Video: Zo on the aftermath
posted at 5:30 pm on November 6, 2008 by Allahpundit
Fox News can’t carve out half an hour from its mid-day lineup for this guy? Seriously?
On second thought, we’ve got enough Huckabee fans on FNC already. Like Mike Huckabee.

The machosauce man is awesome.

This guy needs a regular vehicle. He’s the kind of smart, funny, and “down with it” guy that can sell conservative values to the “yutes.”
Also, Jindal is the guy in 2012. I adore Sarah and would love her in the Senate. But Jindal has the smarts and wits to shred Obama… especially an Obama who will be trying to defend the catastrophe he is about to create.

I could see Joe the Plumber in the House – he should run in 2010. Tom Delay was an exterminator before going to Washington, and he certainly did battle with plenty of pests. Since Joe is used to literally putting his hands in poop, he’d be perfect to do battle with the Democrats.
Zo, on the other hand, has mad skills. I could see him in politics eventually, but first he should find his way to Fox, CNBC, Headline News, or even MSNBC, should they decide to get a little more balanced. Also, I think his pro job is as a comedian – maybe he could land a gig on Comedy Channel. I don’t think radio would be his best outlet because he’s so visual in his approach.
Phildorex on November 6, 2008 at 8:58 PM
I really like Zo (no, not in that way you dingusoids). If he’s ever in my neck of the woods, the evening is on me.
You reading this Zo? I’d be honored to spend an evening talking up a storm with you.
LimeyGeek on November 6, 2008 at 9:00 PM
Here is an Idea:
Zo is a pretty good musician, and has a band. Not my style of music, but it isn’t bad at all.
Get some conservative group together, produce a professional DVD of his bands tunes, interspersed with his political straight talk.
Pass them out FREE everywhere. Direct mail them to everyone under 30 or so.
Under normal circumstances I’d say the RNC ought to do it, but they are part of the problem, not part of the solution.
Howsabout we start our own PAC… The RPC… The Republican Peasants Committee and start doing this?

This is why I LOVE being a conservative.
ZO! 2010!
spmat on November 6, 2008 at 9:18 PM
Conservatives like Michael Steele and Bobby Jindal CAN break the mold, and will do it over time.
Red State State of Mind on November 6, 2008 at 9:21 PM
he makes a whole lot of sense in 9 mins
defendfaithandfamily on November 6, 2008 at 9:25 PM
Nonsense!!! It’ll be a throwdown between Palin and Jindal. Saw that cat (Jindal) on H&C last night. Blah. He sounds like he’s trying too hard.
My loyalty is with Palin; no and’s, if’s or but’s about it. Palin/Steele or Palin/Petraus. :) (If I spelled the General’s name wrong…sorry!)
LiquidH2O on November 6, 2008 at 9:28 PM
Isn’t Jindal a creationist / one that favors teaching creationism at schools in his state??
Love Palin, but wouldn’t go with Jindal if rumors are true.
Brazilian Neocon on November 6, 2008 at 9:54 PM
I truly love Zo. He is awesome!
I was right with him until he said “Huckabee.” But he makes a good point about Huckabee’s approachability. I just wish Huck wouldn’t keep saying things that make me cringe.
SheofTwoMinds on November 6, 2008 at 9:57 PM
I don’t mind saying that I think this is the most ridiculous reasons to oppose a candidate. Suppose, for instance, Jindal believed in that old doctrine of federalism, whereby he would vehemently defend every state’s right to decide it’s educational curriculum however it pleases. So, why, exactly, does his support for teaching design theory in LA disqualify him from serving as President?
medguy on November 6, 2008 at 10:00 PM
My GOD, but I love me some Zo!!
Go Zo!
tickleddragon on November 6, 2008 at 10:02 PM
Palin is also a creationist, and so are millions of conservatives.
But thanks for being exclusionary. It’s classy.
fossten on November 6, 2008 at 10:03 PM
Radio is ideal.
ackrite55 on November 6, 2008 at 10:06 PM
I for one would love to see the kind of open-mindedness that Jindal favors in the schools. Children should be taught about Darwinism/evolution in order to understand our modern culture, but true science involves evaluating different theories. What about these critical-thinking skills we say we want our children to learn?
SheofTwoMinds on November 6, 2008 at 10:11 PM
I like this guy, but Huckabee? Please. After McCain got the nomination, my only consolation was that it wasn’t Huckabee.
Better choices than Huckabee?
1. Palin
2. Hunter
3. Romney
4. Jindal
5. Tancredo
People better wake up from the Huckabee crap or we will lose next time, too.
TechieNotTrekkie on November 6, 2008 at 10:13 PM
Great list!

