Fox News can’t carve out half an hour from its mid-day lineup for this guy? Seriously?
On second thought, we’ve got enough Huckabee fans on FNC already. Like Mike Huckabee.

I think he should spend some time painting that yellow wall he always stands in front of.

Won’t happen, the reason. The show would be to intelligent for the channel.
Lance Murdock on November 6, 2008 at 5:36 PM
I don’t want to “talk about race”, but i was amazed at the CNN exit polls based on race — I think Obama carried black WOMEN 99-1.
Think about that. 99%. You couldn’t get 99% of whites to agree that the grass is green or the sky is blue (I’m talking to you, ‘truthers’!)
‘Content of his character’ my foot. So much for MLK’s dream…….
battleoflepanto1571 on November 6, 2008 at 5:36 PM
He is awesome. He needs his own show or run for Senate or Congress.
Maybe he can be RNC chairman.
Zo is right. We need a true conservative who can articulate the principles of the party.
jencab on November 6, 2008 at 5:37 PM
I like this guy and his schtick.
His spark & enthusiasm coupled with a hard core conservative message is refreshing…
but… seven, eight, nine minutes of his mania is simply too much.
He needs a script/production editor.
60-90 seconds, and this kid is golden.
locomotivebreath1901 on November 6, 2008 at 5:38 PM
He would be much better than Joe the Plumber.

Huckabee? He’s more big government than Bush is.

I think I was one of the 7 people that actually watched Keyes show on MSNBC 6 years ago.
And I watch Huckabee every week.
Hmmmmmm.
dugan on November 6, 2008 at 5:41 PM
God help me when I say Huckabee would have been a better candidate. Granted, he IS a SOFT conservative, but he would have been more conservative than McCain.
I think I threw up a little in my mouth.

Alan Keyes????

The media hasn’t destroyed him yet???
Oh wait, they got Barack elected already…no need…

Love the “Zo”
My best friend and I are the 1%, lol. Come to think of it I do know at least one other black female who voted for McCain so that’s 3. Oh, and Baldi=4.

Zo, no, not Huckabee!
abinitioadinfinitum on November 6, 2008 at 5:43 PM
I liked this guy ever since I saw his last video on why he was voting for McCain. He should at the very least have his own radio show.
Sir Corky on November 6, 2008 at 5:43 PM
I love this guy.
As to Alan Keyes, I really like Alan Keyes, too, but he tends to go totally ballistic whenever the talk comes around to abortion. I think that’s what Zo was talking about.
Very good stuff. He has a nice way of describing American ideals. You go, Zo!
progressoverpeace on November 6, 2008 at 5:43 PM
Zo thinks strategically and like a Coach or General. I like that alot.
If he made a splash on National Scene, the Left would treat him worse than they did Joe the Plumber. I’d fear for his life honestly.
jp on November 6, 2008 at 5:44 PM
Also, can you imagine the social pressure TO vote for Obama? Remember Michael Steele running for the senate in maryland, and he was pelted with oreos? Or how Colin & Condi are “House N$%%%%ers” to the harry belafontes of the world. Or Whoopi “mainstream host of ‘the view’” Goldberg saying that there aren’t any black supreme court justices (oh wait! he’s black??? I FORGOT!). Cue Obama singling out Clarence Thomas as the one justice he wouldnt’ vote for.
How did this happen??? I’m from Arkansas, and the republican carpetbagger WinRockefeller registered thousands of blacks and won on the votes of Blacks… this was years after the so called “JFK writes MLK in jail while nixon does nothing”. It was southern DEMOCRATS who stymied civil rights, it was Boston DEMOCRATS who attacked black people with american flags of busing riots.
And yet somehow the republican party is toxic to black voters.
I’m cramming my brain to think of actual, legitimate, “RACIST” things that Nixon-Ford-Reagan-Bush-Dole-Bush actaully did. Reagan started his campaign in Philadelphia, MS, but other than that boneheaded move, I wouldn’t call it ‘racist’. Nixon won over the south based on law-and-order, but, contrary to Chris Matthews, wanting tougher crime laws is not inherently “racist”, nor is the “southern strategy” any more racist than the “50 state strategy”.
Any takers? When did this happen?
I honestly think we have to just assume we’ll have 12% against us in approval ratings & prez elections every time… there’s just no way to break the hold.
Anecdote time: in Arkansas in 2000, al gore sent around buses to the black churches to take people to the polls, and I swear to you that the announcement for the buses included some line like “Bush wants to bring black slavery!”. About that same time i saw on tv some kid in south carolina (a black kid, maybe 7 years old) made news at his elementary because Bush had won the election and he was hysterically screaming & crying “Now Mommy & Daddy have to be put in chains! I don’t want to be anybody’s slave!”
Now who the @$%@ told him that. He didnt just think that on his own.
All the while, you have the igorant puff daddy’s and ‘respectable’ CNN DL Hughley perpetuating the notion that republicans are eeeeeeeeeeevil racists.
Heck, even the jerry falwells never said anything racist. Anti-gay? sure! but not anti-black.
What am i missing here??!?!?
battleoflepanto1571 on November 6, 2008 at 5:45 PM
He’s right on target and one should respect his train of thought.
We need to ignore the drive-bye media and stand for God and Country before we find ourselves standing on a place you wouldn’t be able to distinguish from any other!
Let’s get off the “Race Train” we’re all Americans, save those who want to undermine us from within! You know who you are!

