Video: What we need is a commander-in-chief who’ll “give the country a hug”

Via BMI, I was expecting uplift and transcendence — and all I get is this?

The One’s ability to lower expectations is formidable indeed, my friends.

Lets not forget Iran, Venezuela, NK, et al are thinking how easy pickens the US will be under an Obambi administration. While Obambi is hugging and talking our enemies are plotting our demise…it’s scary folks!

I sent an e-mail to all my friends this morning expressing my confusion and outright bewilderment at Obama winning:

While this rant may sound like sour grapes to some of you because I supported McCain, you’re welcome to your opinion (at least until January anyway) but the point I’m attempting to make here is America has just elected the most inexperienced president ever, especially in the foreign affairs arena at a time when we need someone that is strong in foreign affairs.

Obama has already stated he will cut the military and defense budgets and scrap some of the current anti-ballistic defense systems all at a time of heightened aggression from Russia and Iran on the verge of having a nuclear weapon! As French President Sarkozy stated; Obama’s foreign affairs views are immature and naive.

Add to this Obama’s running mate Biden declared, Obama will be tested by our enemies early in his presidency. While Obama does not take the oath of office until January some of our enemies are already looking to manipulate him and test his resolve. Prior to the elections I tried to get people to understand what was at stake with an Obama presidency and invoking Maslow’s hierarchy of needs which states survival needs always come first, fairly logical I’d say, yet many American people made the economy a more important issue in this election.

While the economy is important it is meaningless if we do not protect ourselves from those that want to destroy us, again, survival needs come first yet it seems people were blinded by Obama’s charisma.

Apparently those that voted in support of Obama yesterday thought it was to choose the next “American Idol” not the next president, and in the difficult times we face as a nation what we needed was an experienced leader not a pop icon or celebrity. Also, if the professors in our institutions of higher learning would have spent more time teaching critical thinking techniques (such as Maslow’s hierarchy of needs) instead of indoctrinating their students to embrace socialism then perhaps more people could have made the survival needs distinction and made a more informed and logical choice for president.

As much as I don’t like admitting the French are ever right about anything, but for those that voted for Obama yesterday the French were right about you, Americans are fat and stupid!

I agree with everything but the Israel ceasing to exist thing. Unless the enemies of Israel kill every last Jew in the country, it ain’t gonna happen. Israelis (for all their stuff) will fight to the DEATH – they learned a harsh lesson from the Holocaust. They will probably nuke a few countries though….

ShenronEX on November 5, 2008 at 6:57 PM

Oh for the love of all that is good and right and not pussified in this world.

A hug?

Americans, especially the ones that voted for Obama (sweeping generalization of the day) are the whiniest, wimpiest, most ill-equipped for life human beings on the face of the earth. They can barely take a dump without help — the last thing this country needs is a hug. This country needs an ass kicking is what it needs.

And really, we need to stop worrying about the what the rest of the socialist world thinks of us.

Who can take an election win, sprinkle it with dew
Cover it with choc’late and a miracle or two
The Obama Man, oh the Obama Man can
The Obama Man can ’cause he mixes it with hugs and love and makes the whole thing taste good

Who can get in step with Congress, wrap it all in a sigh
Soak it in the sun and make a groovy economic pie
The Obama Man, the Obama Man can
The Obama Man can ’cause he mixes it with love and hugs and makes the whole thing taste good

The Obama Man makes everything he does satisfying and delicious
Now you talk about your childhood wishes, you can even eat his best wishes

Oh, who can take tomorrow, dip it in a dream
Separate the sorrow and collect up all the cream
The Obama Man, oh the Obama Man can
The Obama Man can ’cause he mixes it with hugs and love and makes the whole thing taste good

These are the same people that think flashing the peace sign and making clever bumper stickers has saved us from the jihadist. That’s why they think it is smart to make major defensed cuts during a time of war.

I give these idiots about 6 months of leeway with their continuation of “it’s Bush’s fault” before America actually wakes up and sees that they have never offered any real solutions and their actions never back up their rhetoric.