tdavisjr on November 6, 2008 at 6:12 PM
Huckabee wasn’t held to any standard. Romney had to make attack ads against him because nobody was reporting on his past mistakes at all, they were too busy digging through Mitt’s trash cans and interrogating his landscapers.
thecountofincognito on November 6, 2008 at 10:39 PM
Michael Steele…are you listening?
kas on November 6, 2008 at 10:39 PM
Caveat: I skipped ahead to page 2 without reading all comments – so I am sorry if I repeat something that has been previously said.
I started reading comments about Zo and Joe the Plumber being in Congress or some other political office. I realized that being in office makes conservatives lose their message. What we Conservatives need is to establish a way to pay “lobbyists” to lobby the American people all the time and to remind people what we are all about. Just buy commercials, hold meetings, get the word out. We are challenged by biased media and a compressed time frame and an incoherant message. Lots of people who blindly vote “D” are uninformed. Lets keep Joe and ZO and others out there educating people.
HawaiiLwyr on November 6, 2008 at 10:41 PM
Sign this guy up!! Let’s start winning 2012 today. Not by stupid stuff like coining those “super-creative” words like the ObamaHitler or anything.

Aloha, fellow Hawaiian conservative…got to love Hawaii where they pass making weed a “low enforcement priority” ( read, its against the law, but go ahead because we will ignore the law ) on the Big Island, but if a cop catches you not wearing a seatbelt?! $90 fine.

This guy is AMAZING.
He needs to get a tv show or something!
Capital Mess on November 6, 2008 at 11:36 PM
I like Zo, but Keyes is a certifiable whack job. He should get a Fox News show though or at least get to be on Huckabee as a regular commentator.
Illinidiva on November 6, 2008 at 11:52 PM
I’m looking forward to the rise of conservatism over the next few years. Palin, Jindal and Demint will lead strong and true.
ErinF on November 6, 2008 at 11:56 PM
Come-on Zo, you can do better then that, half of America already feels the same way. Americans need to start yesterday, take America back. It’s not about what someone else can do,but what each of us can do.
I will not congratulate a man who lied and cheated his way into office. Acorn & MSM won this election.
christene on November 7, 2008 at 12:00 AM
I hate to break this to you folks… but if you write a decent script (or have someone else write it for you) and memorize it, practice in front of the mirror, wear some diggity clothes, and use a bit of flair, you can be a Zo too.
Hop to it folks!

Found him a while back and have found him to be a true voice for the conservatives.
You tell ‘em Zo!

Somehow I don’t believe that a graying white male in his 40s like myself would have quite the same impact on the hiphop generation as a 20-something black dude. But thanks for the suggestion.

Why was this video pulled? It is no longer available.
kurtzz3 on November 7, 2008 at 2:09 AM
The delivery message is spot on. McCain is totally uninspiring. Don’t get me wrong…he’s a good man and I voted for him, but mostly because of Palin. Zo is totally right about McCain picking Palin because he knows a conservative when he sees one. For the 90% of voters out there who get their news from 30 second sound bites and SNL, why follow McCain when the other guy is fresh and can spend 30 minutes saying nothing and making you feel good? The biggest problem the GOP has is that after one is elected, the others in the race won’t toe the line. I was sure that HRC and Bubba would try to sabotage Obama, but they toed the line. They circle the wagons around William Jefferson D-LA, then use Mark Folley as an example of the culture of corruption. Sheesh…will my party finally, finally take the gloves off!!!???

