According to Wikipedia:

“A 2003 study by Jeffrey Record for the US Army quoted a source (Schmid and Jongman 1988) that counted 109 definitions of terrorism that covered a total of 22 different definitional elements.”

Also:

“Terrorism expert Walter Laqueur also has counted over 100 definitions and concludes that the ‘only general characteristic generally agreed upon is that terrorism involves violence and the threat of violence.”

USA’s Definition:

In Section 2331 of Chapter 113b, terrorism is defined as:

“…activities that involve violent… or life-threatening acts… that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State and… appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and… (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States… [or]… (C) occur primarily outside the territorial jurisdiction of the United States…”

Personally this is the definition I go by, so to answer your question pm123 based on the above USA definition Ayers is and was a terrorist as his motives for committing violence was political.

No, they are now a the Prairie Underground or something like that as a non-violent group==that is against imperialism, classism, racism, etc. Basically an anti-capitalist organization.
However, there is still Alf, and Elf, those type of “green” groups that advocate violence.
These groups like the Black Liberation, and others come and go as the leaders move on in age. But another organization crops up, always a Marxist, communist supported and embracing organization.

Just two years ago Ayers and Dorhn compiled and published Sing a Battle Song: The Revolutionary Poetry, Statements, and Communiques of the Weather Underground 1970-1974. Doesn’t sound like he’s too anxious to shed the “Weathermen” label. Rather, he’s doing what he can to keep the “brand” alive in the marketplace of ideas.

Well, I live close to downtown Minneapolis, MN and just waited 47 minutes to be able to vote for McCain and Palin and against Al Franken (and it feels really, really good).

If there are any other Minnesotans here, I live around Loring Park(a very beautiful, but very gay and anti-conservative area. Some of the folks are really cool; some aren’t). I was the 901 voter at 12:05pm and I’m sure I will be out-numbered at least 30-1.

We can only hope…
