After taking care of business this morning, I am about to go vote. It is a right and responsibility I do not take lightly. Being a longtime fan of HotAir, it is a priviledge to be able to post here. I can't wait for Michelle to open her registration up again. I am so pumped I can't stand it.
This fight is far from over. Drywall did not succeed on his mission to berate and discourage me. <blockquote>Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the World.</blockquote>
Besides, as my high school latin teacher had on her wall "Illegitimi Non Carborundum".

Figure that one out, Troll of great intellect.

God Bless America! McCain/Palin '08!

that the words bankrupt and skyrocketing prices come out of the mouth of a politician/legislator, when taking about the effects of his energy plan, should give any ignorant masses pause. the words should inspire outrage, if Amis were not medicating away their natural emotional "disorders".
congrats to HA, for breaking the story (sorta). It's why I've chosen to be here.

DryWall,

You little worm. I have been reading your studid A$$ moments for a while. It is people like you keeping me up at night worrying about the fate of our country. Every time I close my eyes all I see is a bunch of lemmings running for the cliff, jumping off with complete abandon. I bet you've already been checking out how to become a green shirt in the Civil National Security Force. Oh, you sound just like the kind of sheeple Big O will be looking for to rat out neighbors and family members for turning their thermostats to low or driving an SUV. You are pathetic.

Alan Colmes is such a little worm... I actually sometimes have a very small sense of sympathathy for the little sickly feller...
Another thing I truly feel(and I hope)is that the huge voter turnout is not exactly what the common belief is that it's a large movement for "CHANGE" BHO is pushing.. Quite the contrary... it's a huge movement against the scary SOB and what he'll bring..

“Bankrupt” and “Skyrocket” need to play non-stop in PA, WV, OH, and CO (and any other Coal producing state). Let Nobama’s own words come back to bite him in the butt.

I wonder if there is buyer’s remorse from those who did the early voting?

Hi Sweetness:
I hope your assessment is of Obama's "Civilian National Security Force" is incorrect. After hearing this force was to be as strong as our military the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.

This didn't sound like the ol' peace corps we know. Appreciate you providing the link.

I'm just wondering why O'Reilly, Ham or Williams couldn't or wouldn't draw that connection?

Cheers

<blockquote>Exactly.

Obama’a “Civilian National Security Force” = Hitler’s “Brownshirt”s. Be afraid, be very afraid.

<blockquote> I wounder why should the “Civilian National Security Force” be as strong as the military , what big enemy is it supposed to suppress?

<em>
One possibility - “Civilian National Security Force” could take on the US Military. Hitler used the military to assassinate the leaders of the SA brownshirts. Night of the Long Knives - 30 June 1934. It’s hard to fathom anything like that happening here. When I first heard Obama speak at the Democratic National Convention in 2004, something ran up my leg - and it was fear not thrill. I knew then he was not to be trusted. O'Reilly talked about what the “Civilian National Security Force” was with Juan Williams and Mary Katharine Ham last night. These three did not know what Obama meant by this.

<blockquote>
On Rywall’s semantic distinction between “bankrupt a coal company” and “bankrupt the coal industry”:

Clean coal is, so far, an unrealized possibility. So while we wait for clean coal to become a reality, Obama (if allowed) will tax the INDUSTRY into bankruptcy.

Dee2008 on November 4, 2008 at 10:13 AM</blockquote>

One wonders how rywall sleeps at night.

If coal plants are too expensive to operate, then utilities stop building them. If fewer coal plants, then fewer orders for coal. If fewer orders, then coal mining companies lay off workers. And so it goes...

New technologies are wonderful things, and we have a bright future because of them; but it takes 35 to 50 years for a new technology to produce a significant percentage of the nation's power, and that's true after the technology is beyond the research stage. DEA says wind power could produce 20% of the nation's electric power by 2030, with proper incentives. That's 50 years after the first pilot wind farms. Nuclear power reached about 20% of the nation's electric power a mere 27 years after the first pilot nuclear plant, but that was after the Manhattan project had generated a knowledge base about nuclear radiation.