raaaaaaacist!
*grumble* buncha young hip rich black youngsters always keeping the old gray fat boring white man down…
sulla on November 7, 2008 at 3:11 AM
I like this guy. I want to see more people like him out there fired up for conservatism versus the fatalism that is the liberal mindset.
Don’t close your mouths for a minute fellow conservatives, ESPECIALLY when obama screws up. Then it’s time for artful “I told ya so’s” without sounding like you’re gloating, more like you’re inviting them to rethink the idiotic set of socialist, welfare wannabee ideals that put obama in the white house in the first place.
Spiritk9 on November 7, 2008 at 4:22 AM
Doesn’t he know Obama already beat Keyes ?
Their debates weren’t pretty. Check youtube when the question came up about gay marriage and they basically said the same thing, Keyes worked himself into a semantic tizzy. He missed an opportunity to exploit an issue that bugs the hell out of Obama supporters, but instead he was too busy trying to prove they didn’t agree on anything.
Obamalama Deprogrammer on November 7, 2008 at 5:13 AM
Fox News is just as chickenshit in a lot of ways as the MSM. Same way Little Green Footballs gets all bitchy and whiny from time to time.
thareb on November 7, 2008 at 6:03 AM
This guy is a genius. I agree with him on the Huckabee issue. I think if most of us voted for the Huckster like I did in the primaries, this post-election environment would be a lot different. FAIRTAX BABY!
RightXBrigade on November 7, 2008 at 7:22 AM
You will note that Zo acknowledged that Keyes’ weakness was his approach.
fossten on November 7, 2008 at 7:42 AM
Keys lost to Obama for the Senate race because he was thrust into the postion at the very last minute after Obama had Jack Ryan’s private divorce papers made public. He had no organization, very little face time, very little money… if you want to criticise Keys, attack him on the judgment of accepting to Republican nomination when he should have know that he had no chance.
Give the man some money, organization and face/press time, and he could be a contender for national office.
However, he’s a little too religious for me, but I would still vote for him.
lionheart on November 7, 2008 at 8:20 AM
Zo for PREZ!!
This guy has more credentials than Obama to be president. First and foremost, not being an Alinskyite.
Seriously though, I want Gingrich in 2012 with Jindal as the running mate.

Can I be in charge of the Torches and Pitchforks Committee??
TugboatPhil on November 7, 2008 at 12:54 PM
Sure, as long as you bring the matches.
Now, Can I get someone to chair the Hot Tar Committee? And we are going to need someone with access to a lot of feathers. Any ‘chicken farmers’ out there? (Preferably non-Tyson subsidiary, independent ones… I’m still boycotting Tyson)
LegendHasIt on November 7, 2008 at 5:27 PM
Dunno, I think I recall hearing something about…
pardoning Wayne Dumond (among others),
suggesting AIDS sufferers should be quarantined (early on in the controversy),
attending an outreach rally in Salt Lake aiming to convert Mormons (as many denominations do),
raising taxes (a few times, I think),
taking gifts (legally),
and a few other things here and there, many of them leaked on Drudge (who was in the tank for Romney) with pictures of a pre-diet Huck in striped shirt with large sons in equally embarrassing clothing.
Not to be contrary, but I think Huck was pretty thoroughly vetted.
And I voted for him, and would do so again. Huckabee rage was an ugly thing during the primary. He genuinuely appealed to a lot of people who could be brought to vote for Republicans for the first time ever.
As I listed above, there are plenty of negatives there and good reasons to be opposed to them. Instead, most of what I heard was what a hick and huckster he was and that he wanted to turn the party to Christian Socialism (this from the backers of a man who implemented universal healthcare in his state, bankrupting it in the process.)
Hicks make up a huge part of the GOP base, and Huck can appeal to them very well. I also think he had chances of outreach with female voters. All I heard from many (though not all) of Huckabee’s critics is that he represented too much focus on the social issues, though that is what drives the GOP base. Pro-lifers make up hopelessly lop-sided majorities of the GOP’s GOTV operations, and all the George Wills and Kathleen Parkers of the world want to do is jettison them, with no other strategy.
Go back and watch some Huck videos on YouTube and tell me he wouldn’t have better communicated the GOP platform than McLame.
