at various garage sales and can not get any takers. Maybe, I should hold on to it so I can dig my way out of the effects of 'Global Warming'.

It snowed here in Utah a few days ago too. I am not excited for winter. I've read that it's supposed to be colder than usual in this part of the country this year. *sigh*

I do remember it snowing on Halloween for us once here. I was maybe 7 at the time and dressed as a ballerina/fairy. Needless to say, it was really cold trick-or-treating. This year I was Saria from Ocarina of Time (my husband was Link and my daughter was Navi) and I was quite warm and comfortable, actually. :P

Ed,

You're obviously trying to mislead us with your phony, doctored, photoshopped picture.

Al Gore told us over three years ago that global warming would kill us all.

You sir, are a fearmonger.

Well if "W" is responsible for global warming and Hurricane Katrina, then "H" must take responsibility for bad weather from here on out. Start a letter-writing campaign, we must put an end to his terrible meteorological policies!

Time to get gasoline for the snowthrower and pick up a few bags of rock salt.

Wow, here in Virginia it's 72 degrees right now. Gonna get cold this weekend though down in the 40's at night. If predictions are correct though I may actually have to buy a winter coat this year. I had one once about 1984 or so. I'll have to find my ice scraper too, in a couple of months. Rock Salt? You gonna make ice cream?

We had our first snow the 5th of October. Winter always comes “early” in Idaho Falls!
Looking forward to another heavy winter. Just like last year.
Let it snow!

Lived in Idaho Falls in 1965/66. It was the coldest place I've ever been...or ever want to be. Most snow I've ever seen too. Loved living there though...it was a great place. Are the funny signs still on the highway out to NRTS? Like "Lava's free so make your own soap." or "Quiet, breeding reactors."

My Slovak Grandma passed to me her ritual of washing her face with the first snow of the year to prevent wrinkles.

She did have amazing skin, and I superstitiously cling to that practice.

So, Ed, I'll be watching the Ustream video at 3 pm, to see if you have a special 'glow'...

Hello from Houston…high of 78 today!

Of course August is unbearable!!!!

You should move up here to Dallas. The August temps are the same but it's a comparatively dry heat and the mosquitoes here don't travel in squadrons.

gee…Ed It’s in the high 60’s, sun is shining in NC…

Enjoy the snow!!

kanda- you know that's a heat wave for people in MN!

I grew up in NW Minnesota, close to Fargo/Moorhead. I don't miss the snow one bit. I'd take 70s everyday any day. But I understand the nostalgic of weather and Minnesotans. :-) I'll have to send this picture to my mom, who finally moved to a warmer place.