Any plan that deliberately raises the price of essential energy based on the promise of some technology on the drawing board is a sure prescription for economic disaster. The reason "we" don't rely on alternatives today is not some conspiracy, nor some failure to invest, but the simple fact that fossil fuels remain by far the cheapest, most readily available means to drive an economy. The nation's businesses are not stupid; they will make the transition <em>as soon as it makes economic sense.</em>

Ms. Coulter makes the point that I can't fathom:

This has been the Democrats' plan for decades. They say out loud that they intend to drive oil, natural gas, and coal prices up in order to create artificial incentives for "renewable" energy sources.

How is it that the American public does not have in its mind "Democrat = drive energy costs through the roof?"

If you ever needed to see evidence of the Republican party's utter failure to differentiate themselves from their opponents, there it is.

There is no need for artificial incentives. When fossil fuels are genuinely scarce, and when alternatives have developed to the point that they're economically sensible, the alternatives will be cheap enough to produce the switch without driving prices through the roof. The reason they haven't already is that there's no real shortage of fossil fuels, and the alternatives simply are not ready.

Obama sees the economy as a stage on which to perform morality plays about "greed" and "sharing."

It blinds him to such things as the long term effects of economic policy. I don't think he even cares.

For instance, raising taxes on big business is just going to result in higher prices for consumers. Taxes are another cost of production and costs are passed onto the consumer, especially when every company is subject to the same increase. We saw this recently when the price of fuel went up - so did the price of virtually everything.

So who's affected most by a rise in consumer prices? First and foremost: the poor, whose weekly budgets are stretched enough as it is. Secondly, small businesses are affected, because when the prices of mass produced essentials rise, people start to rethink their weekly budgets and edge out the kind of goods and services that small businesses typically provide. They generally sell the things that people they can "do without" should the price of groceries rise, etc.

McCain doesn't know a lot about economics but at least he knows enough to figure that you don't raise anybody's taxes during a recession.

Taxes are another cost of production and costs are passed onto the consumer, especially when every company is subject to the same increase. We saw this recently when the price of fuel went up – so did the price of virtually everything.

So who’s affected most by a rise in consumer prices? First and foremost: the poor, whose weekly budgets are stretched enough as it is. Secondly, small businesses are affected, because when the prices of mass produced essentials rise, people start to rethink their weekly budgets and edge out the kind of goods and services that small businesses typically provide. They generally sell the things that people they can “do without” should the price of groceries rise, etc.

McCain doesn’t know a lot about economics but at least he knows enough to figure that you don’t raise anybody’s taxes during a recession.

What Caddell says which is right on is how Obama just throws out terms like "bankrupt" and "skyrocket" without concern for the impact of these terms. Bankruptcy is very painful ask anyone who has gone through it. It is not something that you wish on ANY industry. As far as skyrocketing energy prices, we just went through that with oil this Summer.

Obama talks about all these issues as if he is a young professor with very little world experience. Hmm.

Colmes is such an annoying little weasel. I hate the way he spits out his easily refutable little rebuttals to whatever's being said and then changes the subject immediately in case anyone calls him out on it.

<blockquote>"Well there were Republicans on the same board also, but moving on...."</blockquote>

SHUT UP COLMES!

The tragedy is, Hannity lets him get away with it far too ofter. How many times have you seen Colmes get the last word? Hannity deserves a slap too, for being so lame at debating. He often lets Obamabots get away with the most outrageous bullsh*t about taxes etc, without taking them to task for it.

<strong>The Future of Energy...</strong>

It is a call for punitive measures for energy producers and consumers, in the name of - here in comes - Global Warming, the great shiboleth.

This is why I love Hot Air. You guys are incredible in your ability to find this information and get it out. Hannity was right to give you all the nod.

The Caddell line was hilarious. He is one Democrat who I can always count on to be totally objective.

Coulter's line to Colmes near the end (something to the effect of "if you have enough power to run this place") made me choke on my Diet Coke... LOL!!!

You need to learn a bit more and blindly cheerlead a little less.

My learning capacity is great and I need no advice from you. If you want to make an intelligent point or debate an issue, do it . . . but get off the condescending crap.

<blockquote>Now stop carping and start voting. Get out the vote. Drive neighbors to the polls.

Encourage the discouraged. Be a part of the solution - not a part of the problem.

Make it happen, my friends, as only we can do it. Let’s roll…

</blockquote>
I agree with ManlyRash - DO SOMETHING
My 10 year old daughter and I were out last night making calls, we knocked on over 100 doors on Saturday.
Don't wait for it to happen - Make it happen.
