Video: Joe the Plumber, Rick Sanchez get nasty

Via Ben Smith, an exercise in futility as Sanchez grapples with the riddle of why a blue-collar Joe like Wurzelbacher wouldn’t want to stick his hand in the pocket of the rich and extract cash like it’s an ATM. Answer: “It’s called principles.”
But that’s not the best part. Wait until Sanchez starts airing his dirty laundry. About halfway through, if you’re pressed for time and want to skip ahead.

This whole thing is just so humorous. Watching these big tough gotcha media types out there thinking they scored big by tripping up some plumber.
“Oh yeah,, but this, Joe man,, he endorsed John McCain and he said he doesn’t like Obama!”
HE’S JUST A PLUMBER!!!! IF YOU REALLY WANT TO SHOW YOUR GIRLFRIEND OR BOY FRIENDS HOW TOUGH AND IMPORTANT YOU ARE,, GO AFTER THE GUY RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT!!!

Libs do not understand the concept of ‘rate.’ The public schools have succeeded in making math morons out of half the country.
whitetop on November 4, 2008 at 7:11 PM
According to Rich Sanchez, if someone “PUBLICLY” supports a candidate, their fair game to have their privacy invaded by government workers on behave of the press trying to find dirt on them to be used in a political campaign?
Really? So why hasn’t Mr. Sanchez invaded anyone else’s privacy?
I’m sure he has seen cars with bumper stickers supporting Obama, why has he not reported their income/tax/medical situation?
Or is Mr Sanchez just another “IN THE TANK” corrupt “reporter” for Obama/CNN?
Sanchez, the other night reported Joe ALSO lived in ALASKA for 4 years.
Sanchez left out the part of Joe being STATIONED in Alaska for 4 years while Serving in the United States Air Force. Hum, I wonder why?
Is Sanchez really this incompetent?
Has Sanchez done any stories on the over the top invasion of Joe’s privacy for simply asking a public servant a question?
No? imagine that,

crr6 on November 4, 2008 at 6:02 PM
The real question crr6, since you are now on a public blog, could you do us a favor and give us your personal information so we can air your dirty laundry? And how much is the Obama campaign paying for your services?
Conservative Voice on November 4, 2008 at 7:17 PM
Sanchez tells him, “You are no longer just Joe the private person — you have thrust yourself into this campaign. You have to be asked the tough questions.”
So can we say that Mr. Sanchez is no longer a private person and has to be asked tough questions?
Okay Ill play
Mr. Sanchez do you STILL beat your boyfriend?
DSchoen on November 4, 2008 at 7:18 PM
Oh my gosh! What a JERK!
Joe is right – how is it fair that some people don’t pay any income taxes?
angelat0763 on November 4, 2008 at 7:22 PM
Sooooo…. according to CNN, if you get up on a stage and campaign for a candidate, your life is then an open book?
Can’t wait to see CNN vetting Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey.
But I ain’t holding my breath.

An attempt to shame these journalists will fail, because people like Sanchez have no shame. A man that smug and ignorant is incapable of correction.
Sanchez has to be dealt with in other ways. You have to fight fire with fire.
For instance, every time Allah posts about him in the future, he should reference Sanchez’s DUI and killing of a pedestrian. That way, the meme becomes Sanchez the DUI journalist. He has to be discredited, professionally destroyed, and run out of town.
There’s no reason why we should play by the rules in the Tyranny of Nice that will by the Obama administration. The MSM has to be destroyed. Sanchez is a very easy target.
Sydney Carton on November 4, 2008 at 7:31 PM
YUP ! ! They’ll turn in their own mother to save
Omama. Looks like Sanchez was primed to
bust Joes balls. . . Wonder if Ricks boyfriend
approved. . .
Texyank on November 4, 2008 at 7:33 PM
Rick “Dirty” Sanchez got Pwned!
What an Obama tool!
TexBob on November 4, 2008 at 7:39 PM
How does this guy have the right to announce personal info about Joe Wurzelbacher on air to millions? He seemed to be attacking him on why he even had the RIGHT to ask the question. Apparently the liberal media only believes it is OK to ask tough questions to Republicans. What a toolbag. I do have to hand it to Joe for not hiding in his house the past few weeks and for really getting out there and telling people to do their research and vote.