Where’s my check
——
Where’s my free health care
——-
What happened to my tax cuts-250,000 to 200,000 to 150,000
to 120,000 and the line of being “rich” will just keep dropping.
——-
Why are terrorist still attacking innocent people,Obama is
President now.
———
Why am I still having to pay my mortgage, buy gas,and pay for food,Obama said he would take care of me.
———
Where’s the revolution that Obama promised his friends in San Francisco and his buddies Ayers,Rev. Wright,Code Pink,World can’t wait,Black Panthers,Farrakhan and many other “mainstream friends”.
———

Oh yeah, there is going to be a lot of people wandering around looking up at the sky and asking
“Where’s my hope and change”.

Obama’s Campaign Promises Could Become a Burden in His Presidency
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/11/05/president-obama-promises/
Barack Obama made a number of promises on the campaign trail that will be hard to keep as he inherits a troubled economy and two conflicts abroad.

He added that he still plans to push for his promised tax cuts for the middle class. But during the last weeks of the campaign, confusion swirled over how Obama defines the middle class. Joe Biden pegged the middle class as people making under $150,000 a year, and Bill Richardson cited those making under $120,000. Both figures are lower than the $250,000 Obama had set as the threshold for a tax increase.

“His notion about what he will do in Iraq, his notion about what he will do in terms of fiscal policy for this country will have to be translated into real live policy, and that will be a challenge,” Glenn said.

And this right here is just pure gold:

Political analyst and FOX News contributor Juan Williams said Obama’s biggest critics will come from the party’s left wing, because he won’t be able to fulfill all of his promises.

“Barack Obama realizes if he does anything precipitous with regard to American military forces in a place like Iraq and puts anybody in danger or in some way allows terrorists to make some gains, he will suffer a tremendous backlash that could be political damaging to him to the point that he never recovers,” Williams said.

This quote from the financial story regarding how wall street views Obama sums up what Republicans have said about
him during this whole campaign:

Stocks plunge anew as recession worries resurface
Wednesday November 5, 6:29 pm ET
By Sara Lepro and Tim Paradis, AP Business Writer
Wall Street falls sharply as investors, worrying about recess, ponder Obama impact on economy

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/081105/wall_street.htm

“The celebration is over. Today we saw a bit of reality,” said Al Goldman, chief market strategist at Wachovia Securities in St. Louis. “President-elect Obama is coming into a situation with limited experience, having to handle an economy in serious trouble, a couple of wars and terrorism. It’s an extremely tough job.”

Not much most of us can do. You can only withdraw the money you put into the account. Any company match can’t be withdrawn. You would have to quit or get fired to withdraw it all. I’m hoping my employer will allow to quit for a day so I can cash it out if the worst happens.

I must say, I’m loving the blogs, especially today, because we still got it!! We are going to make Obomber’s life miserable for the next 4 years. I’m venting my frustrations on these blogs and I’m beginng to feel alittle spunkier and getting a spring back in my step, knowing that there’s a fight ahead to get this country back on course!!!

Lynken on November 5, 2008 at 7:06 PM

Imagine if you had risked your life fighting for the freedom of Iraqis during the past 5.5 years. Imagine if you had been maimed during your service or if you have had lost a loved who had made the ultimate sacrifice for his or her country and people in a faraway land.

While you did this your countrymen went about their daily lives without being significantly impacted by your sacrifice. Large numbers of your countrymen were not with you at the outset. As time passed even larger numbers failed to support your mission or even take note of your triumphs.

Now, 5 1/2 years later with Iraq nearly pacified and with the end result clearly in sight- if the mission continues, you awaken to the reality that the objective of the new commander-in-chief is not to finish the job, but to end the war (for America, but alas, not for Iraqis).

How do you not ask yourself, what was the point of all this sacrifice if the progress I have wrought can be so easily risked. And why should I continue to sacrifice my body and risk my life for an ungrateful nation that thinks war is a partisan toy?

Without question, Barack Obama will be a transformational President. Change that will make you retch.

I noticed many college graduates joining from UNC,NCSU,A&T,

Not a bad attitude from anybody I met, ready to serve.

I asked specifically to be able to go to Iraq/Afghanistan
and was worried about an Obama Presidency possibly keeping many more rotations heading to Iraq.

Everyone (Military and contractors)assured me that we would