As I said on another thread where this was posted:
Zo needs to run for office! The Republican Party needs new blood. He would draw lots of young people and minorities.
The FOX idea is great too, but short of that why not give him a permanent spot here at Hot Air?
Disturb the Universe on November 6, 2008 at 5:46 PM
VERY good point. many stayed at home.
and as usual (no sexism intended, happens every time a ‘young’ candidate runs), the younger attractive male gets a better-than-expected share of women votes. (just as palin rated 15+ points higher with men than women)
battleoflepanto1571 on November 6, 2008 at 5:46 PM
He proves, like Palin proved, it is how you relate to people. His personality sticks, and he may have been right about Huck (I did not like Huck), he may have been the best to do verbal combat with Obama.
right2bright on November 6, 2008 at 5:47 PM
Alan Keyes is a raving lunatic but otherwise he’s right that the McCain ticket was at a tremendous disadvantage in terms of eloquence. If Bush had any ability to make an articulate, persuasive argument, his numbers might not be what they are now. It’s also the reason that Sarah Palin will never serve in federal office. I think everyone is tired of feeling embarrassed by the the inability of their leaders to sound like they have more than an 8th grade education.

Quote. Of. The. Day.
Off topic: did you know alan keyes is one of the only people in the history of america to win those high school competitions, President of Boys Nation (where Bill Clinton shook hands with JFK) and the winner of the American Legion SPeaking Contest?
Keyes has gone off the deep end in terms of fundamentalism, but he still is a great speaker.
battleoflepanto1571 on November 6, 2008 at 5:50 PM
Serious question. How many non-Christian votes would that ticket attract, one the past of each was known?
7? 8?
battleoflepanto1571 on November 6, 2008 at 5:51 PM
I think Joe is just as good, in a different style. I have been impressed with Joe every time I’ve seen him. Joe Wurzelbacher also describes the foundations of America very well, if it’s not as much fun as Zo’s. Zo and Joe are both excellent and both could serve well to instill the ideals of America in so many of our citizens who have never learned.
It’s all about foundations.

I was not impressed with the GOP lot during the primary season. In hindsight, I think the only true conservative was Ron Paul and, at the time, he rubbed me the wrong way. Watching him during the primary, he gave the sense that he believed the United States brought 9/11 on itself.

Guys, we blew it. We allowed the talk radio host to divide us since they had their candidates the wanted to promote. There were Romney people, Guliani people, Fred people and all of them tore down the Huckabee people, when really Huckabee was a good guy with a great conservative record. Of course nobody was squeaky clean during the primaries; but somehow Huckabee was held to a different standard. That is why we have President-Elect Obama. We should have lifed up the best candidate, instead, we ended up with John McCain.

Speaking of aftermaths -
Is this a preview of things to come in the Obama – Biden Administration, where you either don’t get paid at all or you are owed $480 and only given $230?:
Indianapolis – Lines were long and tempers flared Wednesday not to vote but to get paid for canvassing for Barack Obama. Several hundred people are still waiting to get their pay for last-minute campaigning. Police were called to the Obama campaign office on North Meridian Street downtown to control the crowd. The line was long and the crowd was angry at times.
A former spokesman for the Obama campaign said 375 people were hired as part of the Vote Corps program and said people signed up to work three-hour shifts at a time. Three hours of canvassing got workers a $30 pre-paid Visa card. The workers showed up to get their cards Wednesday morning at 10:00 am.
“There was a note on the door saying 1:00 pm and then at 1:20 pm everybody was like why is nobody here. They just got here and they’re trying to get it organized,” said Heather Richards, a former campaign worker.
Eventually people did start getting paid, but some said they were missing hours and told to fill in paperwork making their claim and that eventually they would get a check in the mail. “Still that’s not right. I’m disappointed. I’m glad for the president, but I’m disappointed in this system,” said Diane Jefferson, temporary campaign worker. “It should have been $480. It’s $230,” said Imani Sankofa.
“They gave us $10 an hour. So we added it. I added up all the hours so it was supposed to be at least $120. All I get is $90,” said Charles Martin. “I worked nine hours a day for 4 days and got paid half of what I should have earned,” said Randall Waldon.
“I want my money today! It’s my money. I want it right now!” yelled one former campaign worker.
Yea, “No Justice, No Peace!, No Justice, No Peace!”
So much for being a part of history, huh? That took all of one day!!

I’d love to help ya but I don’t understand it myself. How I can be called a racist for wanting laws to be followed, demanding people work to earn a living and holding people responsible for their actions I will never understand and no longer care. I will continue to live my life based on Christian Conservative values and if that makes me a racist in someone’s eyes so be it. It is their loss not mine. If they want to be a victim then they will be.

Yeah, that Huckabee stuff is the first time I’ve disagreed with anything significant on one of ‘Zo’s videos. And Alan Keys to an extent. The OLD Keyes, Heck yeah!, but he went a little ‘odd’ after the Illinois debacle.
That said; As far as I’m concerned ‘Zo and Joe The Plumber were the best communicators and deivery system of conservative values this election cycle.
If they don’t want to run for office, they both ought to get a “bigger pulpit to preach from’.
FOX has turned wholly to the dark side…. I think Hannity will get the boot there soon. Might as well write them off as a place where Conservatives get a fair shake.

Zo’s point about the need for an effective communicator is made with laser-sighted accuracy. We need conservatives who can distill the message and present it effectively.
We need to be cultivating candidates in local elections, the more local the better. This is a process, not a middle of September “Hail Mary” vice-prez pick.

Its absolutely essential that we get a person that communicates effectively . And who is also not afraid to communicate effectively.
Why did McCain take Wright off the table?
Why did he not communicate that if obama is such a great leader, why is chicago such a mess?
I don’t want JUST an good communicator, I want someone who isnt afraid of the message.

For those thinking Palin can’t do it, listen to that interview from July 2007. I think it will change your minds. I have it at my blog and I’m sure others do by now as well. Yes, she has to overcome what has been established about her by way of lies and spin but it’s possible.
