You act as though we were just introduced to this man yesterday.

The problem is, we have spent the last year learning about him. You say, “Nothing’s happened yet”.

Perhaps you missed the Truth Squads that the governor of Missouri had to come out against. Obama’s GOTV organization, ACORN, distorting and confusing the voting process. The attack, using government resources, on a private citizen. The complete disregard for campaign fundraising laws. The motley crew of characters that have surrounded Obama his entire life.

Clearly, you want to take an optimistic view – and as foolish as I personally believe it is to trust this man, I acknowledge that is your right. What I don’t understand is how you can sit there and say that nothing has happened yet. A lot has happened. Too damned much for my taste.

I haven’t read the earlier comments on this thread so I don’t know if there has been a lot of hyperbolic doom and gloom, but speaking for myself I am very anxious about what lengths Obama, his administration, and especially his followers will go to to crush dissent in this country. We have just witnessed an election cycle in which loyal, mainstream Democrats were harassed, ridiculed, and disenfranchised for supporting Obama’s opponent (Hillary)… followed by some of the clearest cases of election fraud and malfeseance any first-world country has ever had (ACORN, illegal campaign contributions, “truth squads”).

When I look ahead to an Obama presidency, all I can picture are two thugs, standing at a Philadelphia polling place wearing Black Panther regalia and wielding billy clubs.

Sorry, I don’t trust that Obama is suddenly going to become a moderate or centrist in how he governs, nor do I believe he will abandon the strong-arm tactics that just won him the White House. And, I certainly don’t trust his supporters. I’m glad that 53% of the country has “hope,” at least someone does. Personally, my hope is gone.

This country is going to go through some radical changes. I really wonder how many people in that age group had the slightest idea that this was the plan when they voted for this guy.

Time to find out if raising taxes and increasing the costs of energy, transportation and food can end a recession.

Nobody has every had the guts to try raising the costs of everything while in a recession to see if somehow higher costs will result in a stronger economy. Maybe higher costs on everything will result in stronger businesses, better bottom lines, higher worker’s pay and benefits, and higher profits all around.

Can we try this incomprehensible economic policy now?

However, I do have to agree with Eagelberger (sp?).

Those that voted for him have elected a con man.

One of the key reasons (although not the only one) why Obama won was because the left was organized and motivated, far more than we on the conservative side were. We can learn a lesson from that. We must learn a lesson from that.

Contribute cash, start blogging, get out there and educate your family members and neighbors who may be political fence-sitters. Don’t just get scared or angry, get motivated.

They were saying that they thought the Democratic party is the party to vote for because they stand for democracy and the Republicans have a silly name.

I got the stupid look when I said that this was a Republic, so I just gave up.

I’m so ashamed of how stupid some people have become.

And I’m willing to bet that they will still blame Bush and the Repubs.

Unfortunately, President Above My Paygrade-elect and a Dem- controlled Congress can still do a lot of damage – in spite of the Clinton-esque appointments. Amnesty 2.0 with no borders, Supreme Court appts, skyrocketing interest rates, corporate tax hikes and interference, abandoning Iraq and Afghanistan, reduced militray (Clinton 2.0), I could go on… it’s gonna get messy, IMO.

And the sad part is the 50% that voted for this change will find that in four years they won’t be any better off than they are now. They will probably be worse. And I’m willing to bet that they will still blame Bush and the Repubs.

The real fight’s in Congress. Those (along with the RINOs in our own party) are the ones we should be taking the fight to.

I have a feeling that El Presidente Obama will be as useless as tits on a bull.

I have to agree. Although I love that article (and all Iowa Hawk’s stuff), I really want to guard against ODS (Obama Derangement Syndrome).

I am honestly hoping that the worst we’re going to see here is a rehash of Carter. And that the best we’ll see is a rehash of Clinton if the republican party can resurrect a sane platform before 2010.

So far it seems he’s looking at Clinton-esque staff, so I have no reason to believe Bill Ayers will be appointed secretary of Education :-)

That said, I’m going to enjoy watching Obama supporting conservatives squirm when the honeymoon is over.

By virtue of being a christian, many of us will perpetually be labelled as suffering from paranoid delusions. We aren’t calling for mass chaos or beheadings like the fundamental islamic community would be in an analagous situation. So cheer up.

Instead of worrying about it, I would recommend examining the text that makes us believe these things. It would be more productive and informative.