Talk about an idiot, I don’t think you could qualify that high. Take a hike before your grey matter, if there is any left, gets further scrambled.
Joe sure knows how to shoot from the hip. Wish our politicians had his ethics.
N4646W on November 4, 2008 at 7:52 PM
Sanchez is a complete embarrassment. He doesn’t even begin to register what Joe is saying about principles. He is so biased and down the road he can’t comprehend what Joe is saying that it is not right to pay (through taxation) people who are not working hard, paying no income tax, and making no sacrifices. The bias is palpable. All he can do is mouth off on the Dmocratic talking points and invasion of Joe’s privacy regarding his license or child support. CNN is a sewer and I will never watch it again.
rtrower on November 4, 2008 at 7:54 PM
Take that interviewer outside in the parking lot and JTP will say HE’s fair game.
johnnyU on November 4, 2008 at 7:59 PM
Keep repeating this:
Check Wiki: Sanchez, as a drunk driver, killed a pedestrian.
This should be mentioned every time his name is brought up.
aquaviva on November 4, 2008 at 8:00 PM
Just Imagine if Joe was a Lib and he received this treatment….. Hell the libs go nuts if the right subjects known terrorists to background checks.
Jamson64 on November 4, 2008 at 8:00 PM
Rick Sanchez is an idiot. That makes him perfect to work at CNN or MSNBC.
thekingtut on November 4, 2008 at 8:08 PM
In speaking with “Joe the Plumber”, Rick was either purposefully obtuse, in which case he had an agenda, or he was “not the sharpest tool in the shed”, in which case CNN should send him to the tool shed for sharpening.
Not once did “Joe” indicate he wants people earning + $250K to pay less tax than those earning -$250K. Just this week, the +$250K benchmark has decreased to +$200K and then to +$150K; which is exactly “Joe’s” point.
Even a numbers challenged adult such as me understood that “Joe” is simply in opposition to the current “Progressive” tax system. It doesn’t take strong math skills to recognize that a progressive tax system punishes achievement by making those that earn more pay a higher “percentage” of earnings in tax.
Obtuse or dull; either way does not bode well for CNN’s journalistic caliber.
MsDollie on November 4, 2008 at 8:14 PM
The interviewer was pathetic.
The other day the OECD released a report showing the US to have the most progressive tax system.
davod on November 4, 2008 at 8:26 PM
He is not only an idiot, he seems to think he is smarter than Joe the Plumber. He has no idea what principles represent. Talk about a dummy.
These are our college educated journalists? Is he a journalist? Let’s find out about his income. Let’s find out what he did in school. Joe is so much smarter and has so many more ethics than this dip s.
Bambi on November 4, 2008 at 8:27 PM
I think Joe totally owned this puke. That should be an example of what the elite really think of the middle class. I agree with Joe why not ask obama tough questions. if this bum wins all who voted for him will get the president they deserve, I wonder how ling it will take to start hearing this isnt what I voted for ,im going back to praying for a miracle good night
mucker15 on November 4, 2008 at 9:02 PM
“my friend”. Joe is not a friend of Sanchez.
“Cry me a river man”. Joe wiped the floor with him by turning the tables on him.
You go Joe.
Shai on November 4, 2008 at 9:11 PM
Let me translate this conversation:
Sanchez: “Joe, how could you be such a clueless idiot not to want to vote for a guy that is going to give you other people’s money? Vote for Obama and he’ll take it and give it to you! Who would give a crap about people who make more money? I don’t get it because I certainly don’t! Show me the money!”
Joe: “Because I’m not a crook, Sanchez. If I didn’t earn it, it doesn’t belong to me. And btw, what does not wanting to fund welfare have to do with maintaining our governmental infrastructure? What do roads have to do with bribing voters with checks? Why do you legally want to rip off wealthier individuals? Is it because CNN pays shit? Are you anxiously awaiting your check from me? You’ll never understand people like me because liberals don’t have any values!”
Sanchez: “Idiot! You suck! Obama is the bomb!”
Joe: “Screw you, you clueless, valueless douchebag!”
Did I get it right? :D
GeeWhiz on November 4, 2008 at 9:14 PM
I’m just going to go ahead and self-censor myself, because I have no words for this pile of dog squeeze that will make it past the HotAir censors. (and I’m not talking about Joe)
It can best be summed up this way: !E#%#$%!#$^@%$&^^@#$!$##$%@^&@$@$@$@$@$@$@$@$#$T@#$#%^&*$^*^&(#^%&@$%@^$
There! It’s off my chest.
MsUnderestimated on November 4, 2008 at 9:15 PM
After watching the election returns tonight, I’m feeling sick to my stomach. Now after seeing this video of that irrational, repulsive twat Sanchez abusing an innocent American citizen, I think I may really puke.
Is this the kind of media treatment (it cannot be called journalism) and complete absence of logic that we can expect for the next 4 years?
What is a sane person to do? I’ve lost hope in my fellow man. Atlas is shrugging. We need to organize, leave this dump to the looters and head for Galt’s Gulch.
Poland or Czech Republic are starting to sound pretty good.
UltimateBob on November 4, 2008 at 11:02 PM
Sanchez is a complete smug, clueless, arrogant, a$$hat, douchebag! What a scumbag poser…I like how all these MSM non-journalists are slobbering all over themselves now. God help us all if this is what we are going to see from now on.
zoom119 on November 4, 2008 at 11:11 PM
Rick Sanchez has his own baggage. If you do some research, I believe you will find a DUI in his past.
badger on November 5, 2008 at 2:58 AM
Well we certainly saw the worst of people come out in this. We have 4 years to do something about it.
johnnyU on November 5, 2008 at 4:15 AM
He ‘endorsed’ McCain so therefore his entire history is fair game?
WATCH OUT ANYONE WHO VOTED FOR McCAIN, then.
Reaps on November 5, 2008 at 4:53 AM
What a farce. He got Joe on the show to purposefully discredit him. That little smirk just got bigger all the while with him failing to see how idiotic he himself appeared. Welcome to the new age of journalism. They have to be dancing in the streets, the liberal media.
Glynn on November 5, 2008 at 10:40 AM
I am sure the wonderfully talented (sarcasm mode turned off) Rick Sanchez is making over $250k and will gladly hand over extra money in taxes to his government.
Amazing how Rick delves into Joe the Plumber’s life and turns his liberal cheek to Obama, etc.
Rick must be a hit at all those liberal cocktail parties sucking up to the likes of Keith Olbermann etc.
SmallGovtGuy on November 5, 2008 at 11:42 AM
Man – so anyone who says anything in public is subjected to the scrutiny of CNN? Nice work, clown.
