Michelle Bachman is great. I gave to her campaign the idiots at NRCC pulled their $.

I will not give to the NRCC EVER - only to specific candidates. They clearly are clueless. Unfortunately some good conservatives lost - we need to take back the party from its McCain RINOs.

I still dont know anyone who voted for McCain in the primaries...or who at least admits it.

NC is crazy - it is all those people that moved down from the northeast and left their brains behind. We got a do-nothing governor, added a leftist senator and kept corrupt representatives. Wish Bachman was my rep. Well done Minnesota.

She can run for the open seat and she’ll win handily. C’mon, don’t tell me she’s better off remaining as governor if she wants to make a serious run at the GOP nomination in 4 years.

Doughboy on November 5, 2008 at 9:45 AM

I'm telling you that she would be much better off as governor: a chief executive who actually does things rather than a legislator.

Check your history: only a very few Senators have ever been elected President (and they usually make poor Presidents). Most presidents are former governors.

OK, The election was largely bought by questionable DNC money. Main stream media is, and has been in the tank for Obama & has trashed McCain and the GOP. Acorn may not have been a factor but the idea of stealing an election is disgusting, whether it is on the right or left. With all that said, it is time to move on and rebuild the alternative to left-wing politics and show why our values are better for everyone that wants to fulfill the American Dream of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. We spent far too much time attacking our opponents and not enough time on what we intend to do if our candidates are elected. We will need to let the Democratically controlled Congress and Presidency know our displeasure of any and all radical-left-leaning actions on there part. We will also need to do it in a way that makes us appear like an intelligent, responsible citizen that are expressing our views and concerns, so they wont be able to marginalize our concerns by thinking we are a bunch of ideologs. We will need to rebuild and re-educate our base and find a way to include minority voters in our dream. We will need to do all of our infighting during the Primaries, and once they are over, we will need to circle the wagons around our choice of candidates, just like the Democrats have done, so we will not errode our chances of winning; it was not the most winning strategy, what the Republicans did in criticising their own candidates during this election cycle. If we do all these things, and, the Democrats fail to deliver on their promises we will have a turn-around in 2010 similar what we had in 1994. Dean & Pelosi said "Give us a chance for the next two years." We will be watching.

On the upside, people will now see what liberals do when in power since they obviously don’t believe when told. In the long run the taste of socialism could be enough to turn a couple of generations back to the center.

NEVER in the History of the Republican Party have we lost double digits for the House of Represdentatives in two consecutive election cycles.

This was a disaster. This was a disaster of biblical proportions.

All of the ones who voted for the bailout went down to defeat. Anyone taking notice of that?

As long as we can still raise our heads, we are fine.
Don't hang your heads, Conservatives.
But you Rinos-you keep your heads down in shame.
I kept up the drumbeat through this election: "McCain is too Liberal for me."
When he became the nominee, like many of us I grudgingly agreed to vote for him. I saw flashes of Conservative principles, which gave me a little hope. But in the end...
McCain was too Liberal.

Sarah needs to speak soon before McCain’s cronies go after her.

Sarah is going to have to take care of herself. That's the way of the world,, and,, I am sure she will be more than up to it. That is the kind of leader we are looking for anyway. We can no longer be smarter than the next Republican candidate.
The leadership of the New Republican Party is going to be speaking and saying the kind of things we wished we had thought of. I am tired of it being the other way around!
The ocean is full, now, of blood and sharks. Whoever steps in will have to be able. We are surrounded on every side,, I say "Charge!"

I get knocked down
    But I get up again
    You’re never going to
    Keep me down

Going to use that as anthem in the days to come!

That, my friend, is the way it always is! That is where it's always at! How to keep pursuing,, keep going,, keep moving forward.
Our problem has been (I use past tense) to quit or bend over as soon as the name calling begins! Our forefathers were called a name,,, Yankee Doodle Dandy,,, sounds comical now. Not much of an insult at all. They turned it into a song and sang that song as they marched into war against the name callers! That is always the true American spirit! it will take no less courage to save this nation!!
Their spirit and blood runs in our veins still,, it just needs to be awakened!
Obama cried out to the black race in one of his books,, it went something like "arise black race,, arise to what is yours" or some such dribble.
It does not take a majority to change the future of America. It only takes a determined people. And we are it.

I'm exceedingly disappointed right now, but "tomorrow is another day." The GOP staved off the filibuster proof Senate and that is what I am holding on to today. Bachmann winning, Coleman winning, a county close to us passed a resolution to sell beer and wine.... It's not a great day, but we aren't done unless we say we are. So get the crying and temper tantrums out (me, last night) and let's get to work. We have a great future ahead of us with some wonderful young Republicans (like the list above) and we need to start fighting for and with them now to get our country back. Buck up troopers, stay sharp, and let's roll.

Bachman would be an excellent VP for Jindal. I hope 2012 is Jindal vs Palin in a friendly race designed to pick the one who can best run vs Comrade Obama or Lady Hillary if Obama does as badly as I expect.

***

And please - no mention of Jeb Bush. Nice guy but lets the silver lining of thos year be that we are rid of the RINO Bushes and the RINO McCain.

I like Bachmann--a lot. But her delivery is too slow, and I'm not sure that she thinks well on her feet even though her background is as a tax litigator. I don't see her as more than a rep, senator, or cabinet member.

I like Jeb Bush, but he's sadly radioactive. He's married to a Hispanic woman, and he was very popular among Hispanics as governor of Florida. Maybe I shouldn't be, but I'm stunned that the GOP got crushed by Hispanic voters. The GOP needs to chip away at black conservatives and the black middle class, but I'd think Hispanics would be a far easier group to reach.
