Word in Chicago is spreading: Obama loss is expected. Grant Park rally downgraded to “tens of thousands” instead of the million Obama promised

Ed, I’ll be feeding you, King & Mitch results from the special Election in SD-16 as well as St. Cloud races for the Minnesota state legislature as the night rolls on.

RushBaby,
That’s amazing. Hope I want to believe in.
I just returned from a Kroger store that was overrun with the absolutely happiest group of Obamamites imaginable. As I walked in, I noticed smiles. A lady was loading a big red, white & blue baloon into the back of her vehicle. I suspect that she and Michelle O have something more in common now. I saw several hand made Obot t-shirts in the parking lot.
Inside, people who would never look you in the eye, or if they did would only stare at you with hatred, were engaging. Several passed me (probably presuming from my appearance that I supported McCain) and said, “Obama!” When there was trouble scanning a bottle of wine, I said that maybe it’s a sign I shouldn’t buy it. The clerk said, “No, you got to celebrate tonight!.”
Waiting at the meat counter, one shopper did confide that he was a broker and that two weeks ago he shipped all of his funds offshore. He plans to fire all of his employees and possibly set up shop offshore. Obviously self employed, he indicated that he’ll do whatever it takes to make sure his income stays below $180,000 next year.

I like your bookshelf Ed. Someone on Amazon made a list entitled, “Books which will be banned if Obama becomes president.” I think a few of those are on there.

Here’s how it’s going to go down:
9:27PM ET Nov 4th: Victory celebrations break out across America as every state on the Atlantic coast from NC to ME, plus VT, goes early and heavy for Obama. 60%+ vote totals lead MSNBC to call the race for Obama at 9:10ET, and millions take to the streets to share their euphoria. Obama vote totals exceed 110% of registered voters in some precincts.
11:17PM ET Nov 4th: Trouble across the ‘bitter-belt’, as Bible Clingers in MO, IA & IN and Gun Clingers in OH & PA send those states to the McCain column. In So. FL, Obama suffers from a version of the ‘Bradley Effect’ as single issue ‘friend of Israel’ voters, in the privacy of the voting booth, succumb to their fears (and ‘Obama is a Muslim’ smears) and neglect to pull the lever for Obama. Combined with higher than expected pro-McCain turnout on W. FL’s ‘Redneck Riviera’, this pushes FL into the McCain camp. Glee gives way to a cautious optimism for the Obama supporters in the streets.
02:44AM ET Nov 5th: CO win puts McCain at 269 in the EC, within 1 vote of victory. At 30 Rock, company doctors advise treatment for Keith Olbermann.*
(*no ill wishes of course for the real Keith, but it would seem appropriate for the caricature of himself he plays on tv to “blow a fuse” at this point. )
05:41 ET Nov 5th: NV and the west coast go Obama. Wednesday morning the Nation awakes to an apparent 269-269 tie. Campaign officials and House leaders on both sides scramble to deploy squadrons of lawyers and to whip delegations as they gird for the expected battle to come in the House.
In the streets, disappointment and despair gives way to anger as scattered reports of unrest begin to come in.
At Bellevue Hospital, GE execs refuse demands to air one of Keith’s obviously obsessed, Krazed & outraged orations. (K.o.o.K.o.o. Comment)
02:22 PM ET Dec 15th: A female Democratic elector from ME (and former Hillary supporter), still seething over the passage of Prop 8 in CA and having never been comfortable with Obama’s opposition to gay marriage, shocks her colleagues in Augusta and the whole nation when she crosses party lines and votes McCain, declaring ‘that’ll teach you to be nice to womyn, sweetie’!
12:02PM ET Jan 20th: John Sydney McCain is sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. America goes on to see her troops come home victorious from the war on terror amid 4 yrs of unprecedented peace and prosperity under the McCain Administration.
God Bless America

OK, 10:23 EST – I think I see one small example of how they skew results to influence the west – for polls that closed at 8 EST, they show Delaware for Obama by 51 to 48% with 2% of the vote in, but they won’t call Missouri for McCain at 54% to 45% with 5% of the vote in. Bigger margin with much more of the vote in and they won’t call it. Can anybody explain to me why Missouri is NOT being declared for McCain at 10:23 EST?

