Track today’s vote at Hot Air!

In partnership with AOL News, we have a handy way to track the votes in every state. The interactive map below will tell you what states have polls open, when they close, and will track the calls made by the AP on whether each state goes to Barack Obama or John McCain. Click on each state to see a county-by-county breakdown of the voting, as well as more detailed information on state totals.

I’ll be checking this throughout the day, and it’s just one of many reasons to make Hot Air your primary Election Day website!

Update: Bumped to near top.

manofiki: that merely means those are the tendencies in those counties. It is way too early to have much thought about FL.

Last I heard he was tied before election day in FL.

That’s what’s so off about these early numbers.

I know, they are early numbers.

Anyone worried about SC ?

Mark Garnett on November 4, 2008 at 7:56 PM

Not really but NC is not looking good. Charlotte was expected to go to Obama but I don’t know if by more than 2-1 and Raleigh is going to be at least that bad.

neuquenguy on November 4, 2008 at 8:02 PM

What? We lost DELAWARE???

NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo!!!!!

Tony737 on November 4, 2008 at 8:02 PM

Voted for McCain/Palin in Quincy MA! I’m sure I just scored the big win for the team. :) Ah well, if nothing else, maybe the repeal of the state income tax will pass!

alathia on November 4, 2008 at 8:05 PM

Fox News called SC for McCain. I agree it’s not counted yet with only 1% reporting.

katablog.com on November 4, 2008 at 8:05 PM

The Polls in PA closed right at 8:00pm………and at 8:00pm on the DOT NBC News called PA for OBAMA.

Riiiiiiiiight.

manofaiki on November 4, 2008 at 8:05 PM

What the hell is up with these numbers? SC has been called red, but the stats say Obama 55/McCain 44 with 1% reporting??? Is there some kind of delay in reporting the stats? That could make this kind of difficult to use.

JackOfClubs on November 4, 2008 at 8:05 PM

Why is SC being called for McCain when the numbers have it 56-43 Obama?

Maybe I really should just go do something else for a few hours.

We are seeing different numbers, I see 47% Obama, 53% McCain in SOUTH Carolina

katablog.com on November 4, 2008 at 8:09 PM

They are just trying to keep Obama way ahead in electoral votes too because one could easily call TX and KS for McCain.

Alright stuff a sock in Bill Kristol.

katablog.com on November 4, 2008 at 8:14 PM

What the hell is going on? States being called with no reports? What am I missing?

Oldnuke on November 4, 2008 at 8:14 PM

McCain closing the gap in Florida as more of the counties report in; now 54 Obama, 46 McCain with 23% reporting

manofaiki on November 4, 2008 at 8:15 PM

Evidently states are being called by the MSM based on exit polls. I would have thought they had learned their lesson by now…

JackOfClubs on November 4, 2008 at 8:15 PM

Exactly! Buck up, Eeyores!

And I’m getting irritated by all of AP’s “Waaah!” diaries front paged with Palin images.

REALLY, now.

lansing quaker on November 4, 2008 at 8:18 PM

Exit polls or just their belief in the color of that state. But yes, they are calling states with 0% counted for Obama. However with McCain, they want to wait and see. As I said, we KNOW KS and TX will go to McCain, but the MSM don’t want him looking even close to “the one” in electoral votes, so they are sporadically calling states. And yes, FL is moving McCain. I predict McCain will win it.

katablog.com on November 4, 2008 at 8:20 PM

Mac and Palin are on their way. Screw the MSM!

XWing5 on November 4, 2008 at 8:24 PM

AOL is starting a bunch of their state poll results at O% but with the first few counties showing huge leads for Obama with 0% of the counties reporting……and then having to change a bunch of blue counties to red as the returns come in.

They’ve had to do this with about 4 counties in Florida so far, accounting for the gap shrinking with none of the panhandle counties reporting yet.

manofaiki on November 4, 2008 at 8:27 PM

Evidently states are being called by the MSM based on exit polls. I would have thought they had learned their lesson by now…
JackOfClubs on November 4, 2008 at 8:15 PM

Yep, Just heard that on Fox. What a bunch of BS, our fine media are just doing a peachy job keeping us accurately informed. If it wasn’t for movies and the History Channel I’d throw all my TV’s in the landfill. I’ve already stopped reading the local newsrag.

Oldnuke on November 4, 2008 at 8:27 PM

Things are fine, looking at the maps. Only worried about NC right now.

XWing5 on November 4, 2008 at 8:28 PM

AOL Bias evident here in NC page:

http://news.aol.com/elections/2008/state/nc

Take a look, mouse over the counties, both blue and red.

Any counties dead even or separated by a point or 3 is BLUE.

McCain has to be leading by 5 points or more for a county to be colored red.

manofaiki on November 4, 2008 at 8:31 PM

Did we seriously lose PA?!?! No way… Are they basing this JUST off exit polling??

XWing5 on November 4, 2008 at 8:32 PM

NC does look bad until you click on the interior state map with counties and see how many (more than 50% I’d guess) haven’t reported yet.

katablog.com on November 4, 2008 at 8:32 PM

XWing: and others – Look at the percentage counted before you believe a thing. PA is showing Obama, but 0% counted! It’s merely speculation from the same people that fed you the polls.

katablog.com on November 4, 2008 at 8:34 PM

Well Mccain/Pailn is going down hard and fast

Obama has already won the big prize in PA,he’s leading in FL and he’s even ahead in TX,Bush’s home state.

DcMike2K on November 4, 2008 at 9:17 PM

how do you challenge a stupid media’s call? You simply have to wait for the votes to be counted to prove them right or wrong. The news media calling a state doesn’t do anything but put people’s hopes up or down – it has not actual affect on the election unless people on the west coast become discouraged and don’t vote.

Libby Dole lost in NC and Obama has a BIG lead here.Dems have Taken at least 3 Senate seats and lead in the house about 2 to 1. Obama already is projected to win PA and is ahead in FL and OH..not looking good. I don’t fault McCain as much as it was Bushes domestic policies that cost John McCain the election. When Bush proposed the federal bailout…he sank McCain. Lets hope Obama is a quick study. As of now Omama needs only about 95 electoral votes to clinch the Presidency.

If we get stuck with this kind of “change” for a few years, OK…the time will be ripe, come next election cycle, to “change” again.

Even Reagan, whom most republicans like to call conservative was a social moderate.
What is wrong with being socially moderate and fiscally reponsible, I ask you? You republicans have a truly messed up party. You think that Mike Huckabe and Fred Thompson are conservative. Gloat, if that’s what you’re going to do – but remember, getting elected does not, in and of itself, make him presidential. why would I be worried about a fat,pill-popping racist like Rush? what can he do or say in the future that he hasn’t already said before. You say conservative radio is “back in business”? maybe but 1 thing for sure is the conservatives are OUT OF POWER!

Oh, I don’t know about all that, Mike – I’m conservative, and I vote. I also pay taxes, and I create jobs, as do most conservatives. If we stop doing either of these two things, en masse, they who’ll pony up for the health care and social programs and “free stuff” that folks like you voted for?