This flag was presented by, then returned to the citizens of Tiffin, Ohio during the course of the Civil War on a 30 day furlough given to the troops in the winter of 1864.

My two cents:
1. The republicans need to find a way to be competitive in major cities. It seems that as soon as an area hits a certain density it goes Democrat. That might mean finding out what the “community organizers” are doing and adopting or improving on it.
2. Republicans really need to reach out to minorities. This is a desperate point. It has to happen. The party is going to die if it doesn’t. The republicans if anything have a better history with respecting the rights of minorities but the democrats have ruled the issue on largely specious grounds. If that doesn’t turn around eventually the republicans are doomed.
3. I feel like a lot of the republican’s problems stem from the “social issues” but perhaps that’s because it’s never been a strong point for me. For me it’s always been the economic policies and civic policies of the party that were relevant. The religious aspects particularly have never resonated with me. Maybe the republicans could become more relevant especially with the urbanites if they had more inclusive policies that that were not in fact or even perceived as being faith oriented.
Final: Either way, there will be another election in a couple years that could shift the congress either way. In that time the democrats are unlikely to have made too much of a mess of things. So that will either give the reps the ability to take it back or the dems will have vindicated themselves at which point the reps get to sit out in the cold for awhile.

The best instincts of Man are eventually undone by his worst; past a certain point, the reversal is without recovery. Greece…Rome…now it’s our turn. The Great Experiment begins to end here. What earthly light we may have enjoyed will begin to go out shortly.
On the bright side…this can only accelerate All That Must Come. Don’t know if others can take any solace in that, but I do.

One policy issue I’d REALLY like to see addressed is the education of our children..in particular the HISTORY of our great country. It’s AMAZING how little they learn/know and how LIBERAL it IS!! Not to mention the liberalism of the educators themselves, unionization, etc. Such a pit in my gut tonight.

Mark Levin says the Gop has a lot of work to do.
I agree. Lets focus on some changes that must take place before the next midterm election.
Item one: Ditch Youtube. I am sick to death of seeing GOP ads which, if all things were equal, would go viral being sucked off the net after a half dozen page views.
What we need is a dedicated service which NEVER removes a single GOP ad, and will play it back on demand no matter if 2 Billion Chinese find a hankering for a dose of small government preaching all at once. GET ON THAT NOW.
Item two: Ditch Youtube. Because I know you pinheads weren’t listening the first time.
Item three: Ditch Youtube. GOPTube has a ring to it.
Item four: I’m not kidding. Ditch Youtube. From the month of August straight on through to this very minute I haven’t seen a single video that HotAir, Michelle Malkin, Instapundit, Gateway Pundit, Patterico, Ace, or a plethora of other conservative or right leaning websites posted regarding the election, the outrageous behavior of Democrats, or Mr. Obama’s unsavory associations which was linked from Youtube. NOT ONE.
THAT WAS A TRAVESTY.
From the Democratic convention right through to election night nothing but “This video is no longer available”.
I mean Jesus K Rice, if you are going to cut your own balls off by taking public funding for the campaign, the very least you should do – I mean with the first $50K – is set up your own online video news service – because Youtube is the enemy’s playing field. And they painted the visitor’s locker room pink and cut off the water to the showers.
Item five: Ditch Youtube. Because you pinheads might have missed it the first four times.
By the way this is my first post on Hot Air. I would have commented on the tremendous waist of time it is post vids from Youtube earlier, if you had openned registration more then once a year.

Obama’s public secret:
em>Scio me nihil scire.
I know that I know nothing.
THIS is the election that will never end as Obama’s propagandists perpetuate his campaign ad infinitum.
You can tell yourself, thank God at least it’s over, but don’t fool yourself and don’t blame God for the choice our neighbors made.
All things considered, we made our consonant voice heard over the massive din of the world’s most wealthy and powerful dissonance. Obama has no popular vote landslide victory bragging rights.
Mundus vult decipi, ergo decipiatur.
The world wants to be deceived, so let it be deceived!
Imperare sibi maximum imperium est.
To rule yourself is the ultimate power.
Fortitudine vincimus.
By endurance we conquer.
Conservatives have vetted many candidates this past primary season. We know who will coordinate conservative efforts, and how we must appreciate each other’s strengths in order to bond for a victory.
Michelle Malkin put it in print.
Buck up.
